  • ITunes substituted older versions for my Playlist.

I drug 23 audio files from outside iTunes into a new iTunes playlist. However, iTunes immediately loaded older versions of those audio files (that had the same file name) from my iTunes library instead-and without any warning. What's with that? This is a serious matter. I was making practice play-along audio CDs for members of my band to use, and iTunes substituted older versions of the tunes--that had the same file name--from my iTunes library into my new playlist so the CD I burned from that playlist then had outdated versions of our tunes on it. This is not good. How do I keep iTunes from doing that?

I USED to be able to get a playlist or two, I had gotten 5 GB of music back on it by putting 1-2 playlists on, ejecting, plugging back in, rinse, repeat. Now iTunes locked up AGAIN, checked the iPod, NO MUSIC. Really glad I bought this ******* piece of **** two years ago! Totally worth my money!
Now, on top of all this, I find this in the help section.
    Symptoms
You may notice the following symptoms on your Windows PC after installing the iCloud Control Panel, iTunes 10.5 or later, or Safari 5.1 or later:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
    iTunes is slow to respond.
    Windows is slow to respond.
iTunes stops responding when backing up or syncing with an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Oh, so you mean that since you guys released 10.5, (and its now up to 10.6.??) people have had this issue of their iTunes not responding? What the ****. So basically since 10.5 people have had their iTunes not working correctly? Fix this crap.
I already did the LSP check thing, only one besides the apple one are two windows ones that are up to date and should be there. There is no other help to be had. What a joke.

  • Can't download songs because itunes wants older versions of it 7.4 and 7.2

Okay here's my issue. I want to buy a new song from iTunes and most songs come up with this error. It says I need to download 7.2 or 7.4 versions of i Tunes, but I already have 7.5!! Plus everytime I open up iTunes it says I need to update to 7.5 even though I already have it. I thought iTunes must be running off of older versions of itself so I deleted all the old itunes set-ups exceot for the 7.5 versions. But I still keep getting all this updating problems still. Did I do something wrong and accidently erased 7.2 and 7.4 versions I still needed? If so, how do I re-download them??

    hi,
I don't know exactly how to solve your issue. But iTunes really doesn't need any older versions to run in order to work properly. Therefore, you haven't done anything wrong by not keeping older versions. But when you download an iTunes update, you do not need to uninstall manually previous version. You should simple let the iTunes updater do its work.
It appears to me that somehow your system is beleiving that you still have a version older tan 7.2 despite the fact to you have 7.5 installed. This is why it is asking you to update. It may be related to your manual removal of your previous version.
Have you simply try to reinstall 7.5?

  • HT1925 I am trying to update Itunes in Windows XP but after going through the installation process I am getting a message saying "The Older Version Update cannot be removed. Contact your technical support". What do I do???

I am trying to update Itunes in Windows XP but after going through the the installation process I am getting a message saying "The Older Version Update cannot be removed. Contact your technical support". What do I do???

"The Older Version Update cannot be removed. Contact your technical support".
Doublechecking before proceeding. Is it saying the older version of Apple Software Update cannot be removed, or some other program? (Several different program names can be mentioned in this context.)

  • Unable to upload new version after downloading noticed mac not compatible, can I get older version I have 10.4.11

Tried to upload Fire Fox 5. When I tried replace the icon has a circle with a line through it. After looking into it further I noticed my system is not compatible. I only have mac 10.4.11. Is there a way to get an older version again. I really like Fire Fox.

    For older Macs that aren't supported in Firefox 4.0 & 5.0, try TenFourFox for PowerPC's running Mac 10.4.11 & 10.5.8 . <br />

Otherwise, Firefox 3.6.x is the last version of Firefox for PPC Macs. <br />

  • Need help in adding a folder library (on external hard drive) to ITunes.  Older versions had "add folder to library" option...

I have an external hard drive that has a huge music library that I wish to make my Library in ITunes.  I have already set the location of the library to the hard drive folder (under Preferences/Advanced).  In the older versions of ITunes there was an "add folder to library" option.  After selecting that option, ITunes would then take a long time to analyze the songs in the new folder and I could then transfer songs to my IPad.  The new ITunes has an "Add File to Library".  I selected *.* to include all artists and songs in the library, but ITunes does not begin to analyze the songs and artists in the hard drive.
How do you get Itunes to recognize the songs and artists in the new song directory?.

As long as you don't have an existing library that is synced with a device or holds oodles of carefully crafted playlists, ratings etc. then...
Hold down shift as you start iTunes. You should get an option to choose or create a library. Click create, browse to root of the external drive and click save so that your library is say X:\iTunes where X: is the letter of your external drive. All new content downloaded to the library will stay on the external drive.

  • Cannot update Itunes. Older version of Bonjour cannot be removed

Trying to update Itunes, but dowload stops stating 'Older version of Bonjour cannot be removed'     ' Ask your Technical support group'
I am computer stupid and do not understand any of this.    Is there a simple way to overcome this?

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove".
Restart the PC, and try another install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Delete itunes reinstall older version

    delete itunes reinstall older version

Here is some instruction to completely reinstall iTunes/quicktime
You must have quicktime to use iTunes
Note: Songs you purchased from the iTunes Store or imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default and are not deleted by removing iTunes.
    Quit iTunes.
On the Start menu, click Control Panel.
In Control Panel, open Add or Remove Programs.
Select iTunes from the list of currently installed programs, then click Remove.
When asked if you would like to remove iTunes, select Yes.
After the uninstallation is complete, do not restart if you are prompted to.
If other entries were present for iTunes remove those as well.
In Add or Remove Programs, remove any iPod Updater applications that are listed in the same fashion as iTunes was removed.
In Add or Remove Programs, remove any QuickTime installations that are listed in the same fashion as iTunes was removed.
    Restart your computer.
After the computer restarts, open Local Disk C: in My Computer or whichever disk programs are installed on.
    Open the Program Files folder.
Right-click the iTunes folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Note: This folder may have already been deleted if iTunes was successfully removed in steps 1-8.
Right click the iPod folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
Right-click the QuickTime folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
Delete the QuickTime and QuicktimeVR files located in the C:\Windows\system32\ folder.
Right-click on the Recycle Bin and on the shortcut menu, click Empty Recycle Bin.
    Restart your computer.
Install the latest version of iTunes from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download.

  • After installing LV 7, MAX 3, NIDAQ 7, can not target to LV 6.1 RT even after uninstalling and loading older version.

We have started using LV 7 for all of our new projects but still have to support a number of older projects made in LV 6.1. After installing LV 7, MAX 3 and NIDAQ 7, we can not do remote DAQ configuration on the older version of RT and can not target to the RT system either. We used NIs uninstall for MAX and NIDAQ and then reinstalled the older versions, but we still can not remote DAQ configuration. Computers that have the older versions of MAX and NIDAQ and have never had the newer versions installed have no problem with remote DAQ configuration or targeting.
How can we go back to the previous version of MAX and NIDAQ and get it to work? What is left
    after uninstalling the newer versions?

    Rob,
I would recommend creating a Service Request on-line and contacting an Application Engineer. There are several possible reasons that software might not be completely removed, and we have some utilities that will make sure this does not happen. There also might be some issues with downloading the code to the "target". We could quickly reformat the controller and make sure to get the older software on the system.

  • Need older version of 64bit itunes

Does anyone know where I can get an older version of 64bit Itunes? I'm looking for maybe v8.0.11 or something. The latest version, 8.0.2 prevents all my purchased music as well as the itunes store previews to not play at all!! I'm hoping an older version may do the trick.

yes, I found this site that has all older versions of itunes downloads.

  • I can't install Itunes (The older version of Apple Software Update...)

I try to reinstall Itunes many times, but this message keep popping up :''The older version of Apple Software Update cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group''. So I google the problem, and tried many solutions that people says like use windows installer cleanup utility (and it says we're sorry, we encountered an expected problem downloading one or more components and can't run the troubleshooter right now. Please try again later) , delete ASU from add/remove control panel (It says The installation source of this product is unavailable. Verify that source exists and that you can access it).
Please help ~ What should I do?!? T.T

I have the same problem as yours too. It always says ''The older version of Apple Software Update cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group''.

  • Downloading 7.0 w/out losing another users older version files?

I would like to download iTunes 7.0 without losing another computer users files. If we have two iTune accounts on the same computer do we just have to make sure that we designate the files and folders accordingly?
When it asks me to save the files the C:/drive should I designate it to another folder than the default folder it shows?

Before doing upgrade install, make sure to backup to another folder the itunes.xml and itunes.itl files for each user. The new version will install over the older version , assuming you have installed to default location. If nothing goes wrong then the the new version will automatically use the original library files. If there are problems then use the backups.

  • Replacing newest iTunes with older version.

I uninstalled the latest version of iTunes (which I hate) and am trying to install an older version (10.7) and when I try to open the older version, I get the statement:
(The file "i Tunes Library.itl" cannot be read because it was created by newer version of iTunes)
Can someone please tell me how to get the older version to work?
    Many thanks

After working on this all day i was about to give up when i came across this on the apple site... and best of all - IT WORKS!!! My computer (running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit) and itunes finally recognizes my ipod 5th gen again!! Give it a try!
    Reinstall USB driver:
Right-click the iPod's entry in Device Manager and choose Uninstall from the shortcut menu.
In the resulting dialog box, click OK.
In the Device Manager window, right-click Universal Serial Bus controllers and choose Scan for hardware changes from the shortcut menu.
Windows automatically reinstalls the necessary USB drivers and attempts to remount the iPod.

  • Where can I download the source code of MaxDB (even an older version)?

Just want to learn some modules of MaxDB. But now I failed to find where to download it.
Is there any old archive for the older version of MaxDB source code for download?
    Thanks in advance.

At times when the sources were available I tried to build it on a "new" platform (Solaris x86 32bit) and I can tell you: it's NOTHING that is obvious. Building OpenOffice or Mozilla may appear like an easy task. It took me months to get there and to be able to just build the 'build tools'.
On top, many of the sources are (historically) written in a Pascal dialect and are transferred to C with an own precompiler so there are three languages used (C, C++ and Pascal)  - so it's a pretty hard (next to impossible) job to learn some algorithms from those sources.
