After Leopard install, geForce4 MX card will not run two displays

My two 17" Apple Cinema Displays were working perfectly until I upgraded my Power Mac G4 dual 867 MDD with a geForce4 MX graphic card to Leopard. My second display is now black. The display power light is on, the monitor is recognized in the display settings, the brightness is turned up to max and the display is black. I switched monitor cables and the problem followed. I called Apple and was told to try a hard reset, which did not work, and was then told to try nVidia.com for updated drivers. nVidia says this board was made for the MAC and is therefore is supported by Apple. I have been searching for a Supported Hardware List for Leopard hoping to see if my nVidia card is supported. Has anyone seen this problem or have any ideas.

Did you guys try turning on the "mirror displays" option? It's possible your second display was set to an unsupported resolution. In the displays system prefs pane there is a box titled "mirror displays", so each display shows the same picture. If the second display is set to an unsupported resolution, this will fix it by matching its resolution to the first monitor. From there you can turn off mirroring and have your extended desktop.

OK. Solution is goto ebay and pick up a ATI 9000 card. Doesn't sup cpre image, but dual displays are fine. Radeon 9800 doubled the fan noise on my MDD, not worth a ripple.

G4 MDD will allow install of OS9 but will not run it

I bought a used G4 MDD when mine shorted out after my dog pee'd on a USB hub! My old os9 disks installed OS9 w/o problems but this machine won't let me boot to OS 9. I've heard about a MAC OS ROM file but don't know what that means. I did erase the target HD with OS9 drivers but that didn't even work. OS9 option doesn't show up when I try to set Startup Disk. Any ideas from you OS9 Pro's?

It does have a FW 800 port.
That's the reason it won't boot to OS 9.
All G4 MDD models with a FW800 port are not bootable to OS 9. It's an inherent restriction in the chips on the machine; there is no workaround, neither a software nor a hardware solution, short of replacing the motherboard with one for a G4 MDD model which does not have the FW800 port.
...but will boot to the OS9 Apple Hardware Test CD!
Odd. Perhaps that works because the OS 9 System Folder on an Apple CD is non-standard, so modified that it will not work when copied to another volume, not even as Classic. On the other hand... are you sure the machine is booting to OS 9 from that CD? Could it be booting to OSX instead?
...and I still have a love for bootable Classic systems, although not for running classic on OSX.
I do also. OS 9 (specifically 9.1) has been my preferred OS for years, and until very recently has been all that I use. Marvelous that a 10+ year old machine and OS not only still work, but work well enough to meet most all of my needs.
I now also have a more modern machine running OSX, which I got because fewer and fewer websites and webpages could be accessed using OS 9. For my grunt work and routine uses, though, I still use the OS 9 machine (a G4 DA 733).
Don't know what to suggest re using the G4 MDD FW800. It's a good machine - it can do lots of stuff using early- and mid-version OSX's, and like most all G4 towers is very expandable.
Unfortunately the one thing it can not do is be set up to boot to OS 9.

Just got snow leopard install failed now Mac will not boot up?

I got a iPad and snow leopard very excited to use them I try to install leopard and it fails so I turn on the comp to try it again and I get the apple logo then the spinning wheel then it just shuts off and that's all it will do now!

Try inserting the instalation DVD provided by Apple and start the computer while holding the 'c' key down on the keyboard until you hear the DVD spin and some action in the DVD drive. If your mac doesn't start and show something meaningfull then, take it back to the shop it has a hardware problem, or your installation disc has.

After a recent Adobe update, CS6 will not run on my OSX 10.8

The icon appears disabled. When selecting the app I get the error msg: "You can't open the application "Adobe Photoshop CW6.app" because it is not supported on this type of Mac.
CS6 worked fine after upgrading to Mountain Lion. It appears an update that I downloaded from Adobe earlier this week could be the cause.

Sounds like something messed up the binary, or the OS settings for the app.
Try reinstalling Photoshop, and deleting ~/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.photoshop.plist

Itunes error 45075, itunes will not run help

from a system clean up and deletion of restore points!! iTunes ill not run I have tied reinstalling, repairing, uninstalling following with an install and still it will not run! I have obviously deleted something relatively important and now the computer has no restore point which will resolve my issue.
Help is greatly appreciated.

The 2096 erro may be associated with running in compatabilty mode, see:

None of the tick boxes on the compatability tab should be checked.
It is also worth checking iTunes.exe in c:Program Files\iTunes.

Airport Card Not Recognized after Leopard Install

After the Leopard install the airport card on my Dual 1.8 G5 is not being recognized (the airport menu reads "no aiport card installed". Of course there is a card and when booting a from Tiger there is no problem. It's a stock apple airport card. Any suggestions?

Interesting update...
After reading several other threads of semi-related topics, I decided that there's no harm in reinstalling the software. After placing in the disk and restarting you get the WELCOME splash screen. On the menu bar, you can choose to view the System Profiler prior to installation. My Airport Card did how up here - telling me that it's not a hardware issue. I'm in the process of re-installing 10.5 - which will take 1-2 hours to complete. I'll let you know how it works out.

After Leopard install, all three Airport Expresses will not work...

I have three Airport Express' that worked completely fine before I installed Leopard. After the installation, the Airport Utility will not even detect them. No matter how many times I try to reset them, unplug them, or yell at them, they will not be recognized by the Airport Utility. Currently, all three units are completely useless and just flashing amber. I have tried to look through the topics to see if anyone else has the same issue but, I could not find one that seem to be a duplicate of this problem.

My guess - are you trying to connect to them wirelessly?
If so, the only solution I found was to hook them up with an ethernet cable to the Mac.
Airport then finds them OK and you can upgrade the firmware / software to latest versions.

After refomatting HDD, reinstalling Vista plus service packs, recovering files from Microsoft backup and installing new copy of Firefox 3.6, Firefox will not run. Have deleted all old M0zilla profile folders and reinstalled Firefox again to no avail.

After intallation was completed, the automatic startup just placed a small box on the screen "Import wiz". This just sat there with no activity. After I closed this box, none of the Firefox start buttons would open the program -- just the blue rotating icon for about 2 seconds then nothing.

I have the same problem... but when i connect my MacBook Pro late 2009 on my cousin internet the facebook page works normaly. but when i reconnect in my wifi it stops to work again... and it only hapens with macbook pro, On my iPad, iPhone and PC the facebook page works properly. And another thing, when my counsins bring their Macbooks to my network, it stops to enter on facebook too... I already reset my router config everything and facebook dont work with anything with mountain lion... My router is a linksys wag200n and the problem started when i install mountain lion. WSUS 3.0 SP2 will not run after installing update 2720211

The update was installed and server rebooted. Now the WSUS console on Server 2008 SP2 will not run. "Error: Connection Error. An error occurred trying to connect to WSUS server."
The update service and IIS are both running.
When checking for updates from clients, they show a message saying their update software needs to be upgraded, but they fail updating.
I was going to uninstall the update, but there is no option to uninstall the update from the WSUS server.
What are options to fix this?

This page helped alot. Let me recap for others on the interwebs.
Cause:
- Applied KB2720211 to a WSUS 3.0 SP2 server thats running on Windows 2008 64 bit server with local SQL db.
What happened:
- I could no longer sync my WSUS server with the interwebs.
- clients could still connect to WSUS and I could still open the WSUS console.
- Uninstalled WSUS, left DB and downloads and reinstalled WSUS in attempt to fix broken syncing.
- Clients could now no longer sync with WSUS server. (They got Windows Update error code 800B0001).
Solution:
- Googled, found this page.
- Followed just these last few steps that Chucker2 posted.
Extract necessary files from 2720211 installer
Download the KB2720211 installer for your architecture from Microsoft (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2720211)
Extract WUSSetup.msp from the installer by running the installer with the /extract parameter (example: "WSUS-KB2720211-x64.exe /extract")
With 7-zip, open WUSSetup.msp and extract "PCW_CAB_SUS".
With 7-zip, open "PCW_CAB_SUS" and extract "DbCert", "DbCertDll", and "DbCertSql".
Rename those files to "WSUSSignDb.cer", "WSUSSignDb.dll", and "WSUSSignDb.sql", respectively.
On your WSUS server, navigate to "C:\Windows\SYSMSI\SSEE\MSSQL.2005\MSSQL\SchemaSig" and copy the extracted "WSUSSignDb.cer" and "WSUSSignDb.dll" to it. Make a backup copy of the two existing versions, just in case.
On your WSUS server, navigate to "C:\Program Files\Update Services\Database" and copy the extracted "WSUSSignDb.sql" to it. Make a backup copy of any existing versions of the file.
Reinstalled 2720211

Found the answer:
Java for OS X 2014-001 includes installation improvements, and supersedes all previous versions of Java for OS X. This package installs the same version of Java 6 included in Java for OS X 2013-005.
