After latest (4.7.4) KDE upgrade-Kontact lost all Calendar & Todo Entr
Hi,
I use the Kontact PIM on my fully updated Arch_64/KDE and di daily full system upgrades.
After the last upgrade, which, among others, included KDE upgrade to 4.7.4, I've lost all my (former) Calendar and ToDo entries.
Please advise!

Contacts are meant to be synched with the contact manager app on your phone or with a cloud service. If you failed to use your phone as recommended, your contacts are very likely gone.

I have music loaded from cd's. They were intact after each sync. After a iTune upgrade, I lost all the music at sync. Can I restore them from old backup in iCloud ?
Unless you'd signed up to iTunes Match then they won't be in the Cloud, only music purchased from iTunes (if you are in a country where music can be re-downloaded) will be there. Have you not still got it on your computer and/or on a backup which you can use to sync it back to the iPad ?

Restore it using the computer you normally sync with.

I have a similar issue happenning with my ipod touch 64GB running IOS 6.0.1. My music content is stored via itunes on my Snow Leopard macbook pro as well (and not in the cloud). The music on my ipod (which is sync'd to my macbook pro when I connect via usb) has randomly disappeared about 3 or 4 times lately, not during sync'ing and unrelated to battery charge levels. Fortunately I have been able to restore it by restarting my macbook pro then re-syncing the ipod, which it is now doing as I write, but it takes hours (for over 3000 songs). Having looked at a few other forum discussion pages, it seems this may be a bug related to IOS 6 updates and using music/itunes and podcast playing apps. The same thing has intermittently occurred with some other content such as downloaded podcasts, iplayer content and photos. Once I reconnected the ipod it synced and apparently restored the content, but I can't understand why it lost it in the first place, and its very annoying. Lets hope the reinstalling works on my ipod tonight....up to 248 of 3326 songs syncing as I write....

Try to check if iTunes made a backup before upgrading the phone. You can check via iTunes or use iPhone Backup Extractor. If there is, you can restore from backup to get your contacts back or simply extract them using the iPhone Backup Extractor. It's worth a try, good luck!

Lost All Calendars after new Upgrade
Being forced to upgrade I tried several times and never had luck. Finally this week I tried and was successful. Everything seemed fine. Today I opened iCal to add and entry. Suddenly all calendars were gone. They appear to be gone on mobile me. (Me.com) as well. I do have time machine back up if need be. I have tried deleting my account in iCal. I tried restarting, I tried typing in commands in the Terminal. I just get two calendars Home & Work with nothing in them.
I am using a Macbook Pro 17 and the latest OS. Everything is up to date.
Any ideas?
MMy experience was similar though not an exact match as I don't believe I lost the calendars on MM. But my recollection could be wrong. I did work through the problem though and was able restore my calendars and haven't had a bit of trouble since at either desktop or MM end.

In the latest Yosemite upgrade, my photos were migrated from iPhotos to Photos and lost all their titles. How can I restore them?
There is an Applescript, File Name to Title, provided by user léonie that will put the file name of any selected photos into the Title field for that photo. If there already is a title in that field under the thumbnail it will not replace it with the file name.

Copy the script above, open Applescript Editor and past it into the open window. Compile and save as an Applescript application. Put the app in the Applications folder and drag into the Dock. Now you can select images in Photos and launch the app from the Dock and it will do it's thing. It is a bit slow so can take some time for a large number of images depending on the speed of your Mac.
Just to be on the safe side create an album with a few titled and untitled photos and run it on them. -
After I had to reformat my computer I lost all the songs from my library.
After I had to reformat my hard drive I lost all of the songs from my library. All of the cds that I had loaded to my computer previously were also wiped clean. I had of course put them on my ipod so I was wondering if there was a way I could get all of that music back onto my computer.
Using iTunes your iTunes Music Store songs can be transferred back to computer. For other songs you have to use another program. Many are available online or in some stores.

Same here. Besides the phone randomly crashing all the time I now also lost my calendar.
I did a backup to iCloud and then updated the phone and I assumed it would get the data back from iCloud...
Anybody hae a fix for this? Do I need to trigger a restore in iTunes? It seems that the calendar is still on iCloud but I fear that the empty calendar on the phone will wipe that.
Really makes this device slowly unusable and not good advertising to upgrade the hardware.... -
after downloading mozilla update to 16.x.which had a problem when downloading i lost all my home screen details most of these i have resolved.but i have lost my freecorder 4 tool bar settings from my home screen(it still works in i.e.)could you advise how to resolve this concern please.
On the screen on the iPhone does it show a usb cable pointing up to the iTunes synbol?. If it does then your iPhone is in recovery mode and needs to be restored through iTunes on a PC/Mac.
Now in terms of the data you lost, would you know if you backed it up to iTunes/iCloud?. Did you sync data with iCloud at all? e.g. contacts, calendars. -
Apple advised me to reset after iOS 8 update. Now I've lost all my writing on Pages!
II'm in shock. Pages wasn't backed up onto iCloud. But that wasn't an option evident to back it up. Why wasnt I warned this would happen? I've lost all my writing. I can believe it.

The iPhone BY DESIGN will only synch to ONE iTunes library at a time. If you attempt to synch to a new computer, it will wipe all the iTunes data off your phone and replace it with what is currently on the new computer. There is no way around this.
If you don't want to lose music, videos, etc., then you need to copy your old iTunes library to your NEW computer before synching the iPhone to the new computer.
