Please help, cannot open itunes after uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times. Each time I receive the error message, "

I downloaded the latest version of iTunes on my PC. Now I cannot open iTunes. Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. Head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (Although the procedure is for Vista and 7 and you've got XP, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

I uninstalled Apple Application Support, opened iTunesSetup with WinRar, and went down the list of msi's. AppleApplicationSupport was an install, all the others I did Repair. Did not have to reboot. Works okay now.

I updated iTunes today (Windows). I restarted the computer but when I tried to launch, I get the message, ""The procedure entry point AVCFURLAssetInheritURIQueryComponentFromReferencingURIKey could not be located in the dynamic link library AVFoundationCF.dll".
I then did a new install of the latest iTunes version and got the same problem. No more iTunes.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

I set the owner/permissions of my profile's mozilla folder's (and all the files in it) to read/write access, and the problem disappeared.

In the normal course of events, an uninstall/reinstall doesn't touch your content files. (That being said, it's always a good idea to have a backup in case of disasters.)

I tried uninstalling 7.0.1 and reinstalling it and still it would not update and problems such as losing my bookmarks, and it having different tool bars and add ons each time I opened it. I lost so many bookmarks and it became so frustrating that I decided to try and upgrade to see if that would overcome the problems. And now I have this problem. When I did a search on my hard drive to see how many firefox components there were I found firefox related files and documents all over the place and wondered if I should just delete anything related to firefox to clean any residual files that might be causing problems and then start a clean download, but I didn't want to delete files in windows and wasn't sure what I should delete and what I should leave. Can anyone help?? I miss my firefox and wish that I had never upgraded to 7.0.1 .

I've tried running repair, uninstalling and reinstalling with several steps of install failing. ITunes ran fine prior to this upgrade (upgrade reminder for itunes and quicktime). Now I can't even start Itunes. Help.
I tried even restoring to a previous restore point on my pc and itunes still won't run as it says it's missing some files.AVFoundationCF.dll is part of Apple Application support, so unless you dealt with that repairs and reinstalls of iTunes will be ineffective.
The simplest thing to try is a repair of Apple application support.
Failing that, try a complete removal of all iTunes components using the method here:

Don't forget the part about deleting files.
Download a fresh copy of the iTunes Installer, saving on your PC:

Then try reinstalling. In case security software is interfering with things, it's worth disconnecting from the Internet and disabling all security software during the install. -
