After iOS 5.1.1 upgrade, there is a "No SIM" error on iPhone 4S!

I bought an iPhone 4S from USA last month and I want to use it in Turkey. Actually, I have just used it for last three days. But yesterday, I updated it with iOS 5.1.1, and then iPhone can't see the SIMcard, although I haven't touched the SIM. Now, it returns always "No SIM" error. So, I can't use my iPhone anymore. How can I solve this problem?

Hi,
No, it's never jailbroken.
My simcard was old, I changed it with a new one, 256 K. Then iPhone can see the sim. I think the problem is about supporting issue of iOS 5.1.1 for sim's version.
Thank you for your quick response, KiltedTim.

Ubeyde

  • Battery drying up after IOS 6.0.1 upgrade in iPad 3

    Somebody please help...
My iPad 3 battery is drying up fast after the IOS 6.0.1 upgrade.
In a matter of half an hour the battery has gone down by 10% which is really surprising and sad. Mine is a wifi model and without even playing games or any other battery eating graphics, this is now acting crazy even if I do normal web browsing.
This iPad is just a day old...yes I took this one yesterday...and by now only Apple broke my heart...Apple should come up with a new update..
Is anyone out here got this same issues?

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • IPhone 4S bricked after iOS 5.0.1 upgrade

I just tried to upgrade my iPhone 4S to iOS 5.0.1 with iTunes and I got an error message before it could complete.  Now my phone is not recognized by iTunes and the phone only shows the connect to iTunes logo.  I tried rebooting the phone by holding down the lock button and home button but it just shows the Apple logo then the connect to iTunes logo.
I'm using the latest iTunes version on Windows 7 x64.
Any help would greatly be appreciated but I'm not very hopeful I'll be able to fix this myself.

The restore on my second computer worked and I was able to sync the phone with my main computer to get everything back on it.
So, for anybody that runs into the same issue here's the steps I took to fix it.
    1. Install iTunes on a different computer
    2. Plug in the iPhone to the secondary computer
    3. Perform a factory default restore
    4. Unplug the phone from the secondary computer without setting up the iPhone.
    5. Plug the iPhone into the main computer
    6. It should ask if you want to restore from a backup
    7. Wait for the sync to finish.
Not entirely sure what went wrong to begin with but I did send off the crash report to Apple when it asked so hopefully they can fix it.
Thanks to the two responders that tried to help but luckily I had a spare computer to work with!

  • HT4623 I lost my apps and iTunes after a restore, but it says there isn't enough space on the iPhone 4. How do I know how much space needs to be freed up? I keep deleting photos and videos, but I'm still getting the same message.

I did an iphone 4 software update. It then asked me to do a "restore" in order for me to be able to use the latest iTunes. I did a "restore" to "factory settings" (this was the only option listed) thinking I'd be able to sync later and get everything back and ended up losing all my purchased apps and iTunes. When I open iTunes, "Welcome to your new iphone" and it says I can re-do the "restore" and choose my lastest update. I assume this will give me back my apps and iTunes. When i choose to do this, it says there isn't enough space on the iPhone. How do I know how much space needs to be freed up? I keep deleting photos and videos from the phone, but I'm still getting the same message every time I re-try. I don't want to delete everything, but I don't know what to do...? Thanks!

Thanks but I think it has something to do with the 'restore'. in the newest iTunes 11, when I click on the tab "iphone", it redirects me to the "welcome to your new iphone" page and asks about doing a 'restore'. I already did a 'restore', but it went to the original factory settings and I want to 'restore' to my lastest back up as of April 12. When I choose that option, it says my iphone doesn't have enough space. I don't know how much I need to delete in order to make it work. I've deleted lots, but it only has 4.1 GB available. I'm not sure why this isn't enough to do a 'restore'. I don't want to delete all my photos and videos, but maybe I will have to?...7.7GB is used up for that. I can't sync or do ANYTHING...

  • Voice Memos ceased working after iOS 6.0.2 upgrade

Voice Memos launches then crashes in one second on my iPhone 5, ios 6.0.2.  This began after the latest ios upgrade for iPhone 5.
I have done a hard reset; a restore iPhone and the standard Voice Memos does not function anymore.
Does anyone have a solution?  There is no other way to uninstall and reinstall the one single app that I am aware of.
    Thanks!

You do realize voicemail is a carrier feature.  What have you done to fix this, have you gone in and at least try to change the greeting?

  • VPN no longer working after iOS 8.0.2 upgrade

Hello, after the upgrade to iOS 8.0.2 we have some problems with VPN.
The connection runs always stable and we don't change anything on our infrastructure.
But since the upgrade the IPads/Phones always show the notification "could not connect the server"or else.
This could not be true. The server is available from other clients (not ios). We test it with Wlan and 3G like always before.
I heard that we should delete the VPN profile and create it new on the ipad but it don't solve the problem.
We use IPSEK with IKEv1 and a PSK.
Are there any changes on the ios VPN client??!
I hope you can help me.
    THX

Yes, same problem here. Tested on both 8.0 and 8.0.2. VPN will connect but will not pass traffic from the idevice into the network. I am able to ping the device from inside of my network to its VPN IP address. However, I am not able to get to any internal resources from the device. I have done some of the troubleshooting that is posted above with no success. I have rebooted the device, reset network settings, and I have reset the entire device. I'm testing on an iPhone 5 and an iPad2. I also have an iPhone 4s here that is still on IOS 7 that has a working VPN and can connect to all internal resources as normal. I contacted Apple support yesterday and after speaking with 2-3 people, all of whom acted like this was the first VPN issue they had ever heard about, I was told that a "Senior Support Agent" would contact me back. Right now I have 5 users affected by this issue. Those 5 people will have new Android devices before the End of the day. I have sent an email to the other 60+ IOS users instructing them NOT to update their device until the VPN issue is resolved. I will post any findings here including the phone number and extension of the Apple Support Personnel that I spoke with yesterday if I do not get contacted in a timely fashion. I can understand that a mistake has been made, but this issue is wide-spread and needs to be addressed.

  • Connectivity problems after IOS 7.0.4 upgrade

Hi there, I just upgraded my ipod touch to IOS 7.0.4 and ever since i'm having trouble connecting to Outlook, using the web browser, safari. Also my emails aren't synced with my mail box. Both work sporadically. I can access all other web pages just not outlook. Bizarrely my macbook is suffering the same problem as well since the upgrade of the ipod touch.
Has anybody experienced the same problems? Does it have something to do with icloud?
    Thanks!!

I have the same issue, after the update at this IOS version, the wifi connection ended to work....I restated 3 times completely the IPhone but the problem is still present.....
The battery now has the autonomy very low and the phone is very slow.

  • IPhone 5S fingerprint reader fails after iOS 7.0.3 upgrade

    Hi all.
I recently updated my iPhone 5S to IOS 7.0.3 and ever since then, I am struggling to unlock my phone every time. I press the home button and then I used to just leave my finger on the button and it would unlock. Now it just doesn't seem to recognise my finger is even there.
I lift my finger off and put it on again and nothing. I lift my finger off and actually press the button again and leave my finger there and sometime it unlocks, sometimes it doesn't. It doesn't even say "try again" it simply doesn't recognise I'm trying to unlock it. I'm ready to chuck the bloody thing at the wall!!
Has anybody else experienced this problem since updating to IOS 7.0.3?

I bought my iPhone 5s a few days ago. It came with 7.0.3. It works 100% of the time, but people were having trouble with it when they went from 7.0.2 to 7.0.3. A lot of times, when doing an upgrade, the fingerprint scanner problem can be solved with some simple troubleshooting skills:
    Troubleshooting steps:
First, if you have never rebooted your phone after the update, it helps to reset your phone. This is just pressing and holding the home button + power button until the apple logo comes on the screen (the phone will power off and then on. When Apple logo appears, you can let go of both buttons).
If fingerprint scanner is still hit and miss, you should redo your finger prints by go to settings->general->touch id & passcode->touch id. Delete all saved fingerprints (swipe to the left and press delete). Add fingerprints again.
If it still doesn't work or still hit and miss, you can always reinstall the ios. This can be googled. For me, it is too much trouble, so I go to the next step..
Finally, if that's still no good, you can always take it back to the apple store. The warranty on it is a full year so it is free for them to just look at it and tell you if it's a hardware problem. I know cuz I have replaced my iPad, iPhone, and even my macbook this way. No, I don't do it on purpose, but apple products has flaws too. Especially if it is a hardware problem, I need it replaced - and since it is still under warranty, it is replaced for free. So I don't hesitate to stick it in their face. Well, don't be mean about it though. Just say it like it is without the attitude and they will do what they can to help you fix it.
Tips: when you replace your phone, they may or may not give you a "refurbished" phone. That's the only thing I don't like about replacing my apple things. BUT since iPhone 5s is so new, the chances of you receiving a refurbished phone is quite slim... Or so I was told. So don't wait.

  • My iPad 4 Won't Charge after iOS 7.0.3 "Upgrade"

After upgrading operating system as requested by Apple, my iPad will no longer charge. It won't charge from USB, it won't charge from Apple branded wall mounted charger and it won't charge from either source with one of two Apple branded sync cables I have tried. Both the cables and both sources of power work fine with my iPod Classic.
The iPad now has no power at all, so no form of two button re-set will work.
I have to say I am a REALLY disappointed customer.

    Hi,
From what you have said two things may have happened:
    1) There is a glitch in iOS 7 meaning it does not recognise any chargers.
    2) During the upgrade progress, the internal battery or the internal charger broke in your iPad.
    Hope this helps!

I've tried with resetting all network settings, but no luck.
