After latest update Mountain Lion, fan never stop working!

Hi all
After latest update (26/9/2012 in my case) of Mountain Lion, the fan start working and never stops (Macbook pro 5,5).
Any other have sam issue?
Already tried to reboot SMC and delete everything starting from snow leopard but problem still exist!!!

I keep an old wired keyboard and wired mouse for just such emergencies, but that is not helping you now. There are at least a couple of things that could account for the disappearance of the Bluetooth preference pane.
There may have been a glitch in the installation.
The preference pane will not be displayed if the bluetooth transceiver was not detected when the computer started.
This may seem too obvious, but try completely powering down using the power button on your Mac mini. Wait at least 30 seconds for everything in the mini to fully discharge. While you are waiting to restart, check/replace the batteries in your wireless keyboard and mouse or trackpad. Restart using the power button on the Mac mini.
If that does not work almost anything else will require the use of a wired keyboard and mouse. For years I have kept a wired keyboard and mouse around for just such an emergency, but in a fit of spring cleaning they were discarded. I ended up having to buy a cheap USB mouse and keyboard at Radio Shack (under $20 for the pair but no command key). Install the OS X 10.8.4 (Combo) updater or
Boot into the recovery drive (Reboot while holding down Command + R) and reinstall OS X 10.8.4

When you start Messages fro the first time you are asked for an Apple ID
When this is verified and entered it appears in Messages Menu > Preference > Accounts and is Enabled.
The App should have also picked on on those iChat Accounst you had before.
These should be Enabled if they were when you last used iChat.
Exactly which "Accounts" are logged in can be seen in Message Menu > Accounts and will include the iMessage "Account" and Bonjour.
In the Window menu you will see CMD +0 for the Messages window and CMD+1 for the "Buddies" window which is a combined list at this stage.
Go to the Preferences > General Section and Untick the "Collect all accounts into one list".
This will give you separate iChat type Buddy lists.
You can check if that account/Buddy list is set to Invisible or if in the Preferences > Accounts > Security you have settings that will block some people from seeing you as On line.
You are saying Buddies can see you as On Line which implies they are still sending to your AIM based Names (@Mac.com is a valid AIM Screen Name)
I am not sure from your post if you are trying to iMessage their email IDs thinking they are Apple IDs and that they are using Messages as well.
There is no Buddy list for iMessages side
No-one can tell you are "On Line" until they have your details in the "To" spot in Messages with the correct iMessaged contact info (iPhone Number or Apple ID)
Obviously an Apple ID can be an email or look like one.
In some cases they are also valid AIM Screen Names as well.
In the case or the @mac.com name you may have linked this Apple ID to iMessages as well.

Macbook pro 15 2009 : After last update Mountain Lion my sound device is gone !

So workin great untill I push the update Mountain Lion , after that my sound device gone !
If I boot in BootCamp there I have sound, also I took my laptop to service and they try a lot of things ...... includint resets and boot from external hard drive with Lepoard = working !
Just in my Mountain Lion Update i dont have sound device at all .
So pls do something with your updates before realease to foks like me ! Dont put as to read a lot of forum posts without a solution !
Im very nervous about what you did from last year with OS's including iphone .

Why can't I boot after latest update for lion?

I installed the latest update for lion and now my computer won't boot. I got into disk utily it's saying I need to reinstall my os. Please help

Reinstalling Lion Without the Installer
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alterhatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. You can't run Windows on a Mac unless you use BootCamp or a third-party utility such as Parallels Desktop.
Perhaps you mean Microsoft Word (which is part of the MSOffice suite).
Only MSOffice 2008 and later will run in Mountain Lion.
However there are very good free alternatives, such as LibreOffice.

App Store: download mountain lion calculating never stops

Just purchased mountian Lion, it gets to about 74mb and then does a calculate on download time, but never returns, the download never continues... any ideas why?

It appears that if you are using a 2-Wire router from BT that it will stop after between 50 and 80Mb. This seems to be down to some kludge BT have put in to stop large downloads. I've found three workarounds for this - one is to contact BT and give them the serial number of your router and they can send a firmware patch. This doesn't help over the holidays of course. Another option is to enable OpenZone on the router, disconnect ethernet and connect to the OpenZone wireless - this is what eventually worked for me although initially App Store wouldn't connect via OpenZone (left it for a while and Mountain Lion was halfway done). A third way is to connect the laptop directly to the router in bridged mode with a PPPoE connection. Not for the faint hearted:
Disclaimer: Please do not attempt this if you do not know what you are doing. You will need to factory reset the router when finished so please ensure you have a note of all settings before proceeding. Also it's sensible to make sure the Mac's software firewall is on before doing this.
1. Set up an ethernet connection between the Mac and router. Test and make sure it works!
2. In the Mac network settings, create a new PPPoE connection. Enter your BT Broadband network login details
3. Log into the router interface and go to Settings > Broadband > Link configuration
4. Set ATM-Encapsulation to Bridged LLC
5. Untick the ATM PVC search box
6. Set Connection type to Direct IP
7. Scroll down and click save
8. Untick the enable routing box
9. Click the save button again
10. Go back to the Mac network settings and click connect on the PPPoE connection.
You should now have a connection which will allow you to bypass the file size limitation of the router. When you are finished, you will need to factory reset the router and reconfigure it as before. You can also delete the PPPoE connection.

This problem is not unheard of when upgrading from Snow Leopard. It is usually solved by completely deleting the existing printer in System Preferences > Print & Scan, and adding it again.

After Software Update 2007-004 airport card stopped working after wakeup

Hi,
I have a powerbook G4 - DVI running 10.3.9. After I have installed Software Update 2007-003, when my computer goes to sleep and then wakes up, airport card stops working. I had to open the back of the computer, unplug and plug the airport card, then it starts working again. But next time the computer goes to sleep, it stops working again.
Does anyone have a similar problem? Any work arounds?

Installing the Security update 1.0.1 from 5/01/2007 helped others. Reapplying the Combo Update again helped a couple of people.

After latest update, ID3 v2.4 doesn't work

After the latest update (10.4.0.80) on Windows 7 (64 bit) I am having trouble with ID3 Tags v2.4.
Any tracks that previously used v2.4 no longer read any of the information stored in v2.4
Also, adding tracks to v2.4 also causes the data to be lost.
Any solutions? Any others with this problem?

Solved. My 5 year old fliped the silent switch next to the sound buttons.

Latest update OIS - Makes all apps stop working

The lates OIS update, I updated my Iphone 4 a few minutes ago. All apps in the iphone that is pre installed does not work now. Some major bug in the new update?
