After installing iOS7 i cant restore from icloud

did a backup on icloud just before installing ios7 and now i cant restore the back. i get a message saying the server is unavailable please try later but it seems to work fine on my gf's phone. have i lost everything?

I have just been told that you can't do a backup to iCloud, don't know if that helps or not, but I can tell you that the amount of people trying to do the new download has caused my satelite Internet provider to CRASH!

After installing iOS7 update my ipad magically wanted a passcode to open. I tried several of my usual passwords but none worked and it disabled for increasing lengths of time. Eventually after reading up a bit about it I strated to restore it to factory settings but was interupted your this process and was unable to complete it fully (to be honest I'm not keen to do this anyway as I don't want to lose all my data - photos, and fail to see why I should simply becasue of a bug in iOS7). It is still not working. I have had Apple support on the phone twice as each time I get through the restore process it comes up with an unexplained error (3194) which they keep telling me is because I have a firewall preventing it from happening. This is wrong because I have removed the firewall and it still comes up with the error message and will not restore. I now have to take it to the guys I have had look at my computers from time to time to sort it out (presumabley at my cost). If and or when it gets to the point to restore, yes I can restore from iCloud an should get all my data ok but I shouldn't really have to go through all this drama as the iPad is only very new and still under all of it's warranties etc Completely unimpressed with this whole thing.

After connecting my new iphone 5 to iTunes, I did not choose restore from iCloud Backup or iTunes Back up. I just clicked on New iPhone, because I was installing a new iphone 5 with a different carrier and sim etc. Now I don't have the option to go back. I have backed up my old phone to iCloud, so should I click on - Restore iPhone to get all the saved data from iTunes?

I found the answer in another discussion group, so I have just erased everything through settings on my new iphone and in Backups on itunes, I have clicked on restore back up. So it appears to be working.

Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings. This will not affect data. Remove the car speakers from the phone under Bluetooth, and remove the phone from the car stereo. After that place both devices back into pairing mode and reconnect.

There is no way out.
Restart the restore procedure and make sure you are connected to the wall power adapter and have Internet connection.
Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
At the end it will ask whether you want to restore, choose iCloud backup.

settings > general > reset > erase all content and settings, once complete the set up assistant will ask if you have an iCloud back up, follow on screen instruction to restore from it.

I did a search on "recovery mode loop"..you might take a look at the following threads to get some ideas...some mention is made of "USB conflicts"..not sure how valid that is.....they also mention doing a hard power down of the device...sounds like if you absolutely can't get it out of recovery mode, a trip to the Genius bar will be necessary...

A response I put together from another post. Also going into iTunes and choosing to sync phone to iCloud then back "this computer" sometimes works.
First thing.. Stop where you are. Don't try to sync, update, hard reset, iCloud... Just stop.
Check on your phone under 'SETTINGS' 'GENERAL' USAGE'. It should show some value for PHOTOSTREAM. Also, connect to iTunes and you will notice at the bottom of your phones summary page that there is a large amount of 'OTHER' data.
I used third party software called iExplorer (formerly iPhone explorer). In this program you select 'MEDIA FOLDER', then 'DCIM'. In the various apple folders (IE: 101APPLE) you should be able to preview your photos and copy them to your desktop.
From there sync them back to your device through iTunes or whatever method you use.
There is a simpler solution I'm sure, which may involve using iExplorer to delete some .plist files then restart the phone and let it rebuild. I'm going to try it myself AFTER I've finished copying all the photos to my MAC

Restore from iCloud backup hangs on iOS7

Hey,
I updated my phone to iOS 7 yesterday and was stuck with the problem that neither music app nor podcasts and many other things (iTunes sync, spotlight search , etc were not working).
One of the suggested fixes were to delete everything from the phone and restore form iCloud backup, which I did this morning.
After the phone restores the settings and other things, it reboots and you can see the Apple logo and a progress bar on the screen, Sadly the progress bar stops at about 20% and does not move anymore (waiting for about 4 hours now). If I restart it it gets stuck again, if I restore it and use a different, oder backup it will get stuck too.
This is very unfortunate, as my phone is basiclaly bricked now (if I do not want to start out with a new phone and loose everhting in my backup, which I really do not want to do.
Any hints?

They would only be stored in your backup. If they didn't restore properly all you can do is try restoring the backup again.

HT201418 After restoring from iCloud to new device - strange Apple ID popup on the phone

I have change my iPhone 6 to 6+. I have done backup of the old iPhone to iCloud. When I started restore process - iOS system gave you a question with Apple ID (is this your Apple ID?) as always with strange one. I guess system is always giving suggestion to the Apple ID account latest backup was done to the nearest server of iCLOUD. Of course I have deleted this stranger Apple ID suggestion for restore and I have applied my own APPLE ID.
Restore took some time and was successful.
ISSUE - many times iOS want to connect to iTunes - pop up window is appearing having again suggestion of the same STRANGE Apple ID. It;s annoying and I do not know how to get rid out from my iOS.
I put my normal Apple ID with credentials into iCloud and iTunes setting on iPhone but still strange one pops-up

You probably needed to update the iOS on the new phone. When it's done, set it up as a new iPhone, then disconnect it from your computer. Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings (provide the password if prompted), go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup and follow the prompts. Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger while it is restoring the backup.

After installing iOS7, my photos, all apps/games had gone. I can see the photos from a data recovery programme but couldn't recover them. Any chance that I can restore the previous version and recover all the data?
I didn't back up as I have changed laptop recently too, so the last back up time was long time ago.

I updated on iPad. As I had new laptop, so I didn't back up anything on the new laptop, the old one was long time ago, so photos taken recenlty had all gone. I can see the photos from a data recovery programme (trial) but is there any way to recover them without buying the programme?

UnSatisfaction after installing ios7.

After installing ios7. My 4s became very lag. And whats more is that there are apps exit by itself.
Even safari did that. Really frustrates me. Especially when u are play game half way through.
As i was typing this, it lagged. Even worst than android phones.
And when change to Chinese, it takes the system 1 or 2 second to react and show the words i have typed.
IF ios7 is not suitable for 4s. Shouldn't apple inc state it before it is even release?

Found this in another thread. I'm trying it out now.

I got a new phone and it didn't restore from iCloud. I tried to restore factory settings and restore again but there's no iCloud option. Can I get all my info back? iCloud is driving me nuts.

Also here... I have the same problem. After updating to IOS 5 and Itunes 10.5 I can see my Backups on the Preferences / Devices and the no "Restore from Backup..." option on my Iphone on Itunes. I think I tryied everything! I reinstalled Itunes, I reseted Iphone, I even installed Itunes in a PC and moved my Backup File (and also in the PC ITunes it showed on Preferences/Devices), i scorched the net after the solution to this same problem... PLEASE HELP!!!!!
