  • After installing ios7 my ipad keyboard is very slow for texting, emailing and entering passcode.  very slow

after installing ios7 on my ipad the keyboard is very slow, delayed.  text, email and passcode.

Hi Knackerman, I was racking my brain trying to think how I did this and then I remembered that at the time because of other problems I was having with my iPad and it was under extended warranty, they offered to replace it for me.
When I went to collect new one they asked if I wanted the to download iOS7 and they replied, NO, I did not, well that was enough for me and I told them to please leave it as is.
I just ignore all the reminders I receive to download iOS7 on my phone and iPad.
I am very happy with my 6 version.
I am very sorry I am unable to help, I know how you feel, I hated it, it caused so many glitches to my otherwise perfect iPad before instalment.
Overall though, I think Apple has to shake itself up, they are getting left behind in the Samsung wake.

  • After installing Mavericks my computer is running very slow, After installing Mavericks my computer is running very slow

Two days ago I installed Mavericks to my MacBook Pro.  The computer is very, very slow. I did not have that problem before.  Also as I change between windows the whole screen is blurred with horizontal lines.  Once safari, email or another app opens up it take a few minutes before I can actually use it.  The cursor pauses like crazy.  Quite frustrating. I checked the captibality before downloading and it met all the requirements.  Help please!!

  • After Installing Lion My MACBOOK PRO Stopped recognizing my Canon 4400 scanner..

I get a message stating that my computer no longer recognizes PowerPC programs..
    What does that mean ?
    Has my scanner become garbage?

This is the forum for PPC iMacs.
You have an Intel Macbook Pro.
Try asking your question in a relevant forum: the Macbook forum, the Lion forum, anywhere but here.
But yes, Lion does not support PPC applications nor does it have Rosetta.

  • After installing Lion, my iMac (early 2009) is slower than before

I installed OSX Lion and I noticed a severe drop in performances of my iMac 24" (early 2009), particularly when opening and closing applications.
Is there something to do to speed-up the iMac?

same issues and not sure how else to speed up my system. Anyone? Please help! It's killing me.

  • What is the best way to install Lion if I have a very slow internet connection ?

This installation is going to be a very big problem for me and I am ****** that no CD will be available.I have a Mac Pro and I can't go carting that around to an Apple store over 4 1/2 hours away.Trying to download huge files is a nightmare because it can take days and sometimes does not even mount when downloaded.I can't even use my connection for anything else while I download this big a file.

I would suggest you wait until August and Apple starts selling Lion on a USB flash drive, as they announced yesterday that they would do.
    Regards.

  • After installing lion my macpro is very slow

After installing lion my Macv pro became very slow. takes long time to start ad to shoot down. Is there any fix for this?

Lion does best when you do a clean install on a new drive, then use Setup or Migration Assistants.
You're going to have to show / ask what old stuff you carried over from before most likely.
Then again, people complained when Snow Leopard came out. And before that there was...
To say it starts and shutdown more slowly is the surface superficial and doesn't say how installed, what, even the model Mac Pro and how it is configured.
You are going to want to use Safe Mode and Lion Recovery and backups for starters most likely.
reset SMC For "Mac wont' turn on or boot" and related

  • Slow wake up after installing lion (Macbook Pro 2010)

    Hi there,
After installing Lion, my Macbook Pro 15" takes a lot longer to wake up from sleep than before (taking 10 or more seconds, instead of 2 seconds in Snow Leopard).
Am I the only one seeing this? I did a normal install (upgrade from SL) from the Mac App store. RAM is 8 GB.
    Thanks!
    FR.

I seem to have fixed this issue. I ran Disk Utility and it showed error in the file structure. I rebooted into to Lion Recovery partition and ran Disk Utility, did a repair, and now (for the time being) it wakes as expected without all the whiring fans and falling back off to sleepland.
One gotcha with the recovery partition boot is that it doesn't recognise Magic Mouse, and I had to dig out my USB mouse.
Hope this info is of some help.

  • After installing Lion, macbook doesn't read cd

My macbook doesn't read bland cds/cd with media on it. It doesn't show up in itunes or finder. Everything was fine when I had snow leopard. After installing Lion, my macbook has stopped reading cds.

they dont show up on the desktop but if you go to burn a cd in itunes with the cd recongized there? there is a setting under finder prefrences that allows you to turn off hard drives and cds and such to not be visable on your desktop, but it would be if you opened up the finder or itunes, also the first time you put in a blank cd it will ask you what the default program you want to use it with is, and if you click dont ask again it wont, but it will still be avaibale....is it not working all together or ust not showing up on your desktop

  • My macbook pro is very slow after installing mountain lion

my macbook pro is very slow after installing mountain lion?  Is anyone else having this issue?

If you don't use an SSD and bump your RAM up to 8 Gb's you may experience slow speeds, but I noticed slow speeds with your general configuration in SL.
one thing you should consider right now is, Spotlight is Reindexing your hard drive, that takes time and resources, (resources which you don't necessarily have to spare).
If you continue feeling like your performance is slow, you have a few options with this computer (I have the same one).
the express card slot can house a wintec SSD drive. That little door on the side of your machine is pure gold for a really quick solution for speeding up your machine. I have one in mine right now i'm using as a scratch disk for CS6 but I used to boot from it, and the speed boost was out of this world.
You could take out the internal HDD and put in a new SSD (I have a Vertex 4 from OCZ) it is completely over kill but my experience is pretty fast and I keep up with the later MBP models colleagues have.
There are some other options for you like taking out the optical drive (however I don't know if I'm supposed to talk about that here). Google Data Doubler.
You need to also set it to always use the 9600 chipset, this will increase performance a lot too. to do this go to system preferences>energy saver>Better Performance. This switches the video card to the better one and makes a world of difference.
Lastly, your RAM. after an EFI Firmware update, our computer support up to 8GBs of RAM. Do it!
    Late 08 MBP 2.53 GHZ 9600 chipset 8gb ram, Vertex 4 SSD
