After installing an addon, firefox does not prompt me to restart

In Archlinux, when I install an add on, I am never prompted to restart firefox like I am on my Mac.
I am using Firefox 4.0 RC1.
(I also have no idea why firefox isn't using the gpu. glxgears etc do just fine)

This is easy one.. for most.. just restart the TC.. ie pull out the power.. count to 10.. plug in the power.

After install snow leopard, ical does not show the events of some calendars

After I install snow leopard, ical does not show all the events, or simple does not show the events of some calendars that I created.
Can somebody solve this problem? Is there some update for ical?

Try the following:
1 - Go to your user account home folder, and open the library folder within it.
Look for the folder named "Calendars" and inside you might find a bunch of different folders with weird names. If they are there that means your calendars might not be lost.
2 - Look for the file "Calendar Cache". That file might be corrupted. Trash it. You may want to save a copy of it elsewhere. Once trashed, re-open ical. This should force it to rebuild its library based on those folders with weird names you saw. Your calendars should be back. Good luck

After installing lion my superdrive does not read dvds

After the genious bar installed lion my superdrive does not read dvds. I put in the dvds and the drive churns for a bout 3 minutes and the spits out the dvds full of scratches.
I have read online that other people have had similar problems with lion.
Is there fix for this? or does anyone know if apple care covers this?

Zap the PRAM and Reset the SMC, then try loading a DVD again.

CT, the behavior of the power button on Mavericks (10.9.2) is not as the note (OS X Mavericks: Using the power button - Support - Apple) describe. I have to press four or five times de power button in order to put the mac to sleep.

After install iLife '11, iWeb does not show the picture

After install iLife '11 , I need to edit some pages of an existing website (stored on my HD)
When I open the page I would edit (it's a page that contains some photo gallery) I see that the picture gallery is empty and if I try to publish the page when I browse it I see the page appear but there's no picture gallery on it.
there's any solution ?

After install of itunes 7, does not recognize ipod

I recently updated itunes to 7, after the update itunes does not recognize my ipod. I am using windows xp with a 5th generation 30G video ipod, have followed the troubleshooting guide relating to this to no avail. have also gone through the 5 r's, with the exception of resetting since itunes doesn't recognize the ipod. Help, I can't sync my podcast!

Used windows update, installed 8 updates, FireFox does not display some websites and images correctly.

Windows update installed 8 updates to my computer and now several websites are not displaying images or text correctly. Some forum looks like they were loaded in an extreme basic mode, another forum main page looks fine but sub forums are loaded in in the same basic looking mode, another forum only displayed 1 user avatar out of hundreds.
Chat/IRC clients wont load.
Everything works when I used IE.
I tried to follow the help thingies but was led to a dead link.

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a high value can cause issues like you described.

After installing Yosemite Time machine does not work

Time machine no longer works after Yosemite installed. Can this be fixed?

Mine isn't working either. First time I've tried to backup an iMac and it is after 10.10.3 update. It won't complete the backup. File in finder ends in "in progress" - i have tried with two different drives, ran tests on both and on my startup disk. It is a brand new WD 2T My Passport for MAC and basically a brand new iMac (late 2014) - it will NOT complete a backup. I cannot find any answers on the support discussions - how can I get this working? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated - I'm concerned I don't have this machine backed up at all.
Here is what Time Machine is telling me (I tried disk utility on both of the external hard drives I have - and neither had an issue to fix):

After updating Adobe Flash, Firefox does not work

I just recently downloaded Firefox and it had that bar at the top of the internet url saying to update Adobe Flash or that the Adobe Flash plug in doesn't work. So I clicked on that and it took me to the Firefox site with the raccoon, with a list of things I might need to update.

After installing Leopard, spinning wheel does not stop and machine freezes

Hello everyone, I succesfully install Leopard, got the green check mark, but after the machine restarting, playing the intro movie and asking for my info, I didn't want to register at the moment.
Now I'm trying to do it and got the spinning color wheel that doesn't let me do anything.
How can I fix this.....thank you for your help...

I installed leopard a few days ago and the update yesterday.
My machine was running fine until tonight. I left it on for a few hours and when I came back it had the spinning color wheel. I can't acces the system, it's just a black screen with the color wheel spinning!
In a desparate attempt I closed the screen and it appeared to go into sleep mode so I popped the battery out. After replacing the battery, opening the screen, and powering on the computer displayed a blank grey screen with a progress bar at the bottom. Once the progress was complete it returned me to my color wheel. Any advise would be appriciated.

Iphoto '11 says its incomplete or damaged and won't open after installing ilife '11, which does not show up in applications folder

I just tried to install iLife '11 on my MacBook I purchased in January, 2011. Now, iPhoto '11, which was installed into the computer when I bought it, will not open. Instead, it gives an error message: "You can't open the application iPhoto because it may be damaged or incomplete." On top of that, I cannot locate iLife '11 that I installed into the computer in the applications folder. I'm sure I installed the program because it told me installation was complete. I restarted the computer and am still having the same problems. Thanks for any help.

iLife 11 is not an application. It's a suite of applications of which iPhoto 9 is one. Did you purchase the boxed version of iLife 11? If you did then you'll need to reinsatll iPhoto from the iLife 11 disk. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/ folder,
