After installing Lion, some of my perviously saved files are missing. How do I get them back?

I had them saved in folders and subfolders on my desktop and now they're missing. Help?!

It's not just upgrading to Lion that causes problems. I'm losing files all over the place on a brand new Mac with Lion preinstalled.
Just lost an entire days worth of Final cut work (automatic saving failed, or saved to a location I can't see) and files i export from Final Cut are dissapearing into the ether...
I've installed "Find Any File" and still can't find the missin files.

- If missing have yu tried using the Spotlight search and trying to find them?
- Have you tried downloading them on your iPad and then syncing?
- Have you tried deleting them on the computer and then syncing? That might also delete them from the iPad so you can redownal them
- Have you tried reetting the iPad?

Hi Folks,
after about 10 hours of usage, my new (and I mean new and expensive) MacBook Pro refused to boot. The support folks were good and as I hadn't yet created and files on the machine suggested I just did (as suggested by apple) a wipe and re-install as described in the subject line.
Now I have no iPhoto, no iDVD and a few other apps I don't really care about. What can I do to get them back.

hmm, I knew I was missing something fairly obvious. I went into AppStore and the apps were there with an "accept" option rather than a price. I've started the download.
I've no idea if this means I'll be charged or not. I never got a screen with a price on it so hopefully not.

If he used his own Apple ID that is what probably caused this to happen. It is your decision - but my advice is to use one ID and one ID only on your iPad.
If that is what happened - and If you want to download your apps again - go to Settings>Store>Apple ID - make sure that you are signed into your own account on the iPad. If you are not, sign out and sign in with your ID.
Then go to the App Store, tap on the purchased tab, find the apps that you want to download and download them again.

Are you absolutely sure the app is installed? Go into the App Store, search for Facebook and tap 'Free' and 'Install' if they are available.
If it says 'installed' then make sure you don't have it hidden away in a folder, by dragging down from the center of the home screen and searching for it.

Only way to get it back is to restore your phone from a backup, if those pics were included in that backup.
But most likely those pics are gone.
What you should've done was import http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 the pics to your computer and after you restored from your old backup, you could sync those new pics to your phone via itunes.

Right click the song on iTunes and hit obtain album info I believe. Then sync.

i think i might have to go into apple hopefully they can do something about it... i also enjoyed using it as an ipod too.

I'm assuming all of your extensions were on the Add-on Bar. The Add-on Bar has been removed in Firefox 29[1] but you can get it back easily using an extension[2]

You don't. You buy one and only one download. it is your responsibility to move/copy/backup your music.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.
Use you backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod: File>Transfer Purchases

You can not put them back in the camera roll. The camera roll is temporary storage for new photos taken with the phone. You can sync them back to your phone in another album using iTunes.
As for whatsapp, ask the developer. That is not an Apple product.
