You will need to upgrade your suite of MS programs.
Older suites, like MS Office 2004, use program versions written for Macs with PPC processors. In order to use those apps in pre-Lion OS's on an Intel-processor machine, it was necessary to install Rosetta, software designed just for the purpose of using PPC-apps on an Intel machine.
Unfortunately, Lion does not support Rosetta, so those apps no longer work.
Solution - update them to a version which will work in Lion, such as the MS Office 2008 suite, or newer if available.

DNS server refurse to start after installing MFC-7820N printer driver

Last night I installed a new printer driver brxubprt11c.dmg for Mac OSX 10.4 V.1.1.0
This morning I could not get the DNS to run, which had been running for months. I would start but immediately stop again. I try to save the setting again with a small change but alas. The apple tech support had me check my hard drive and repair permission, but alas. They recommended that i read "getting started supplemental manual" and did a new DNS setup.
This night I decided to copy all the setting (I took screen captures and dragged the DNS Config.plist to my desktop. Just in case, I changed the log setting to "debug"... Maybe it would tell me something... I started it up...but it kept running...
Does this make any sense to anyone? Does anyone has a guess how saving the log setting might have got the thing back to work? Does it save only the change in the log file or the whole DNS Config.plist?

After installing mavericks, office for mac 2008 is slow, unresponsive a lot of the time, and slows my whole mac down if i want to do other things at the same time. Is there a solution that doesn't involve spending loads of money on a newer version of office for mac?

I've installed iWorks 08 on my MacBook Pro 2.8GHz but it doesn't work properly. The colours are wrongly presented. A kind of inverted.
I cannot work with these settings. If you prit it comes out ok.
But while working everything is white, white, white...

When did you install Pages08? Recently? You have to update iWork08 to latest version. Pages is in version 3.0.3. Use the Software Update check or for Pages this link [http://support.apple.com/kb/DL808]
Which version of Snow Leopard do you have? You state 10.6. The other day version 10.6.4 was released. Download the Combo version from here [http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1048]

After installing OS X Yosemite, iTunes application doesn't work!!

I just installed Yosemite on my MacBook Pro, and now I can not access iTunes! The icon is there, but it is unresponsive. All other applications appear to be working, iTunes is the only application I am having this issue with. Has anyone else had this issue, and is there a way to fix it?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

My apple ID doesn't work. Cannot find. Recently upgraded to 5.0. Ipad2. How can I fix. Tried my apple ID already.

My apple I'd disappeared after upgrading to 5.1. Had to create another user I'd to post here.

I tried everything you said but after I downloaded ICloud on my computer and tried to log in with the Apple ID that is my email which works on everything else, it says "the Apple ID email address cannot be verified. change your apple ID email address at appleid.apple.com to sign into Icloud" But I don't want to change my apple ID to a different email because that is my email.

Apache not starting after installing Lion

After installing Lion, my Apache local service doesn't start anymore.
in System Preferences > Sharing, the Web Sharing is not checked anymore.
If I (try to) check it, it try for half a second, and then is unchecked again.
No error message. I also reinstalled the last Xcode package, rebooted, nothing.

Commenting out that line simply disables mod_fastcgi (which might caus performance problems under a load).
In case you really need the mod_fastcgi to speed up apache2 you can easily compile and install it given you have the xcode development env installed.
(i've chosen the latest version which is a snap but still roughly 2 years old.)

While waiting for DataViz to rewrite the app, get another hard drive and install 10.6 on that; re-start from there, you can then open Passwords Plus. Use whatever method you like to copy the data. A bit of a chore yes, but I can't think of another way.
There is in the AppStore Ascendo DataVault which performs the same function. I am going to wait a week for DataViz, then jump ship.

After the update the home sharing doesn't work anymore

Last night I had an update from my Apple TV. After I updated it, the home sharing doesn't work anymore on any device. Not on my iPhone, iTunes, iPad, nothing. I double checked every setting and this isn't the problem. I have the newest version of iTunes. Please help!

• Use Disk Utility to repair permissions and then
   download and apply the 10.7.2 Combo Update:

• Repair permissions again immediately following the system restart
   that completes the Combo update.
The Combo version of updates can sometimes correct
strange problems like yours.
For camera problems in web video, you may need to update to the current version of Flash: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
