Initial backup was successful, but not sure about what to do nest. Just leave time capsule running FOREVER?
What if I unplug it? What happens to saved data?

There just might be a reason why Apple did not even include an "Off" switch on the Time Capsule, or provide you with a way to turn off the Time Capsule from your computers.
The Time Capsule was designed to left "on".
Nothing will happen to your saved data if you unplug the Time Capsule.....but constantly powering the Time Capsule off and on will place far more stress on the electronics and hard drive than simply leaving it on all the time.
The exception to this might be turning off the Time Capsule if you are away for an extended time.....long weekend, vacation, etc.

Fan runs all the time after upgrade to 10.4

Upgraded to 10.4 about a week ago and now the fan runs all the time. I lowered the processor to reduced performance because the fan noise was very loud. Doing this lowered the fan speed but did not stop it. Memory usage is not a problem, shows 75% free.
Before 10.4 was using 10.3 fan ran at times but never all the time.
Any ideas.

Tom, have you down loaded an app like "X Resource Graph", I think I got it at VersionTracker, which will tell you what fan is running at high enoug rpm's to generate noise. Plus it will give you cpu usage and temps plus hard drive temps. If its the cpu fan and the cpu is really working, go to the Activity Monitor in the utilities file and see what app is causing the problem. I don't know what to do if it's the hard drive or system fan. My system fan rarely goes over 1800 rpm, my hard drive stays between 2000 and 2200 but my cpu fan will accelerate when its under pressure to to over 3000 rpm. I just start hearing the cpu fan when it gets to 2400 rpm.

IIf you are running iOS 6.1.2, you could not be using the original iPad. No matter which iPad and what version, try these basic troubleshooting steeps and see if it helps with the performance.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data. Then close all apps.
In order to close apps in iOS 5 or iOS 6, first tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
In order to close apps in iOS 7 or 8, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Now reset your iPad. Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
You can also try resetting all settings. You will not lose any data, but most of the device settings will have to be entered in the settings app again. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings.

After the latest Java Update, this is running all the time

I have been experiencing this exact same problem ever since I upgraded.
In addtion to what Mflor describes as the problem that's occurring, I even experience this when I'm playing my iPod on my docking station through the AppleTV. It just stops midway through the first song and continues to do so after 5-7 plays and that's only if I'm patient enough to deal with it.
The message I get quickly once this occurs is that my AppleTV doesn't have an internet connection, but that message only appears for a quick second before it returns to the main AppleTV menu with ALL the options.
I've even tried rebooting the AppleTV and this still occurs.

Laptop fan runs all the time, broker runtime cpu usage after Windows 10 final upgrade

ENVY 17t-J100 Leap Motion, 16 GB RAM, i7, SSD primary, HDD secondary drives. Avast antivirus free. Windows Firewall. The laptop had Windows 8.1 and everything was great. I did the Windows 10 Home free upgrade on Day 1. Everything seemed fine. Fingerprinter reader and everything works. Great. But then I noticed that the fan was always running and the left side of the metal casing gets hot. In task manager heat map sorted by CPU usage, Broker Runtime is at the top. Not much ram, about 10 MB. But the CPU usage is always 20% and higher. Doesn't seem like much. But it makes the fan run all the time and the laptop heats up with it running all the time. Anyone else seen this? General internet searching shows this has been an issue with Broker Runtime since Windows 8 and not unique to any brand of computer. But it wasn't like this when I was using WIndows 8.1 One forum said it was the P2P Windows update feature and my laptop was sharing updates. So I disabled that and rebooted. No change. Now I see some people saying it is the Live Tiles features in the Start Menu. But I had live tiles with the WIndows 8 menu and no issues. The only way to disable Live Tiles globally is to edit the registry, and I shouldn't have to do that for this. And I like Live Tiles. So not sure that really is the issue either.

The only way to reinstall Safari on a Mac running v10.7 Lion is to restore OS X using OS X Recovery
Instead of restoring OS X in order to reinstall Safari, try troubleshooting extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect: Allow plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.
If it's not an extension or plug-in issue, delete the cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

Make sure you are using the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.
A suggestion:
Go to YouTube, open any video and press pause (don't do this while video is playing).
Click the ctrl key or “right click” the mouse in the middle of the video window. The settings for flash player will pop up.
Select the video settings then select "enable hardware acceleration."
Press close.
Now RESTART YOUR COMPUTER not just Safari if that is your browser of choice.

Hard drive runs all the time after software update

After a software update from Apple a couple of weeks ago, for some reason the hard drive now runs noisily and continuously ever since. It's never run that way in the 3 years I've had the machine. It would run briefly sometimes while using some websites, but it would always stop and quiet down once the site was done. Anybody else had this happen? Thanks - L Agnew.

Make sure you have enough available drive space for updates. Right click your MacintoshHD icon and then click Get Info. In the Get Info window, where it says: General click the black arrow so it faces down. You will see Capacity and Available. Watch that the available drive space never falls below 15% of the total drive. (Some say 10%, but that's pushing it). Not enough drive space will cause apps to crash and freeze, including browsers.
If drive space is the issue, you need to copy files to external source. Don't forget to delete the originals on the hard disk.
If drive space isn't an issue try deleting this file. com.apple.softwareupdate.plist
/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that file from the Preferences folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and reboot. Launch Software Update either from the Apple Menu or the System Preferences/Software Update pane.

Try connecting the iPod to its syncing computer and restoring the iPod.
If you can't restore, see if resetting the iPod will allow a restore:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home

If that was unsuccessfulm see if placing the iPod in recovery mode will allow a restore. For recovery mode see:
