After installing latest update the contact photos don't show on incoming call

Possible iTunes issue:
Try the following after adding photos.
Go to file
Then Home Sharing
Select photos to share
Click on All Photos already selected Do anyway
When Apply turns black click on Apply
Now go to Apple TV to see if photos there
Or restart iTunes.
Works for me every time photos do not appear on my Apple TV 3

Did you update the apps? Check app store. Most of them had updates to support the iOS 5.1.1. It's been out a while

Try to restore your iphone via iTunes or update to ios6.1.2.
If itunes gives an error with restoring (DFU/Recovery or just normal)
try this:
open your computer and search on windows; C://windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts
open up the hosts file in note pad you will see IP adresses and more add another line and put in this:
#74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
this is a by-pass to the cydia/saurik restore server, it has nothing to do with jailbreaking over voiding apple's warranty

Error message after installing latest update

Since installing latest update 11.0.2.26, I am receiving error message: An unknown error occurred (-42110)
Itunes does work, however, when I close this message down.
Can anything be done? What does it mean? Am I better off just holding out until the next update and hope it fixes itself?

Today, after installing an update to my Acrobat XI Standard, I am getting an error message when trying to save .pdfs from an email to my server. The error message is: The document could not be saved. There was a problem reading this document (21). Any way to fix this?

Cannot connect to iCloud server on iPad after installing latest update

After installing latest update Realplayer recording no longer works, I think Mozila is using a library file with the same name

After installing the latest update to Firefox onto Vista operating system the record part of real player no longer works, I think Mozila and Real are using a library file with the same name and the Mozila update is overwriting a Realplayer library file.

The same thing happened to me today. I trusted the "update" message since it was from Adobe, and apprently did so at my own peril. Now I get the "failed to load Core dll" message with a secondary reference to a memory address.
Just an observation, but what good are these forums when there are no answers? I see this problem as "Caused by Adobe Update", and would expect them to troublshoot and offer up a remedy. Since you've been waiting over two months with no response, I suppose it's time to trek off wasting more of my precious time to fix their problem. If I find the solution, I'll post it back to you.

After installing Firefox latest update I cannot access "messenger options" under the options tab. The other tabs, themes and mail options work when clicked but nothing happens when I click "messenger options" It works fine in IE.

T60 WLAN COMPLETELY GONE after installing latest Update Intel Wireless WiFi Link for Windows XP

I just reinstalled a T60 from scratch TWICE to the point of updating - Intel Wireless Wifi Link for Windows XP -
Just after that very latest Update (3.1.1.1 or so?) there is no WLAN possible and I had to find out, that a system restore is impossible either! (Simply does not work and asks me to get another point and try again)
I have a full backup done by acronis 2010 so that does not bother me so very much.
The point is that I like to WARN everybody to install that Update to their T60 e.g. 2008YWJ !!!
(contains 3945AGB WLAN Module!)
After Updating U HAVE NO CHANCE TO REPAIR IT! U get always the problem signature
szAppName: AcSvc.exe szAppVer: 5.6.1.33 szModName: PfMgrApi.dll
szModVer : 13.0.0.2 offset: 000d4912
and the System wants to report that stuff to MicroSoft...again and again...every time u
start AccessConnections.
U can DEinstall AccessConnections and Intel Wireless Wifi Link for XP completely, reboot
and REinstall it....just 2 get the same messages and NO WLAN anymore.
I could not get out of this Driver Installation Hell until I did a complete Recovery Install and
I got back to Hell when System Update REinstalled Intel Wireless WiFi Link for XP
automagically...;-(((
And again NO CHANCE to roll back, No chance to get rid of that annoying bug. This time I have an ACRONIS-Image so I can spare some time....

Why is XP System Restore not working on an T60 to roll back to Point b4 installation of this Update???
(I could not use that Thinkvantage-System Recovery because it did not even get all its updates by the
time the system went in limbo during install! What i defintely can say is that it breaks at exactely
same point when Intel Wifi Updates is installed...
I do my Acronis Restore now and try 2 avoid this Update....;-(
if anybody KNOWS how to get that system 2 an earlier point of an install orgy i whould be thankful to get that information...

gal9000, welcome to the forum,
have you tried running windows system restore from safe mode? It usually works then because some anti-virus softwares will prevent it from running successfully from "normal" windows.

After installing latest update Macbook won't start up.

After installing the latest update my macbook won't start up. Instead of the login screen I get a flashing map icon with a question mark. My uncle says that means it can't find the startup disk and I had to startup from the install disk holding C but it didn't work. I'm quite desperate because I need my macbook for school (writing & producing music). I type this on a friend's computer... How can I fix this? Or do I really have to go to a mac store and part from my macbook for an unknown time...? :'(
I don't exactly know what version I have (can't check it now either) but it's at least 10.6.something and I always install the updates...

Anything unusual happen during the 10.5.3 update installation phase?
What type of iMac are you using? Your tag says G5 but also Intel core processors - it can't be both.
Try this:
-First unplug your computer and wait 10 minutes
-Next, simultaneously reinsert the power cord while pressing the power button for 5 seconds then release
-Press the power button again to start the computer - this resets the computer's system management unit (SMU) which controls your machines power functions.
-Next, press/hold down the P/R/option/command keys for 3 Apple chimes. This clears the machine's PRAM. After the 3rd chime release those keys and immediately hold down the Shift key to put the machine into Safe User Mode
-If you get to a log-in screen (may take several minutes as repair functions are occurring on the boot), log-in. When the login is complete, restart the computer as usual.
If no go, I suggest taking the machine to a certified Apple tech, or if you live near an Apple store to the Genius Bar.

G4 will not boot up after installing latest update

Just installed latest OS 10 update (10.4.8 or 9?) Mac will not boot up. The ring sounds on start up and the apple shows on video but it never gets to the rotating circle. It has been over an hour. I have restarted twice to no avail. I have also disconnect all peripheral. Do you have any suggestions as to what to do next?

Welcome to Discussions!
Try a boot in safe mode (startup holding"shift" key after chime). This will help determine if you have conflicting drivers, fonts,etc. present, and helps bypass damaged software components:

If successful, run Disk Utility. If not, try a single user boot, and run fsck:

Alternatively, boot from your OS install disk, and run Disk Utility.

HP Power Advisor has stopped working after installing latest updates

I have been using HP Power Advisor successfully on my Lenovo X230 running Windows 7. After installing the latest Power Advisor updates it no longer works. I can select a voltage from the dropdown on the Input Voltage screen but nothing happens when I click on the Go button, as if it is disabled. I've tried re-installing the download package which works fine but it stops working again as soon as I install the latest updates. Any ideas how to solve this?

Well on the website for HP power Advisor, it specifically says,
"Accurately estimate power consumption of your HP server and storage products"
There could be many different things interrupting your use of the program, but I'm going to say that maybe your largest problem with using the HP software designed for HP machines is your Lenovo.

After installing several updates, the system is unstable

I tried to install my mac mini server several times, all works fine, but after installing the updates from Apple update service, the VPN, Workgroup manager makes problems.
In the last case I installed the last great update for the snow leopard server and the last update was the Safari update. After the Safari update the connection is very slow and I get no VPN connection. Also when I start the workgroup manager for example I need 5 minutes to connect to the server.

Why did my iPad go into recovery mode after installing latest update?

I installed the latest update for the operating system and when my ipad 3 restarted, I get a unresponsive screen with a iTunes logo in the middle and a picture of the charging cord on the screen. It does not let me do anything with it. Any ideas?

Why it happened nobody can know for sure. Did the download stall? Do you run antivirus software that can interfere with the download? Did your internet connection cut out?
There could be any number of reasons why it happened. Were you able to restore the iPad and get it up and running again?

I have just installed Updater IPod 2006-01-10. Should I now delete/uninstall the folder that has the previous version of Updater in it? I think I know the answer but would like some reassurance before I delete anything!

Once you have installed the software on your iPod it isn't necessary to keep the updater installer stored on your computer.
However, wise heads around these parts keep at least one version that is known to work in case any newer version you may install on the iPod in the future contains bugs and causes problems. Read some of the posts on this and other iPod forums to see how some folks have wished they'd never updated the software on their iPods but can't roll back a version because they've deleted any others they may have had stored on their computer.
Apple don't keep older software updaters available for download, and they are very often difficult to find online. If you are worried about them taking up storage space, why not save them to a CD?
You just never know when, or if, you may need one.
