After I upgraded to Mavericks 10.9.2, calendar app won't open

I recently upgraded to Mavericks 10.9.2 on my mac. After the upgrade i cannot open my calendar. I get a message that my mac does not dsupport this app. Can anyone tell me where I can find out what kind of mac would support the calendar app. Is there something I csn do on this computer. I am on an imac 3.2 GHz Intel core i3 with 8 GB of memory.

Please use Finder to locate your Applications folder, then the Calendar app there.  Control-click on the Calendar app and choose "Get Info".  What version number is shown there?  It should be 7.0.
If it is 7.0, click on the Calendar app you just located in the Applications folder.  Does it open?  If so, drag the old Calendar app off your dock (which will remove it), and drag this one from your Applications folder to the dock (which will add it there).  That should solve your issue.

  • Calendar App won't open in OS X Mavericks

I am currently having the issue with Calendar.  It's running in the dock, but won't open a new window when I click on it.  I have to "right click" and select new event to open the Calendar window.  Is it me or the application?  I have looked through my settings, but I have not found anything that could be causing this situation.

I just had this issue in Mountain Lion as well, and the solution of opening the Calendar app from the Applications folder worked for me too.
I had originally launched it using Alfred, which I thought would use the path to the Applications folder. In my case the Calendar application did launch, but it bounced and bounced, and eventually froze up. So maybe the problems are unrelated, but Force Quit-ting and relaunching directly from Applications worked great.
...and Alfred launches it correctly now, as I expected it would.
Thanks for the tip! Not sure if it worked in the same way as the OP, but I'm just glad to have Calendar back and working!

  • After I installed iOS 5  on my ipad my apps won't open and none of my music will sync to my iPad . What the jimmy yo!,, help

Is there any one with this type on related issues??

Try downloading any free app from the store (as that appears to reset something) and then re-try them - the free app can then be deleted.

Have you installed Apple's latest Epson drivers?

Your question requires more information. What does MPEG-4 mean to you? What file container and which compression formats are you referring to here? Is the MPEG-4 content "standard" or proprietary. Basically, depending on the file container and the specific content, QT X v10.3 may initiate a conversion ever where the individual data tracks are fully QT compatible. Proprietary compression formats will definitely do this. In some cases, the audio or video in one source container may simply be passed through to the MOV file while in another source container, QT X v10.3 forces a conversion of that same data track. In short, there are too many variables at this point to properly answer your question or attempt to duplicate your workflow.

  • After I upgrade to maverick I cannot longer use my scanner (Epson Aculaser cx17). Now it works only as printer

After I upgrade to maverick I cannot longer use my scanner (Epson Aculaser cx17). Now it works only as printer. Does some one else have a similar problem?
    With Lion worked very well.

The scanner is not amongst the scanners Apple supports on 10.6 through 10.9:
OS X: Printer and scanner software available for download
Now it could use another scanner's engine, thus supporting the driver.  It could also support the TWAIN preference in Preview application.
It could also show up in Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Print and Scan.
If none of that helps, look at my FAQ*:

    for third party scanner drivers.

  • Will I still be able to use ilife, iwork or any of my applications after the upgrade to Maverick? I currently have version 10.6.8. Thanks!

Will I still be able to use ilife, iwork or any of my applications after the upgrade to Maverick? I currently have version 10.6.8. Thanks!

The ONLY stuff that should give you trouble is anything that requires Roestta to run. iLife apps can be upgraded for free, and iWork 09 should still run. Office 2011 and Adobe Creative Suite CS5 and CS6 run like before on my Mini.

  • Will i have big problems if i go back to Mountain Lion after having upgraded to Mavericks?

Will i have big problems if i go back to Mountain Lion after having upgraded to Mavericks? I also updated iphoto, pages ,numbers etc

According to the App Store, Pages compatibility is v10.9 or later.
    Same for iPhoto and Numbers.
Those apps will not run on v10.8 Mountain Lion.

  • Some apps won't open after OS X Mavericks update

After the update to OS X Mavericks, some apps won't open on my macbook pro.  That include things like preview, boot camp assistant, from what I've tried so far. When I click on those from applications menu or from the spotlight search, the icon appear on the dock very briefly(like 1 sec) and nothing happened after that. Based on the internet search, I tried the Disk permissions repair and didn't work. Any suggestions? Thanks

    Hi aung.24,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  I would recommend trying the troubleshooting for "If the issue occurs in various applications, or in Mac OS X" from this article:

Is the iPhoto library in your home folder, or have you moved it somewhere else?

  • After upgrade to iOS 6, one of my apps won't load. It seems to, then just ends. Is there an error log I can check?

After upgrade to iOS 6, one of my apps won't load. It seems to, then just ends. Is there an error log I can check?

so your starting it up and its just crashing right away, yes? can you tell me what app it acutally is? as iOS6 is so new my thought would be that its probably incompatable with it at this time, im having trouble with my networks app that just will not let me log in at all!
id suggest going to the page of the app on the app store and look to see if it says if its compatable or not? as for a error log its in usage data, which is in settings > general > about, and i think its near the bottom.

    Hi megamike1969,
I've been losing some apps also in the Dock. As Niel said I think is that you may be able to just drag them back to the Dock, if you can find them.
What I do is open Launchpad and while you're in there, drag the application to the Dock. If you can't locate the apps, then disregard this post.
