After installing Firefox 5, Hyperlinks on some web pages wont click open. Usually non-text confirm type links. Like to enter an account.
One Example below. I can't click open the 'My Account' button at the top: http://www.boostmobile.com/
I also miss the Google toolbar. I used it frequently.
I am ready to revert to an older version of Firefox.

I did't have a problem clicking on the link. It is JavaScript perhaps you have JavaScript turned off Tools > Options > Content or perhaps NoScript extension.

I keep getting "Reminders" that some web page cannot be opened, even when I'm not online or on the Internet, and I'd like to stop it.

For days now, a "Reminder" box pops up on my screen every few minutes. It's followed by whatever the date is. It always says that a Web page cannot be opened and to try various things, even though I'm not online or trying to open any page. I can get rid of it by opening the task manager (control, alt, delete), but it comes back in a few minutes. I tried "System Restore" but that's not working, for an unrelated reason. I'd like to stop this annoying reminder. Thanks.

After installing Firefox 4 Beta I am no longer able to open my Firefox 3. Even when I double click the firefox.exe in the correct progam folder it continues to open Firefox 4 Beta instead of 3.

Opening from the Programs list doesn't work, from the windows search bar doesn't work, and directly opening the Firefox.exe in the correct program folder doesn't work either.
I only got it to open once: upon first installing Firefox 4 Beta I asked it to pin it to the Windows 7 taskbar (it did not). My Firefox 3 program was still pinned to the taskbar however. So through that button I was able to open Firefox 3. But since then I have unpinned Firefox 3 and have pinned the Firefox 4 Beta to the taskbar instead. Now I can't get it to point back to Firefox 3.

what a pain! However, the solution is to simply install the Add-On "Autofill Forms". I'm not certain why Mozilla didn't automatically install the add-on as most of us rely on this feature. It's definitely not a good enough reason to uninstall and reinstall an earlier version and this version has some neat features

Firefox freezes when loading some web pages then the computer locks up

Sometimes, when loading a website, the browser freezes. Then the computer locks up and I have to use the power button to turn it off. There seems to be no pattern to this problem. I'm also not sure whether or not the problem begins within Firefox, but a web page was loading every time it happened. It has only started happening this week.

I seem to be having a very similar, if not exactly the same issue. I'm using the latest production FF 11.0 release on Win7 64 and as with this not only does FF freeze, but I can't task switch, or anything. The one thing I've noticed is that when the lockup happens, it always appears to be loading some custom font from a CDN, if I breathe deeply and slowly and allow the request to complete everything seems to eventually unfreeze and I can continue, so maybe something to do with implementation of custom font loading?

After 6 months can not access some web pages

I can not get several web pages to work when I pull them up. Like Comcast, the main page comes up but not the current TV listings.

Unfortunately this hasn't worked either. I did this several times, after deleting cache files and repairing permissions. Do you think the issue is something that the ISP could address?
Another issue has appeared: I'm unable to login to a site that a friend has constructed; he assures me that when he uses the same login information on his mac there's no access problem. When I try, the login fields just reappear, without what I've entered.

Just installed Firefox 10. For long web pages which are forms does not display the bottom. Looks fine if source if viewed.

Tried everything, and Firefox still will not display web pages correctly. Please help!

I'm running the latest version of Firefox, and it recently started to lag. I was looking through these forums for an answer, and a bunch of people recommended to reset Firefox. I did so, and then the browser started to act very weird. When I go to websites such as Facebook and Youtube, it's just a bunch of black text along the left edge of the page. No images, and no illustrations like usual. All of the pages work perfectly in different web browsers, so it must be a problem with Firefox. I've tried everything under the sun to fix it, but still nothing. I tried re-installing, deleting the cache and cookies, and managing the privacy settings for the app. I really want to get Firefox back to normal, ASAP. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Might be a third party Safari addon that was compatible with Snow Leopard but not Lion that's preventing pages to load. That add on may not have any effect on the other browsers, just Safari.

Also, if you have Little Snitch or Peer Guardian or anti virus sofware installed on your Mac, that might prevent pages to load also.

Unless a web page uses a “web font” that it supplies itself, web pages typically provide a list of fonts, in priority order, of fonts to be used to render text. Typically, this list of fonts represents “system fonts” of MacOS, Windows, iOS, and Android - fonts that can be counted on being installed. Helvetica Neue is a MacOS system font that is not typically found on Windows systems. And even if a user licenses recent versions of Helvetica Neue OpenType fonts and installs same on Windows systems, they are in the “Helvetica Neue Std” family which would not match “Helvetica Neue” which is native to MacOS. Thus, I suspect that the Helvetica Neue you have installed on Windows is an older font offering.
There are three issues here:
The first is that web pages provide a priority list for font usage. I suspect that the web pages you are seeing Helvetica Neue actually used on your system are requesting fonts in the order of Helvetica Neue and then Arial. The typical MacOS system would display the content with Helvetica Neue and the typical Windows system would display the content with Arial. Since you have Helvetica Neue on your system, you are getting rendering similar to what a MacOS system would have.
The second issue is that there is no way to force a web page to reverse the order of priority of the fonts it lists.
And finally, the third issue is that there is no way to hide a font selectively by application.
The only way you can avoid Helvetica Neue being used on web pages preferring Helvetica Neue to let's say Arial or any other font on its list for particular text rendering is to uninstall Helvetica Neue.
That having been said, other than perhaps personal type design preferences, are there any other issues with regards to use of Helvetica Neue for display of these web pages?

Must restart after installing firefox and kde...WHY????

Every time I set up an arch box, when I install firefox or kde (probably others) I must restart the computer before I can even execute them. This is mighty inconvenient and un-linux-like, I noticed that during the bootup, the Updating Shared Library Links takes a little longer after installing firefox or kde, is there a command I can run that does this after installing firefox or kde that dosen't require me to restart?

I wish pacman or the .install files would check to see if /opt/foo, the path that the package was just installed to, is in $PATH and automatically source /etc/profile if it's not. I'm pretty sure most do - however, that only sources it for root, not the user running - I have no idea, off the top of my head, if this works correctly under sudo.
