After formatting the partition and installing Firefox again, I wanted to get my settings, bookmarks etc. back by syncronising with Firefox Sync but accidentaly settings from a fresh browser was uploaded and now I cannot have the browser the way I used to have. Is there any way to reverse this changes?
Hi zoomy,
First check that you still have data in your sync account.
Firefox button > Options > Sync > Manage Account
It should tell you how much data is stored in the account. Is there any?
If there is still data in the sync account then you can follow the instructions in this article [[What is Firefox Sync?]]. Refer to the 'How much of my data is synced?' section. Change the option to 'Replace all data on this computer with my Sync data'.
I hope that works for you.
If there is no data in your sync account you will be able to get it back by syncing from another computer. Just make sure that the settings on that computer are not replaced by the blank account again. You can use the 'Replace all other devices with this computer's data' option to prevent this.
Please note that Firefox Sync is designed only to sync details between devices not as an online backup tool. If you are formatting a partition it is generally best to backup your profile folder along with any other data. See [[Managing profiles]] for more detail.

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the disk image (dmg) file to the desktop

* Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data if you uninstall and (re)install Firefox.

What version of the OS did you upgrade from ?
Anything before OS X 10.8.2 may have an issue if the Logic/Mother board has been replaced and the Serial Number not "flashed" back to it.
In the Apple Icon menu use the About this Mac item.
In the new panel click twice on the line that tells you the current OS level
It will change to the Build number (and alternative count to the OS versions) and then the Serial Number.
If it is missing you need to get it replaced.
(It is supposed to be done on Repair or Refurbishment).
An Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider as the best choices.
There are apps you can download (They are Mac Model specific) but needs careful typing as it is a once only trip.

For some apps it seems impossible to determine the price before, or even after, installing them. How can I get round this?
Can you be clearer about what you're seeing? The price should be clearly stated up front... Is that not the case? Note that there may be additional taxes that will increase the final price, and that can't be included in that up-front listed price, since taxes are different everywhere.

Apache JServ will not take files from system class path. This information is to be given in jserv.properties through wrapper.classpath. It is much similar to how we install JPDK. I guess you have added urlservices.jar to the classpath using the above method.

I too, want to restore to my older version of Firefox after upgrading to version 4. Thank you for posting this with a link to the older version. Just for your information, the reason I want to restore the older version is because the new version is not usable with my version of Zoom text (9.11). It is so incompatible that I had to use IE in order to see the screen well enough to search for a way to revert to my older version. I also was unable to read web pages, enter data in the URL or Search windows or select menu options. . Often, when using version 4 big black blocks will appear where ever the cursor is, the menus will appear in different sizes and when I move the mouse to select a menu item the menu will jump to a new location. In short it doesn’t work at all with Zoomtext!
Really I wish you would have warned us of how different this version is and it might have been a good idea to review potential problems before upgrading. That really would have been the nice and polite thing to do! I'm visually impaired and having to search for a solution and then having to go about the un-install and re-install process is time consuming and difficult for me. And again, it was so bad that I had to use IE to even be able to read this webpage, enter this reply, or to get to this solution. -

Hmmmm... would appear that you need to be actually logged in to enable the additional menu features.
Have you tried deletting the plists for MAS?

I bought a new computer, and downloaded iTunes, therefore the new itunes doesn't have my music or anything on there. I want to get everything on my iPhone to my new computer/itunes. But no matter what I do, it won't let me. My desktop has everything that my phone has on it, I just want it all moved to my laptop. Does that make sense? I could really use some help. I don't live with this desktop anymore so I need to be able to use my laptops itunes. Please help me. Thanks in advance!
These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have iOS devices and haven't moved your contacts and calendar items across then you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then seeRecover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

Do I need to install boot camp on Windows 7 as well as on Lion? I already installed it some years ago on Leopard when installing Windows Vista on my Macbook Pro. But now after installing Windows 7, many things in windows doesn't work (sound etc.). I made a clean installation because I needed to go from 32 bit to 64 bit.

Lion's Boot Camp Assistant 4.x should have downloaded Apple drivers as part of also partitioning.
You need Apple drivers. And you then need to add on your own audio driver.
You can run Assistant at any time to download and save a set of drivers. -

Thanks for reading!!I think there's a cover all warning that it might reformat the player and therefore you should backup. As long as you're on a v firmware it won't reformat, but you should always backup anyway when doing something like a firmware upgrade (and in my opinion you should always backup full stop).
With the firmware reload, you just run the function from Rescue Mode, and it will take a few seconds. Then you connect the player to the PC straight after this (don't turn it off and on) and run the firmware upgrade. -
1) I have multiple accounts at the iTunes store and none are now associated with my purchases...I think because passwords have been associated with various id’s and I can’t log in and access those purchases. I want to get back to being able to use one id and password and be able to access those purchases.
2) When I upgraded my iPhone 3gs, to the latest version 5.0.1 (9A405), is when I noticed that i couldn’t update my applications. There are two names/accounts on the phone and prior to the update there was just the one. I have tried entering every conceivable password that I have ever used and get the incorrect password error every time. The apps on the iPhone are apparently associated with several/different accounts. I just want to get everything back to the way it was. Have you completed all windows update including service Pack1? If not, please complete all the windows update then follow steps below to re-install all over.
1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
