After installing mountain lion the airplay icon does not appear
Do I need to perform additional installations or set preferences to have it shown in the top menu bar?
Your model iMac doesn't support Airplay mirroring. Airplay in iTunes should be available.

After installing Mountain Lion, iMessages and Facetime does not work. When I try to sign-in I get a message that says: The server encountered an error processing registration. Please try again later. After 4 calls to apple and 8 and a half hours on the phone. The apple people does not how to solve the problem. I just verified that i have an early 2011 Macbook Pro and the airplay icon does not appear. i also have a 2013 Macbook Pro which shows the airplay icon. do i need to enable airplay on my early 2011 or is there an update that is needed? Confused.
To check your model go to About This Mac (by clicking on the Apple icon, top left) and then select more info. If you wish to use mirroring you will need one from 2011 or later running OSX 10.8 or later. The alternative would be to use 3rd party software like Airparrot.

Since the update, we cannot play music through the Bose Air. Neither the Airplay or Airdrop icons appear in the control screen as it shows in the support page. The devices are all on the same network & the speaker is working - it will play via Airplay on the Mac.

OSX Mountain Lion: Running app icons do not appear in the dock
It's almost 2-3 days that I have found when I run an application in OS X Mountain Lion, the application icon does not appear in the dock. In other words, the icons in the dock remain unchanged and no other running application icon appear in the dock. Does anyone else have the same issue?
I appreciate your time to answer my question.Since you're having issues in multiple accounts I suggest you repair the HD and re-install the OS. ML makes the process pretty painless.
Boot up holding command-r keys into your Recovery Volume.
The screen should give you these choices...
Restore from TM backup
Reinstall Mac OS X
Get help online
Disk Utility
First choose DIsk Utility and run Repair Disk. If you find errors run it until all errors are fixed or it reports "Disk cannot be repaired".
Then, choose Reinstall OS X. This will be an install in place and won't affect any of your own data. -

All of my local mailboxes (On my Mac) disappeared from the sidebar. However, I do not have the 'triangle' on the Inbox that I can turn to reveal the list of mailboxes -- that disappeared too (and nothing happens when I hover over "Inbox"). I do know that the mailboxes are still there, somewhere, because when I go to create a New Mailbox, I can navigate to "On My Mac" and the entire mailbox list shows up there in the dropdown. How do I get them back onto my sidebar if the option to do that is no longer on the "Inbox" icon? -

I am trying to set up iCloud on my iMac and the iCloud icon does not appear in system preferences under "internet & wireless". How do I proceed. I have already set it up on my iPad & iPhone.
You have to upgrade to Lion for the iCloud preferences to be available.

I downloaded AirPlayIt yesterday from the app store. It was on my iPad yesterday. Today, however, the app icon does not appear on my home screen. When I go into apps it is there but it doesn't have an "Open" choice. There is only a cloud with an arrow pointing down. When I click on the app it pops up but there is no open button. How can I remove it? Tapping it won't work as it isn't on my home screen.

I had home tuning running fine on my mac. Since introducing apple tv the home sharing house icon is missing and will not allow me to drag and drop from home sharing. I have read other blogs that say if the house icon does not appear then home sharing is not set up correctly. Any suggestions as it seems to be running fine except for letting me move files.
