After I download the new version of firefox, it flashes that it cannot finish because I do not have privilages to certain things in the new version. Can you explain this?

I get all through the downloading process and move it to my applications. It then ask me if I want to replace the old version with the new one. When I click on replace, a new window comes up with the fact that my computer does have privileges for some of the operations so I cannot complete the process. What really gets me though, is that it still pops up saying I need to download the new version. I do not know what to do.

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the disk image (dmg) file to the desktop

*Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
*Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data if you uninstall and (re)install Firefox.

"Photoshop" Lightroom doesn't require activation; you just install and then type in the serial number when prompted, and it should work from thet moment; Adobe allow you to install Lr on two computers at the same time. The Internet is only really required to register your serial number, which is a very good idea in case of disaster.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

Firefox was not running smoothly, so I unistalled it and any every folder that had anything to do with Firefox or Mozilla, then reinstalled the newest version and now it says that it cannot open because "a copy of firefox is already open." What now?

I am running Mac OSX 10.5 and have never had issues with firefox. Then I noticed it starting to run much slower and having issues freezing, yet if I used safari there were no problems. I decided to uninstall firefox and all of the folders that go along with it to get a clean restart with a new download. Everything seemed to download fine, but when I attempt to open firefox it just opens a warning that says "a copy of firefox is already open" and my only option is to close the program. Yes, I have quit ALL applications and even restarted the computer to make sure nothing is running first.
This may be completely unrelated, but another issue nonetheless, shortly before I started having issues with firefox, it no longer would go to the hotmail login page to check my email. I didn't change any settings, but it would not load that webpage even though every other page works fine. I know it is not a problem with the hotmail site because every other computer in my home will go to the site and login, plus I can get into my email by going to MSN and logging in from there.

Make sure that you haven't left a profiles.ini file.

Are you downloading iTunes form an Apple website or somewhere else? If the answer is somewhere else, try downloading it from Apple. Click on iTunes in the black menu bar above and go from there.

You could use icloud to sync contacts and calendars.
Both the ipad and iphone are intended to sync to a computer.

I have recently dropped Earthink as me dial-up provider. I now am using Virgin Mobile Broadband2GO. I was using Safari. I am now using Yahoo! Mail Plus. It suggested I switch to Firefox. I had an older version of Firefox (2.0.0.6) and started using it. It suggested I needed to upgrade because many of the newer web sites wouldn't work well on this older version. I downloaded the newer version and proceeded with the installation and it would tell me this: '''The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient privileges for some of the items.''' It is something that should be in the options tab , and I want to know why it isn't. I am totally frustrated with firefox and getting ready to switch.

You can use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.
