After I password protect main Express

my other 2 airport expresses drop and start to blink yellow and arent recognized. How do I password protect one without losing the  other two?
THanks

Figured it out... You have to have all Aiport Express' with the same password (I wasnt seeing them on the utility, but then did a hard reset so I could see and went in and fixed the password)

  • Insert signature after document password protected

Is there a way to insert a signature after the document has been password protected?

I think it would be better if you set it up to use a digital signature. You can add a signature field to the form and the user could sign it. The appearance for the signature could be the same thing as it would be if they placed the signature using the method you pointed out. It could also be set up to lock the document after the signature is placeed, which will prevent others from changing it. The users will need to be informaed about creating or otherwise obtaining a digital ID to use when signing, but this isn't too difficult.
One probelm with e-signing is Acrobat/Reader flattens the form when the document is saved. This prevents the user from revising it if needed. It also removes the form fields and just leaves their appearances, making it very difficult to extract the form data if needed. It also means you can't use security like you want. Digital signatures provide a better way to verify that a particular person signed the document. An e-signature used outside of a service like EchoSign does not provide any level of verification.
Without knowing the specific needs of the cleints of the consultants, it's hard to say for sure what the best approach is.

  • Access WEP password protected Airport Express WiFi w/T-Mobile B'Berry Curve

I have a new T-Mobile provided Blackberry Curve and the cellular signal is particularly weak in my home. T-Mobile tells me that the new Curve allows me to connect to my home WiFi network and make phone calls using WiFi (given my traditional cell signal is weak at home). Apparently, this is reasonably new functionality as I had not previously been aware of it. The problem I am having is that my WiFi network is protected by a WEP password that I set. I know the password and can view it on my Mac when I go into my Network settings and prompt it to "show password". The problem I'm having is that when I tell the Blackberry device to "search for networks" it quickly searches and easily finds my WiFi network; however, when it prompts me to then enter the WEP password, I do so and then the Blackberry gives me a prompt with something about how the password should be 8 or 24 hexadecimal characters (or something like that?) and then it will not connnect to the WiFi network. Almost as though it's not recognizing the password? MY QUESTION--Am I putting the wrong password into the Blackberry device once it searches and finds my WiFi network? Is there a different password required (perhaps something specific to my Airport Express router that I may have forgotten and need to locate via another means)? Is the password I set through my MAC OS to access my WiFi network using a laptop, etc. not the same one you use for a device like the Blackberry Curve to access that same WiFi network? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as my cellphone is currently essentially worthless inside my home!

You are probably using the correct password. If you are using a shorter password than what is allowed you can suffer the problems of incompatible implementations of WEP. If you are using WEP you should be using 128 bit WEP. That is stronger than 64 bit WEP but not very strong. The maximum length password for 128 bit WEP is 13 ASCII (normal human) characters (which is 26 hexadecimal characters). If your WEP password is not that long, you should change the WEP password at the AirPort Express (AX) so that it is that long.

  • Looking for App/Setting for Messages/Mail password protection

Well its a bit simply really, I am just looking for something that will allow me to password protect mainly my messages, although it would be nice if i could password protect other apps or things on my phone, but its mainly for messages
Is there some kind of app that will allow me to do this?
I dont think there is anything in settings but a general password, which it only asks for when you unlock the phone

I've has smartphones since before they were called that, and I've never had one that could password protect only the email app. There's nothing to understand or not understand; the iPhone cannot password protect just email. You can lock the phone with a passcode. That's it.

  • After updating on my mac - I cannot open various password protected pages - like my WordPress site. I can open them from Safari and from Firefox on my windows pc.

I cannot open password protected WordPress pages using Firefox. They open using IE
If I remove the password protection the page opens correctly in FF.
I have cleared the FF cache and cookies several times, No change
I have modified the wp-pass.php file several suggested ways related to the referrer and nothing solves the issue.
    I tried:
    wp_safe_redirect(wp_get_referer());
    to
    wp_safe_redirect(wp_get_referer() . '?');
    NO GOOD

  • TS1398 After updating to ios 6 my iphone 4 would no longer connect to my home wifi. At work we have a free wifi connection that does not require a password. However my wifi at home is password protected. I have the right password. It works on my ipod touc

After updating my iphone 4 with the ios 6 update. My iphone would no longer connect to my home wifi that is password protected. I know that I have the right password entered in. At work we have a free wifi connection that does not require a password and I can connect no problem to it. My ipod touch has no problem connecting to my home wifi. It is a 3rd gen ipod and does not have the ios 6 update on it. Please help!

I'm having the same issues. Started when I upgraded iphone 4S and ipad1 to 5.1.1. Wife's iphone 4g on 4.4.2 has been ok. I've forgot the network on both devices and restored the iphone, none of which changed the issue. I've upgraded to ios 6 on the iphone 4s, problem still persists.
One thing that will help for a time: go to your router and change the wireless control channel. When I first did this I got full connectivity for about 48 hours... and now the problem is back. I'm now changing the wireless control channel every 12 hours, which is a pain but at least keeps me connected. I've tried a few other solutions that are out there and that has been the best one so far.
to do this on a motorola router: type 192.168.0.1 in your address bar.
username: admin and password:motorola if you have not changed the factory defaults.
Click on the word "wireless" and look for the "control channel" field. This may be set to auto or to 1, try changing it to 6 or 11 (preferred) or any other channel.
The control channel can cause static in the wireless system IF there are several networks nearby that are on the default setup.
There is a fair bit of buzz about this issue out there, some other things I've seen:
This is a hardware issue. Go to the store and have your wifi antenna checked, some users reporting that they get free replacement devices.
Check against other wifi networks that require a password (this is next for me). Logon to those networks and surf until your wifi stops. If your wifi connects to the internet but stops responding, then this is a software (or hardware) issue and apple needs to step up. Some are claiming this to be the case.
IF you connect and stay connected/on the internet on another password protected wifi, then the issue is with your router. this is where things get cute.
Comcast may tell you to update your firmware. Motorola may tell you that your cable provider is the only one who can push through firmware updates. Comcast may tell you that you are not in an area that is being updated. It's unclear if they say that to all customers, or just those who have purchased cable modems and aren't renting them from comcast.
Good luck, more to come if I figure out anything else, and please post any solutions you may find.

  • No place to Double Click visible on pdf file-after opening a password-protected pdf

No place to Double Click visible on pdf file-after opening a password-protected pdf

    Thanks Pat for your interest.
Actually I am using Windows 8 (Not 8.1) and Adobe Reader Version XI (11.0.06)
Now, the exact problem I am facing is that there are certain types of pdf files I am being sent which are Password pritected (it may not be a necessary condition, i don;t know) and after I have keyed-in the correct password, it flashes the message- "Double-click here to open your file". Now while using the earlier versions of Adobe (or maybe Windows) I used to see a peculiar Pin-shaped object on the screen, double-clicking which used to open the file. That object is somehow missing this time, so I have no place to double-click. Therefore I am not able to open the file.I may add that I have recently moved to Windows 8 from XP, so my knowledge of Windows 8 is not up to mark. Can you please help?

  • Can a document author password protect something after its already downloaded?

If I download a document from a website and am not required to enter a password to open it after I’ve downloaded it, is it possible for the author to add password protection to the downloaded document later? For example, let’s say I am a member of a paid website that allows its members to download documents. Let’s say I’ve downloaded some stuff and was not required to enter a password at the time. If I cancel my membership can they somehow change my downloaded copy in my computer and add password protection? Meaning if I cancel my membership I could possibly lose access to the stuff I’ve already downloaded?

Awesome. I looked up online how to check to see if they used DRM and they don't for any of their documents. Thank you so much!

  • How to password protect a second site within my main website?

I have an iWeb website. I would like to be able to password protect a second site within my main site. That second site has many pages.
I am looking for a password application that looks more interesting than the usual. Something more than a box with a place for others to type in their password.
Can you suggest a product that will do that? Thank you.

    I am using Numbers 08
And the Numbers User Guide, supplied with iWork '08, make no mention of password protection, which was introduced in Numbers '09.
Looks like the best option is Wayne's second suggestion—open via File > Print > PDF > Open in Preview, then Save the resulting PDF document with encryption turned on.
An alternate, if you want the recipients to receive a copy of the Numbers '08 file, and to be able to edit that file, you could enclose it in a secure disk image file.
    The basic procedure is to:
Use Disk Utility to create a new, blank, sparse disk image, assign a password and save.
Double-click the .dmg file (and enter the password when requested) to mount the disk image on your desktop, then Save a copy of your file to the (open) disk image.
When done, eject the image, and upload the (encrypted) .dmg file to the website.
Detailed instructions may be found in Disk Utility's Help files.
Launch DU (found in the Utilities folder in Applications), click the Help menu and choose Disk Utility help.
Go to the index, scroll to and click Security, then click a title similar to "Protecting confidential documents in a secure disk image." (a search on 'confidential' should also take you to a list containing that title.)
My version of DU is old enough that sparse images hadn't been introduced, or I'd post a copy of the article here.

  • Password-protected Sparse Disk Image Bundle remembered after eject

I use password-protected Sparse Disk Image Bundles to protect some files. Every now and then, when I open the image, it doesn't ask me for the password and opens immediately.
At first, I thought I may have inadvertantly agreed to save the password in Keychains. But that is not the case. After running some tests, I noticed it may take up to 3 ejects before it asks me for the password again. It seems to happen more when I modify files in the disk image, but not when I simply read files. I suspect it is not completely unmounting the image.
This is potentially a security issue. Any suggestion on what I can do short of re-ejecting images until it asks for a password again?

You may have successfully increased the sparsebundle's potential capacity while failing to resize the contained partition. That seems to be what happened when I tried this myself. A resized sparsebundle containing the same files would not occupy much more space on disk than it did before.
*Provided you have a backup*, you could try the following:
Remount the image, then run Disk Utility and select the .sparsebundle (non-indented icon) in the left pane. Click on the Partition tab, and then see if you can pull down the lower right corner of the disk image partition to increase its size. If you can, then drag it to the bottom and click Apply.
Again don't try this without a backup. It may not be worth doing in any event - it's easy enough just to make a new, bigger sparsebundle and copy your stuff over.

  • How to password protect mobileme gallery after its been published?

Is there a way to quickly add password protection to a already published set of pics instead re-uploading and choosing to protect it before the initial upload?

Yes. Just as you can update a MobileMe gallery with additional photos after initial publishing, you can update the settings including password protection.
Within Aperture, with the gallery "album" up, select the MobileMe popup menu from the tools at the bottom right of the screen. Within that, select "Settings..." Then edit the "Album viewable by:" section accordingly and re-"Publish." No need to re-upload your photos.
Some gallery/album settings can be modified via browsing into the MobileMe gallery, but to the best of my knowledge password protection cannot be modified there...

  • Airport express does not see password protected airport network

When I try and password protect my Airport network, my Airport Express, set to join an existing network to play music on my stereo, can no longer see the network. I have my Airport Express plugged in via ethernet to configure it, and the Admin Utility shows a pop up menu for available networks to join, but this menu only shows my Airport network when password protection for the network is turned off. I never set my network to be hidden, so that's not the problem, and my laptop(s) can always see the Airprort network, regardless of password protection being enabled or not.
Supposedly you can select a password protected network for the Express to join and then it will prompt you to enter the password, but if it is not in the list then I can't select it. I can type in the network name, but again, it only joins if I turn off password protection for the network.
Is there a work around for this?
    -Lewis

Your express will need to see the SSID in order to connect. I would suggest that you temporarily turn off the security (WPA2) on your D-Link router, make sure it is broadcasting the SSID, and then see if the express detects it. If the express doesn't see it, make sure some other device can.
You also might try changing the SSID, or turning it off and back on and see if that helps.
Once you can see it in the clear, add the security, and be sure to enter it in exactly, be careful of capitals, etc.

  • Why unable to sign PDF with certificate after applying Nitro PDF password protection? (despite it explicitly allowing signing with certificates)

I used Adobe Reader XI to sign PDFs with certificate, which worked perfectly. Except that the PDF could still be edited by other programs (for example, Nitro PDF) after the signing (but not the fill out fields and the signature). To apply password protection makes sense to avoid changes in the PDF being made after it has been signed. So I applied password protection via Nitro PDF that allows only enter fill-out fields and signing. But when I open it with Adobe Reader, the filling out works fine, but the signing part is not available to click on it (all of the buttons under "Sign" tab are grey). When I go on the Security properties with Adobe Reader, I can explicitly see that signing of this PDF is allowed and yet the option is not open to use for me anymore.
Any ideas on why it is the case and what I could do about that?
    Many thanks!
    O.

Actually yes, I just asked my colleague to assist me with this, he password-protected the PDF with Acrobat 8, explicitly allowing for signing and fill-out functions, it also appears in Adobe Reader under security properties as "allowed", but it is not open to use in the Reader for me anymore (grey buttons).

  • Password protected remote panel empty after login and connecting

    Dear Ladies and Gentleman
We like to access our front panel by web (to be able to see what is happening) which works fine. We need also password protection in order to assure only some people have access. For this case we installed LabView 2009 SP1 32bit together with the Internet Toolkit. After following How to Setup Security for the G Server? we are forced to enter a password when opening the URL in firefox. If the correct password is entered the web site opens BUT the plugin which is needed to open/show the embedded LabView panel applet does not work!! There is a grey box indicating that something is actually going on, but nothing appears...
If we do not use password protection (i.e. G Server but the default LabView Server) everything works fine.
We are using an evaluation version of the Internet Toolkit but if this issue can be solved we would like to buy it.
Thanks a lot for your help and time

    Hello Joseph
    Thanks for your reply - actually I remember to have read the document you mentioned. I read the note also... but I have to admit that I did not understand what's the point;
    - I do not want to 'Import' something but to 'share' / 'publish' / ...
    - I do not understand what a Web Services are and what I do they need for
    - I do NOT have any CGI code (just a simple VI)
    - I JUST WANT TO PROTECT A WORKING REMOTE VI WITH A PASSWORD (e.g. instead of showing the VI to me, ask first for a password and THEN show it)
Sorry but as I can see this should be easy since it should be a quite common task, doesn't it? In early LV versions (before v8 or may be v6) this was simple and
    described in several documents:

PLEASE HELP ME! In about 1 week the evaluation period of the Internet Toolkit is over... Do I really have to write my own code for this? Is there no simple
    built-in solution?

  • 2 questions about SmartWare (password protection, resume after standby)..

Hi guys, 2 quick questions about the SmartWare utility. I have searched for previous answers, but couldn't find any. Might be that I uses the wrong search terms though, so sorry in advance if this had been asked (and aswered) before. When I create a backup, it is being stored file-by-file in the "SmartWare" folder on the NAS. Since the SmartWare folder is public, all users with access to the drive can access this folder. Ultimately this means that ALL users of the drive can access the backup files of ANY user. If someone performs a full backup, this means that anyone has access to ALL the data of that person. I could't find any option in SmartWare to password-protect backups or something. From a security point of view, I would consider this as a worst-case scenario. Even worse is that there is no mentioning of this in the user's manual. Am I missing something here? Is there a way to protect backups against access by any other user? If this is really not possible, I would consider this application to be pretty much useless, to say the least. "Dangerous" would be a better description... My 2nd question is only relevant if there's a solution for the first one, because else I would't use this tool anyway: Does it automatically resume a backup if the machine is put to standby or hibernation mode during a backup operation, or will it restart from the start, or will the backup be interrupted (and thus useless)? Many thanks in advance!

One can create a Private Share on the WD My Cloud, configure it so only one user has access (password protected), then one can configure the SmartWare software to backup to that private share folder. One changes the backup location in the SmartWare program by selecting the dropdown selector box below the "WD My Cloud" on the Smartware "Home" screen. The Smartware User Manual explains this process under Chapter 5, Backing up Files, step 2, substep c. Smartware should resume the backup when ever it is interrupted. Here is how it is explained in the Smartware User Manual:Note: Backup protection is automatic for as long as the backup source and target devices are connected to your computer. Then, whenever you disconnect and reconnect either device, the WD SmartWare software rescans the backup source device for new or changed files and resumes automatic backup protection.
