After installed Leopard, can't install any other software....help
I just installed Leopard 10.5 into my Powerbook G4 17" 1.5Gz, but after that I can't install any other software, I try CS3 upgrade, new Poser7 and apple 10.5.1 upgrade, after I click install....nothing happen..... just the spining color wheel, try few time and wait for an hour... still the same, need help!
In your utilities folder, in applications there's a program called disk utilities app. Go in there and click on your hard drive and click on disk permissions, first aid should also be highlighted. Post back if you require additional information. Good luck, and don't worry this is fixable.

Having trouble udating to 10.4.6 and any other software
I'm having trouble installing 10.4.6, and any other software upgrade for that matter. I've tried to upgrade software on another program I use this week. Both the other app's and 10.4.6 updaters will start the install and then give me an error that says something like, "There were errors during installation. Please try installing again later."
Don't know what kind of errors...just "errors." Very un-mac like.
My system seems to be running fine otherwise. My apps work fine...it's just when I run a software updater. I've repaired permissions and Disk First Aid says there are no repairs necessary to my drive.
Any ideas?
It's a Powermac.G5 1.6ghz running 10.4.5.

TimR>I started to update from 10.4.5 on my brand new Mac G5 Quadra and the updater showed no drives in the drive window where you choose where to install. I tried both the Combo and the Delta, so then I went to disk utility to see if something was wrong, still no drives. Tried unhooking all peripherals. Booted from orig CD and got to disk utility, said had boot tree problem, repaired it. Tried to update again, still no drives. Even tried an fsck-y in Linux, said everything was fine. Still no drives. Tried Drive 10 and Tech tool ---said no problems. I called Apple help, I'd done everything he recommended...so he said to take it to the nearest Apple store. Not exactly the solution I was hoping for.

I run Disk Utility once a month just to keep things running smoothly. So far the rest of the machine is working fine...but My Mac is my business..without it I'm in big trouble. I'm worried. Any ideas out there?

Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
When the menubar appears select Terminal from the Utilities menu.
Enter resetpassword at the prompt and press RETURN. Follow
instructions in the dialog window that will appear.

Mountain Lion downloaded from App store on 11th and 12th June will not install. Downloaded TWICE it times out after 20 secs into install. Can't get any help!!! Going around in circles!!

Maybe Apple should have a ' definitely read me first' notice before a download takes place with CLEAR instructions to have more than the 6GB they indicate ofr the Mountain Lion download -

Have you tried GoodReader? It claims to handle very large file sizes and it's very good for annotations. It's my PDF reader of choice on the iPad

Why not just download XCode Developer tools from the Mac App Store? It's free and contains many other useful programming utilities and IDEs to work with.

Can't find any other target in Em12c

I successfully installed EM12c on my red hat Linux, I only could add the target for EM host, however I can not add any other targets.
I try to add database instance for monitoring via add target manually, after I entered the host name, but i got not target found. on EM host, I can ping the target I want to add and it's lisenter is also up.
please kindly help and suggest, I am not sure if something I missed.

RoyBefore you add a database instance target on another server, you first need to deploy the agent to the server where the database runs.
Go to the Setup menu, then Add Target, then Add Targets Manually. Make sure "Add Host Targets" is selected and click "Add Host". You'll have to specify the hostname and operating system and step through the deployment steps.

After the agent is deployed and the host has become a managed target, you can then either add the database instance manually or use the auto-discovery features. -

I have recently updated my iMac from OS x mountain lion to OS X Mavericks.
After that I can't upload any video and some files to my personal email account.
I have tried to send a small video clip to the sender as attachment. i have done this before
with the same video same and same email account. This problem found just after installed the

RomanPlease follow these directions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folders. In OS X 10.9 there are two sandboxes, while in earlier versions there is only one.
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder — not just its contents — to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
Log out and log back in. Launch Mail and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window. If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Repeat with this line:
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.MailServiceAgent
Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.

The profiles are there, but they only display and are only available for raw images. The image that you are highlighting is either a JPEG or some other non--raw file format. The only profile available for non-raw images is the embedded profile.

Hello, I have transferred my Acrobat XI Pro from old MAC to the new one. After the transfer can not open any PDF file. Any idea how to solve this?

Could you please specify how exactly did you transfer Acrobat from one MAC to other.
You might need to deactivate the software from your old machine and then activate it on the new one with the same serial number (for Acrobat license) or Adobe credentials (for Acrobat subscription).
If you have done the same way, then let me know if you are able to open Acrobat itself.
Do you get any specific error message while opening a PDF?

I downloaded a trial of photoshop. It runs for a minute or so, then a message displays saying that photoshop has stopped. No error codes, just the message. I have exhausted the "try this" stuff that I can find. Any other ideas would be appreciated. I would also like to know what some alternative applications might be. This trial does not give me confidence in Adobe's product.
I saw a similar question deeper into the forum right after I posted. I followed the fix steps and it took care of the problem.
