After latest update 14.0.1 firefox has crashed 3 times in the last 30 minutes.

I recently updated to the latest version of FF and now it will just crash without warning. for example, I was trying to watch stuff on youtube and it crash.

Here are the crash reports for the two Crash IDs you submitted (shown in "More system details")

It looks like the problem is with BitDefender 2013 which may be incompatible with your installation of Firefox 14.0.1 and/or your installed extensions.
Try this first: Troubleshooting extensions and themes .... and it that doesn't help, see if temporarily disabling or uninstalling BitDefender resolves the crashes. If it does then contact BitDefender support. Related BitDefender forum thread:

my PowerBook G4 has crashed 4 times in the last week. I got a message that there is a problem with the Mac OS Kernal. Does anyone know what this means?

Kernel panics are usually caused by a hardware problem – frequently RAM, a USB device or a Firewire device. What external devices do you have connected? When trying to troubleshoot problems, disconnect all external devices except your monitor, keyboard and mouse. Do you experience the same problems?
To eliminate RAM being the problem, Look at this link: Testing RAM @ http://guides.macrumors.com/Testing_RAM Then download & use Memtest & Ramber.
Do you have an Apple Hardware Test disc? Running the Apple Hardware Test in Loop Mode is an excellent troubleshooting step for finding intermittent hardware problems. It is especially useful when troubleshooting intermittent kernel panics. If Loop Mode is supported by the version of the Apple Hardware Test you are using, you run the Extended Test in Loop Mode by pressing Control-L before starting the test. Looping On should appear in the right window. Then click the Extended Test button. The test will run continuously until a problem is found. If a problem is found, the test will cease to loop, indicating the problem it found. If the test fails, be sure to write down the exact message associated with the failure. In some cases, RAM problems did not show up until nearly 40 loops, so give it a good run.
May be a solution on one of these links.

• Firefox 23 Beta has crashed 5 times in the last hour since updating, twice with a BSOD failure of the video driver. I can't figure out another way to post this.

FF was running fast and stable until the Beta update tonight. Afterward it crashed repeatedly, sometimes with a total system lockup, other times with an unresponsive system, occasionally with a Video Driver failure leading to a BSOD.
I had to DL 22 release and roll back. I'm now on the release channel, not the beta channel.
System config: Dell Latitude 6410, Win 7 x64, 128 GB SSD, 4GB RAM, Intel video hardware. Everything is up to date.
Trying to get this out before it crashes again then switching to 22.
Java plugin is usually disabled.
Toolbars are ABP, download status bar and Disconnect.

If you are still getting blue screen crashes, make sure you've disabled Firefox's use of hardware graphics acceleration. With that feature off, it would be rare that Firefox would touch any privileged parts of Windows.
You might test in Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode.
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)
Any difference?
Oddly, that last crash report shows the Flash plugin still loading, even though you disabled it.
This is some standard guidance that addresses the most common issues with the Flash player. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:
(1) Make sure all recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them.
(2) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
(A) As described above... In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
(B) In Flash, see this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
(3) Disable protected mode (Windows Vista/7/8)
See this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?

• It has crashed 10 times in the past 10 minutes, even when I start a new session with one tab. I'm surprised it has stayed up this long to type this note. I just updated Mac OS X.

What is the location bar? Screen shot not a Mac screen shot. Tried "open location" and nothing happens.
Just updated to 10.6.7 on Mac. First time I tried to do this screen, Firefox crashed.
How do I keep this stupid thing up for more than 2 minutes?

I would reformat the drive then reinstall Lion:
Install or Reinstall Lion from Scratch
If possible backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive.
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Erase the hard drive:
Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer.

I have an iPad 1 and after I got the latest update for keynote and Now  it crashes every time I try to open it

Do you have iOS 5.1.1 on your original iPad? If not update the iOS.
You might also try quitting the app and then reset the pad.
Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it wiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
Still no joy? Delete the Keynote app, reset the iPad and then reinstall Keynote. You will not have to pay for downloading it again.

Firefox has crashed numerous times on me tonight, and I keep getting an unresponsive script error (Script: chrome://devany/content/main.js:254) regardless of what website I'm on. NoScript will not block this script, and it's popping up with an increasing and alarming frequency. It's completely crippled my Firefox, and getting the a large enough window between unresponsive script warnings to get the Troubleshooting Information from Firefox took me a good 20 minutes. It's a very persistent script. I've already re-installed Firefox and restarted my computer, and scanned for viruses/malware. I'm on a Mac, if it makes a difference.
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox opened
== Tonight. I can't say what site I was on, though I first noticed it on DeviantArt and thought it was their new layout producing problems. ==

yay, I had this same issue, and I too browsed deviantArt and also have got Deviantanywhere add-on installed. : D
I'm so glad that You've found a solution and shared it with us.
I was really getting worried that I'd done something to get malware installed on my 'puter. *Phew* !!
I'm going to disable DeviantAnywhere after I post this and hopefully this will be fixed for me too!
I actually hadn't kept my firefox up to date. but.. *shh...*
I updated it and after I did, it told me that there was a script running that was not responding. : )
yay for FireFox~

• Any ideas why my system locks up while in sleep mode? This has happened four times in the last several days. Thanks.

My mac has been locking up while it's asleep. This has happened 5 times in the last week or so. I know it still has power and I can get the caps lock light to come on. Moving mouse or pressing keys on keyboard has no affect. I have to force it to shut off and then restart. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hopefully I followed instructions correctly. Here's what I got:

• Safari has crashed 10 times in the past two days due to a plug in I do not have.

Safari has crashed 10 times in the past 2 days because of a plug in on my laptop called kidsPCTime.so. I have not downloaded this plug in and I can not find it anywhere on my computer. How do I fix it? I looked in the plug ins library and it is nowhere to be found. Why is this happening?

Hi ..
Unfortunately, your Mac has fallen subject to the flashback trojan.
Follow the instructions for etresoft's  User Tip here >  Checking for and removing the "Flashback" trojan: Apple Support Communities
Download the malware checker at that link.
Once the trojan is removed you can protect your Mac against the flashback trojan by using OpenDNS.
See my User Tip here >  OpenDNS is blocking the Flashback Trojan, or what’s being described as one of the single biggest Mac security incidents of all time.: Apple Support Communities

• Since my Firefox update this week, Thurdasday, it has crashed 10 times for no reason. What's up

Since the Firefox update was sent out this week. I keep having unexpected crashes. There does not seem to be a pattern. It does send you reports. But just this morning it has crashed twice. Yesterday it crashed three times and the day before two. I switched to using Chrome and have not had an issue.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
* https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
See:
* http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox

If you have submitted Breakpad crash reports then post the IDs of one or more Breakpad crash reports (bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx). You can find the IDs of the submitted crash reports on the about:crashes page. You can open the about:crashes page via the location bar, like you open a website.

• Firefox has crashed 20 times in 3 hours. Why?

Every time I open it, it crashes within five minutes. It's crashed 20 times in the time span of a little over 3 hours. I've tried updating my plug-ins, updating Firefox, ran a scan through my computer, and checked to see if the crash happened during safe mode(it did).
My Crash Report ID: bp-c9df9278-90c7-463f-bde9-3413e2130220

These crashes on Windows 8 are currently being investigated.<br />
Probably the only solution for now is to downgrade to Firefox 18.0.2

• After java update 7.51, seems firefox has slowed. anyone else?

Today's Date: January 24, 2014. updated Java on prompt at bootup a couple of days ago. Thereafter, seems that Firefox is somewhat slower in page changes, or clicking on links on some few websites that I visit regularly. I have no web design skills, so I don't know the terminology. I do hear the CPU/GPU fans revving up more than I recall.
I am using Firefox 26, or latest.

Hello,
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings and disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).
(If you're using an added theme, switch to the Default theme.)
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu by clicking on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item:<br>
<br><br>
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
* On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode <br>(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.
Thank you.

• Firefox has crashed 45 times in 24 hrs.

I am working from a brand new instal of Windows; also new video card, processor, hard drive. Last night Firefox was crashing every five minutes. It crashed once before I put on my addons, and multiple times after (somewhere around 30 times). I tried rolling back to an older version of Firefox and that crashed as well. It will either crash on startup, or it will open my tabs and then shut down.
Here is the information that might be helpful: https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/bp-864db5b8-b866-4d20-9f60-913862150406
I ran Firefox reset to get rid of my add-ons, but they were:
Extensions: Adblock plus 2.6.9, Amazon Smile 1button for Firefox, Norton Toolbar 2014.7.12.7, reddit enhancement suite 4.5.4, abd speed dial [fvd] 6.6.7.
Theme: Fractal Frost
Plugins: OpenH264 Video by Cisco 1.3 (always activate); Shockwave flash 13.0.0.277 (always); NVIDIA 3d vision 7.17.13.4788 (ask to activate) - 2 of these, one Vision and one Vision Streaming; and WildTangent Games (never activate/disabled).
It has crashed at least 3 times since I reset Firefox.

I am using Norton 360 (not my choice, my husband put it on to be "nice"). It pops up with gmpopemh264.dll is safe almost every time I open Firefox.
</blockquote>
The one factor that is necessary to eliminate the cause of the crashes is temporarily disabling Norton. If it crashes with it off, then we have ourselves a reproducible bug-> note to self jandern <-
When you disable, also try these steps: -> note to self follow up with jimb and till-> Rather disable the toolbar
I have confirmed that this is not an JIT issue since it does crash in Safe Mode. We will need to file a new bug with the steps to reproduce.
So Far I have these steps:
# Create a new profile
# Launch Firefox from start menu
# Crashes
With the new crashes, please list them separately with Norton on and Norton off, this will sift between the two signatures seen as well.
Thank you!!!!

Not certain, but any one of these could be the cause. A good starting point for troubleshooting is to remove the non-Apple stuff. This is best done by using an uninstaller that is hopefully available from the various developers.
FWIW, Cycling74 and razer often seem to crop up in kernel panic reports.
You may need to do some Googling/visit the developers sites to locate uninstallers.
If, after removal, the panics stop but you need the functionality of whatever these items relate to, re-install one-at-a-time (with the latest version of the software) and test. It'll then be easier to isolate the offender (if the crashes are in fact caused by one of them).

• Latest update (around 6 Mar 2015) has increased startup time from about 5 seconds to 55 seconds - why???

This is terrible. Such a delay.
I am not interested in "refreshing" Firefox because I would have to make a list - LONG - of all the changes I made over the years to it, in order to put it back the way it was.
So, why release a version that has caused such a negative performance?

Since Norton is causing that problem in Firefox, have you tried Norton support for answers?
https://community.norton.com/en/forums/firefox-extreemly-slow-start
Bottom line is that Mozilla builds Firefox , and provides multiple pre-release development versions over 18 weeks that can be used by developers to test their add-ons before release. Then other companies add on to Firefox at the time of release, or before if that company does beta testing with their advanced users.
Norton is the one that created this issue for their users, and they need to fix it; although it could be caused by Trusteer Rapport being used with Norton, as mentioned in that Norton support thread. If that turns out to be the case Norton has to work with Trusteer to get it fixed.

• The last 2 days, FireFox has crashed numerous times. What gives?
