After I updated my iTunes, my devices are not appearing in iTunes and won't let me sync

please help - after I updated my iTunes on my PC (Windows 8), my iTunes won't recognize any of my devices to sync anymore. How can I fix this?
trying to sync, iPod (5th generation), iPod Touch (4th generation), iPhone 5s and iPad 3rd generation

After setting up iTunes 11, my devices are not showing up on the program.

I solved this by restarting my computer.

Sync your iPhone to iTunes to copy the iTunes purchases to the computer.
Or iTunes prefs > Store.
Tick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases then click the Cloud icon after the song names to download them.

HT1386 Itune 11 on Windows 7 x64 and iPad 2. The device do not appear in Itunes.

On 3 different PC and 3 different iPad 2 when I installed iTunes 11.1 Windows Autoplay recognise the iPad but iTunes do not.
The device does not appear in iTunes and thus neither synchronisation nor backup are possible.
Reverting to the previous version of iTunes solved the issue.
However with IOS 7 iTunes 11.1 is required and I am back with the same issue. Could you please help?

If you try syncing with iTunes again, perhaps the phantom album will be erased since it does not exist on the computer.
Have you tried restarting or maybe resetting the iPad to see if the album will disappear?
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

I solved the issue. Her profile permissions on the Mobile Applications folder for some reason was set to read only. Once I set the permissions for her user account to Read and Write, I was able to download an App and sync her devices, with the Apps syncing back to her iTunes library

Just right click the song and select "Get Info". Under "Info" tab, in the "Album Artist" part, make sure it is the name of the artist you want. Also works when selecting multiple songs if all the same artist.

Have you tried booting off the Installation DVD then dropping into the Utilities to Reset Password? It may have got corrupted, just set it back to the one you are familiar with.
