After ios5 i no longer have any music on my iphone
I updated my iphone 4 tp the ios5 and when it was done i no longer have any of my music on my phone. i tried going onto itunes on my computer to re sync it back but it doesnt work. any help on how i can get all of my songs back to my iphone?????
Uncheck them in the iTunes > Tones sync settings and sync, then check them again and sync.

but now I have no music files in my itunes when I open itunes....is there a step I missed?Your iPod can only be synced with one computer at a time. If you try to sync it with a new computer/iTunes library, it will replace the contents of the iPod with whatever is in the new library. You should probably disable the autosync functionality first by going to Edit -> Preferences, clicking the Devices tab, and enabling the prevent iPods,iPhones, and iPads from automatically syncing option.
Before doing anything else, authorize the new computer with your iTunes Account. In iTunes, choose Store -> Authorize This Computer and enter in the correct credentials. Either copy a backup file from your old computer to your new one or create a new backup of your iPod in iTunes before letting it sync.
Then right->click on your iPod Touch from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes and choose Backup. You might also want to take a look at this article to see what it all included in the backup.

Now onto synced content such as music, videos, photos, etc. For iTunes purchases you can copy them back into iTunes by choosing File -> Transfer Purchases. Since downloading ios5 on my iphone 4 a few days ago, the capacity guage in itunes shows "other" as over 21Gb and i can no longer fit any music on my iphone.
How do I get rid of the other stuff?
capacity available on 32 Gb iphone is 28.49Gb
i previously had 21.97 Gb music, over 6 Gb photos, about 1Gb of apps, and minute amount of audio
now i have no music, 5.4 Gb photos and similar (0.8Gb) for apps and audio. i have deleted heaps of photos and unused apps to try to make space but obviosly this is a much bigger problem. I also created a smaller music folder on itunes to sync to but at present no music is selected for syncing due to the lack of available space.
i have 15Gb icloud account now also which is about half full.
Ive done a little research and heard similar tales but with much smaller other totals than this. Can you help?
i cant update my apps as i get a message saying i do not have enough available space.I had the same problem today and was able to resolve it without having to do a restore or reset. The problem had something to do with my mail accounts. The upgrade reset my mail settings, switching both my gmail and my .mac mail to "archive all mail". I went into the General Settings, disabled that setting, and resynced the phone. The "other" storage allottment dropped back down to less than a gig.
Before you restore or reset, I would try that first. -
I updated my iphone 4 with iO6.1. I no longer have any music on my phone even with itunes match. I've turned my phone off and on. I've turned my imac off and on. I've turned off imatch on my computer and turned it back on. I've turned imatch off on my phone and turned it back on. I spent HOURS on this yesterday. Coincidentally, two of my playlists were deleted from itunes. So I spent quite a bit of time recreating them only to find them missing again today. The ONLY way for me to get music on my phone is to click on the ...more tab and go to shared and pull music from my actual desktop. Restoring my iphone is not an option. I am completely frustrated so if anyone can help, that would be great

Take the following steps:
1) while connected to wifi, toggle off then back on the Show All Music and iTunes Match options shown in my original post. Important: I did this step before, but wasn't connected to wifi, and my music disappeared. Subsequently, I connected to wifi and turned off and then back on those options and everything came back though it was grayed out and my only option was to download music.
2) To get streaming over cellular back, go into Settings>General>Cellular and scroll down to the "Use Cellular Data for:" options and make sure the iTunes option is set to 'On'
The above steps will bring back the streaming capability which seemed to go away when you update to 6.1. It didn't ACTUALLY go away, but something about the update toggled off the iTunes option in step 2 above.
I did a final test by turning off wifi, opening Music app and selecting a song. It played successfully without downloading! Crossing my fingers, but I think I'm good to go!

All my music was on prior to syncing. The sync deleted all my music. I can now no longer add any music. I have the "sync music" checked. Restoring factory settings did not work. Any thoughts?
When you synced with iTunes It would have tried to replace the music on the iPhone with what is on the computer. which is what happens when you sync with iTunes.
If the songs are purchased you can re-downloaded them Pretty easily. You mentioned that you still see the songs and that you could not play them. Do they have a Cloud symbol next to them? If so this means that you can download them but that they are not on the device. -
After updating with IOS7, i can no longer control the music on my iPhone with my car controls. I have deleted the phone and re-synced it twice????

Go to your account in the iTunes Store and look for the De-authorise All button in your account's details. Use the De-authorise All and then authorise the PCs you still have.

Problem with search
After upgrading from 8 to 9.0.1 I no longer have any search engines installed. I would like to install Google as my default search engine. When I click on “get more search engines” I cannot find Google or Bing or …I resolved my issue. Renamed search.sqlite and reinstalled Firefox 9.0.1

I have my old iphone which is a 3g and I am trying to transfer all my music to my new iphone which is a 4s. All my music was saved on my computer but of course I had to put it in the shop and no longer have the music:( It is not showing up in my itunes account where it used to be. How do I transfer from 3g to 4s when only pics show up???? Someone please help!!!
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything on the computer, then sync.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup, not good, then you can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone to your computer - File>Devices>Transfer Purchases -

I no longer have the music on another computer (I no longer have the original computer) and the only other place I put the music was my Ipod that I lost. (Im sure its somewhere in my house, but can't seem to find it)Whether you can re-download your past music purchases will depend upon what country that you are in. On the iTunes store home page on your computer there should be a Puchased option under Quick Links on the right-hand side of it - go into that and see if music is an option for re-downloading

Since updating my iTunes I no longer have any controls. iTune covers the entire desktop and I cannot add from my files. Prior to updating I had a perfectly good iTunes which would allow me to stories for including on a iPod.

I bought a new computer and tried to authorize it. It states that I already have 5 computers that are authorized. I no longer have any of those 5 computers. How do I deauthorize all of them, as it is not shown as an option, as my new computer since it is not authorized.
ThanksYou can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
1. Open iTunes on a computer
2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

i no longer have any of my songs, ringtones, apps, photos etc, on my macbook anymore due to a SSD upgrade. i did not want to back up any files from the old hard drive as some were corrupt and i did not want that to transfer over to my new hard drive so i started from fresh. what i would like to know is, if i now sync my iphone with itunes, am i going to lose all the content on my iphone because there is nothing to sync it with or, will it transfer all the files onto my computer and i will have them again? or is there a way to do that before i sync and lose everything i have gained on the phone?

It's called "iTunes". Connect the phone, but do not sync, when it appears in iTunes choose "transfer purchases..." from the iTunes File menu. -
I don't have any music on iPhone 5
Can anyone help or suggest advise - I have an iPhone 5 and I've setup iTunes Match on my phone. But I dont seem to have any music on my phone.
Whenever I go to the music app I just get a blank screen and the outline of the cloud icon. After a few seconds there is a blue progress bar that reaches about 3 quarters of the way across and then cuts out.
Does anyone know what I can do to resolve this?

Sync your iPhone to iTunes to copy the iTunes purchases to the computer.
Or iTunes prefs > Store.
Tick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases then click the Cloud icon after the song names to download them.
