There's a solution posted here that may work for you: iCloud Drive won't stop upgrading.

    Try a reset:
Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 second until you see the Apple logo.

  • IPad unresponsive after iOS 8.02 update, doesn't show up in iTunes, hardware reset (home and standby buttons both held down for ten seconds) not working

I have a 32GB iPad mini that was purchased new in June of this year. A little while ago, I started the iOS 8.02 download while it was plugged into a wall socket using an official apple wall to USB plug and an official apple thunderbolt cable. I then left for 25 minutes to get some food.
On coming back, I discovered the iPad with a black screen showing the apple logo. I thought this was just an ordinary part of the update, it was restarting or something after installation, so I thought nothing of it. Then, after another minute or two, the screen flashed blue and then went completely black.
Puzzled, I waited for another second and the apple logo reappeared as if the iPad was restarting again. However, after a few minutes, this happened again. This has been going on for the last half an hour, and I was wondering has anybody experienced this before.
As I stated in the title, it won't show up in iTunes, and the hardware reset or whatever it's called doesn't work. Also, bear in mind I had issues syncing it with iTunes the night before and it also seemed to crash a few times last night, restarting the iPad and bringing it to the blank screen with the apple logo for a few seconds before going to the lock screen. That didn't happen at all this morning though.
The iPad is not jailbroken, however, it does have licenses for gba4iOS, which is still installed on it, and a VPN license installed on it by the Hola app, which I deleted but never bothered deleting the license for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Colin how are you?
I updated my IPAD yesterday and have the exact same problem.
Itunes does not recognize my ipad. Home and standby also doesnt work.
Also have the blue thing every few minutes and the apple logo but it never goes beyond it.
    Have you solved the issue?

  • HT4972 Did I just lose everything on my IPAD for the last year because it said to update it, not giving an option to back it up first? Its updating with ITunes now but under the RESTORE option.  There was no way out of this.

My IPAD2 had a pop up message that an update is available, to close or click on details, so I clicked on details. It took me to an upgrade box, no back up options. I clicked to upgrade it.  It downloaded for awhile, then turned off, and when it turned back on, it directed me to plug into my ITUNES with the USB adapter, which I did.  When ITunes came up, it said I had to restore it before I could use ITUnes.  Again, no other options.  I am worried that I just lost everything on my IPAD2 for the last year, apps, photos, documents, settings, email, etc.  It is still downloading after 30 minutes.  Is everything gone and truly back to factory settings?  If so there was no warning for this at all, I'll never get everything back.

I'm not sure what happned either but If you are doing this via iTunes, iTunes should have backed up the iPad first. It can take a good bit of time when you update with iTunes on your computer because iTunes downloads and installs the entire iOS all over again. If you are running iOS 5 on the iPad, and you will be now, you can update OTA via WiFi in the future and the process takes far less time since you will only be downloading an incremental update.
If you are syncing on a regular basis with iTunes, you should have a recent backup. In the worst case scenario, you should be able to restore from the backup. And as stated aboce, you can download all apps again and virtually all purchased content from iTunes (if you live in the U.S.) and you can always sync your iTunes library back to the iPad.
Let the update finish and see where you are then. Come back if you need help.

  • My iCloud drive is slow to save and share Pages documents with my IOS devices

My iCloud drive is slow to update and share my Pages documents with IOS devices.  When I save a document to the iCloud drive I get a Cloud symbol in the Name line (behind the document name) and a bar in the Size column (like it's trying to save the document but is unable to do so).  When I see the document in the document list on the Pages app on my IOS device it has a gray line along the bottom and I can't open the document in the Pages app.

Same for me, too - for the last few days.  Reminiscent of a few weeks back when iTunes and Apple TV ground to a crawl.  Of course Apple system status is green.  After several days it just started working again.  At least with Mac iCloud I have tried to use multiple networks/carriers so now there's no blaming AT&T on this one.
Called support and got the extended wait time message.  Gave up.
Love my devices and software, but Apple really has poor cloud support.  They won't even own up to the issues.  If my employer didn't block dropbox, absolutely done deal I'd be off iCloud back with Dropbox.

Iphone 5 issues after IOS 8.2 update: all the iphones in the house receive the same phone calls ONLY while we are at home.  Any ideas on how to fix this?

That is a new "feature" described in Connect your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch using Continuity
You can turn it off by going to Settings > FaceTime and changing "iPhone Cellular Calls" to off

  • After iOs 5.1 Update iTunes Resyncing 'Some' Songs

Hello ... I will attempt to practice brevity here, especially because I've researched the issue, and have seen strings that date back to 2005, however, I have tried some of the suggested fixes, and nothing has resolved my issue. I am unsure if this is certainly an iOS 5.1 issue, but I have never encountered it until I updated to 5.1 from 4.2.8 this past weekend. I had reservations about updating for a while because my previous update resulted in serious battery loss, and I was simply given a new (refurbished) iPod Touch from Apple to address the battery issue. All very well, but I obviously lost all of my data/media.
So here it goes ... I started my update to 5.1 until I reached a point where it said that the device was being rebooted, and not to disconnect the device. I left the device plugged in, and it eventually came up with a screen asking me to choose language, etc., and started walking me through setting the device up. I then was given a choice to restore from backup, or set-up as a new device. I chose to set-up as a new device. I was then asked to connect the device to iTunes. I had never disconnected the device because I was never prompted to do so, so I just left it connected. I waited for a long while, and realized it was not going to finish the process, so I started researching that issue. In my case, I was stuck in a loop, and the prcocess would never complete, but it appeared that the new iOS was installed, so I had no other choice than to disconnect/reconnect and restore my device, which I did. This of course wiped out my media. Not terribly happy about this, but what can one do??
Ok, now I have 5.1 and need to go about putting my music back on. Note that I am very particular about my library and/or mp3 tags, and my entire collection is very neatly tagged using mp3Tag. I would also like to point out that I have never had any issues with copying music to/from my device before this update. I also manually manage my music/library, which have always done so, and do no sync podcasts, movies, etc. I use the device for music, a small amount of video's ... as well as apps. As I start adding music, I started noticing that after a loaded a number of discs, it appeared to be resyncing a number of items as I went along. This number increased as I moved along. If I selected an album of 10 songs to copy to the iPod, it would say: "updating ... 256 songs". It would first copy the songs I selected, and then I guess it would resync items already on the iPod. I say 'guess' because this sorta flashed by, and it was hard to tell what it was syncing. After a while, I decided something was amiss, and researched this issue. I saw different posts of 'resyncing' problems, and tried a few of the suggestions. Most of the suggestions seemed to point towards the tags, and I saw a number of suggestions to select all, choose 'get info' and make 1 change such as checking the box for album artwork, and then try syncing again. The issue persisted.
I then decided to start over. I wiped all of my music, and started slowly adding music and paying attention to any resyncing. Eventually, I found that it started with one song, so I investigated the tag, and nothing seemed amiss. It was tagged the same as the others. Nothing was off, such as album artist not being the same as artist, etc. All the tags are V2.3, and always have been. As I moved along, the same thing was happening. It seems like it just didn't like certain songs from certain albums, and they would be added to a list to resync. At least that's what it appears.
I'm really unsure where to go from here. I did do a full uninstall/re-install of iTunes, which did not resolve the issue. I was thinking of renaming my iTunes library file(s) to .old, and starting a new library, but decided I would post here to see if anyone else has experienced this?
I started over again this morning. I wiped all the songs, and started adding them again. What's interesting, is that now, when I select say, 12 songs to copy, it says it's updating 27 songs, and as I watch the update, when it gets to the 12th song, it just finishes ... even though it says it was updating 27 songs. This is so odd to me, and I never experienced this before this update, so it made me think it had to do with the way the new iOS is reading tags??????? I have no idea.
Thanks to any/all for reading, and providing any assistance they may have.
    Cheers!
    -peter

I have more info.  I am using a program to look at the files on my iPhone.  I did some testing and I came up with this.  When a photo is edited ( in my case cropping) an image is created in the Metadata folder.  The metadata folder is contained in a folder called PhotoData.  For some reason, the cropped JPG is put within this metadata folder.  The  DCIM folder contains the "actual image" you saved from the internet or wherever.  When a photo is edited in camer roll, a .XMP file is created for that image (Sometimes) and it's about 1kb.  Coincidentally, the image that is pixelated DOES NOT have an .XMP file associated with it in the DCIM folder.
To conclude, it seems that the pictures that have a .XMP file associated with it in the DCIM folder does not come out as pixelated.
If there is a .XMP file then the photo in the Metadata folder become pixelated.

  • IHome no longer works with iPhone 4s after iOS 6.1 update.

My iHome no longer works with iPhone 4s after iOS 6.1 update.  Prompts message 'This accessory is not supported by iPhone'.  Has anyone come accross this and is there a fix?

Ring up iHome and ask them for a fix... And if they cant supply you with a fix... Then you should be entitled to a replacement or a upgrade, as firmware upgrades on your ios device should not affect audio products......

  • My ipad 2 wont work after IOS 6.1 update

    Hi,
I have tried installing the IOS6.1 update after it asking my for the last few days to install it, now All i get is the itunes and USB screen rendering the ipad completely useless!
I have tried connecting it to Itunes via my laptop where is asks me to restore the iapd due to errors etc, everytime (I have tried at least 6 times) I tried to down load the Ipad update/restore file which is approx 780MBs it gets up to 386.8mb and 10 mins remaining where it appears to jam for several minutes before speeding up to the finish and then saying download failed/interumpted. I dont know what else to try as I have the latest version of itunes installed.
Will a trip to the itunes shop help? can they restore the ipad? it isnt in any kind of warranty now, how much will they sting me for? Im travelling to newcastle (our nearsest apple store for over 100 miles) tomorow anyway so may pop in.
    thanks in advance.
    Mike

Try temporarily disabling your firewall and antivirus software before you try to update again.
If you want to try recovery mode which is what Apple recommends if you are unable to update or restore your iPad, go here.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4097
If you want to manually download the update go here.

  • Problems after iOS 6.0 update with iMessage  and FaceTime

After iOS 6.0 update i had problems to used iMessage and FaceTime

Messages will almost send but stop right before completion. FaceTime will go through only after multiple attempts. After that iMessage will work for a little while. Have talked with folks at apple support but they did not have a solution. Have tried both closing out the programs as well as turning the iPod off and back on. Neither has solved the problem. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks for your help.

  • How do I get the contact photo to full screen size when receiving a call after iOs 7.1 update..?

how do Iget the contact photo to full screen size when receiving a call after iOs 7.1 update..?

I went to the link. I selected iPHONE.  There was a big iPhone icon above the comment box -- so I was absolutely, positively on the right page.  I spent five minutes or so crafting a constructive comment as to why I wanted the full photo feature back on incoming calls on iOS7.  Then...i noticed the box below the comment area asked 'What operating system are you on?'.  And the drop down selection list included every operating system since Job's garage days -- but not one single iOS entry.  No iOS entries on an iphone page.  Unless I'm missing something, I think anyone writing a feedback comment is wasting his/her time.
