After login - only seeing spotlight and nothing else!

Please help. No icons on desktop, nothing. Ran some troubleshooting but could not start in safe mode to access terminal.app to follow thru with some suggestions that I found thru google. Any ideas?

You don't have a Spotlight problem, rather it sounds like neither SystemUIServer nor Finder is starting. Since hardly anyone visits the Spotlight forum you would have better luck getting help by posting in the Using Tiger forum:

You can do many of the same things in Single User mode that you can do with Terminal, you just have to mount the drive first.
If I were you the first thing I would try is boot from your install Disk, then go to the menu bar and use Disk Utility to both Repair Permissions and Repair Disk.

How do you disable text cursor movement when scrolling horizontally with a tilt wheel or touchpad; or rather, how do you make these horizontal scrolling actions only scroll horizontally and nothing else?

Frequently when I use a touchpad or tilt wheel mouse to scroll horizontally, the web page does not scroll at all. Instead, the text cursor moves left or right. If the text box is off-screen, the page will jump to it, losing the spot on the page I was reading. This happens way too often given the sensitivity of touchpads and tilt wheel mice.
I'd like to just disable the cursor movement function of the horizontal scroll. I don't feel that it is useful and it actually hurts my web browsing experience. I do not want to disable horizontal scrolling though; I just want it to always scroll horizontally and do nothing else.

You would make this a little easier if you posted a link to the page.
Most of the jump seems to be some extra padding or margin between the tabs when you rollover, but I am not able to find it. Is there any other css that is governing this page? I did remove a couple of set of tags you had and it improved the jump, but it is still there.
If the page is live, run it through the validator http://validator.w3.org/ , fix whatever errors it finds, if you still have the jump, post a link to the page and the issue might get found.

When i launch mfireforx a page opens(mozillafirefox start page) with just only ffox ICON and nothing else(no sheet similar to yahoo)

2 weeks back our internet ofc changed my mozilla home page due to some minor mis-information from their side. Asked them to correct the situation. they told me to go to Tools and clean all History. After that problem started. When I launch mozilla from my desktop or from programms I just receive Mozilla blank Tab with Mozilla Icon. I dont have any page similar to yahoo . I installed it again, but same problem occurs.

Can only export AVI and nothing else

My problem is that I can't export any file type except AVI.
I want to export to h.264, Wma, quicktime, etc.
My footage is from canon DSLR t3i and 70D
Premiere and Adobe Media Encoder crash everytime with anything other than avi at different % in the export.

I was using Firefox fine. Few days ago, it upgraded to the lateste vrsion whateer it is. Then, when I rau Firefox, I only see Roboform bar on desktop screen and nothing else. I uninstalled Firefox and installed old version 3.03. but the same problem occurs.

First, empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space. According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB free on the startup volume for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of your data. Use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space. Proceed further only if the problem hasn't been solved. ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To really see everything, you have to run it as root. Back up all data now. Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways: ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.) ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens. ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid. After installing ODS in the Applications folder, drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. When you're done with it, quit it and also quit Terminal.

Yes your cabinet 10 on the Crediton exchange has already been installed and linked with a FTTC DSLAM cabinet (making it able to provide FTTC fibre broadband) and has been Accepting FTTC orders since December 2013. PCP10 (with it's DSLAM cabinet within 100meters of it) is locate on the junction of Commercial Road and the A3072.
However by the looks of things your are just too far away to obtain a FTTC (VDSL2) connection, meaning FTTC fibre broadband is not available to you.

I cannot access the internet using firefox. The little toolbar identical (the far upper right in the screen) pops up and nothing else happerns. This has only started very recently and I have not had this problem in the past.

When I click on the icon for firefox, a little toolbar (the one you see in the top right corner of the screen) pops up and nothing else happens. I'll close it out and retry, with only the same results. I tried Firefox safemode, with the same result. Like there is something blocking me, but I don't know what. It doesn't matter if I've been on the computer for some time or just started up, I cannot access the web thru Firefox. This has only started in the last couple days. Previously, I've never had this problem. I haven't loaded any new programs anytime recently to account for this. I use Norton for my anti virus program which is the newest and had since end of December. I am not happy having to use the windows internet explorer, so would be very happy to get this resolved. Should I uninstall the mozilla program, and then reinstall it?

Do you have a "real" IP address or a private (192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x, 172.x.x.x) IP address?

Could not access it because their network security blocked you by intent, or had some unknown technical difficulty?
Unless you are blocked by intent or ommission (if they have to explicitly allow your machine) I can think of no technical reason why your wired connection should not both get you on their network and on the internet in general. You should not need to be dual homed (though dual homing should work as well).
Please answer the questions above when you can - I think solving the wired LAN issue will be easier if you are not being intentionally blocked.

SAVE the installer to your hard drive (do not use the "Run" option); save it to your Desktop so that you can find it. When the download is complete, close whatever browser you have open, click or double-click the file you downloaded and see if it installs without a problem.
The downloader is a self-extracting archive and should not need or use 7-zip. I have 7-zip installed on my system and it does not interfere with nor is it used in the Firefox install process. Hopefully, you have not set the downloading of .exe files to be associated with 7-zip.

Try resetting first.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, try restoring your iPhone to factory settings > http://www.everythingicafe.com/how-to-restore-iphone-to-factory-settings-without -itunes/2011/12/13/
Be aware, resetting to factory settings deletes all user data.
Then try updating to iOS 6 again.

I have Windows OS and iTunes for PC, but the problem is not in my PC, but in synchronization. Your synchronization take minute or two, you have thunderbolt lightning cable??? If is it by you really so quick than ok but by me is it with sync really slow and I have still powerhouse notebook.
I dont know how is it possible that your sync is so quick, but my iPhone starts transfering purchased aplications and all content to the PC, instead of downloading it PC itself without iPhone from iStore. So there is what happend when I am conecting my iPhone.
When it find my iPhone on the first try, it starts makeing backup, than transfering photos, aplication, some info from Safari and to the end also the MUSIC...this should be improved by Apple and it should be able to sync just MUSIC section and not whole system, when I changed just something in MUSIC section(like adding new CD..)
