After Mavericks was introduced to my different Macs, my emails go blank - I loose my information - why? It's a disaster to my business!
I have a Brand new Mac Mini and a Power Book a few years old. It is the same problems in both machines.
The guys in the Mac shop could not answer or solve the problem with the Mail program.
Do you have a backup? If Time Machine, go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select that folder and go into Time Machine. Go to Mail/V2 and contol - click to get Restore options. Restore to your desktop, exit Time Machine and import into your Mail accounts.
You can also try rebuilding your mailboxes.
Rebuild mailbox
and reindexing the mailbox. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.

Why is my ram being used up after mavericks was installed?
My ram is being eaten by something and it doesn't come back with out running the free "memory clean" app. I have the following running all day:
Finder
Daylite (my station is not the server)
Mail
Safari (Lots of Google Maps all day)
Acrobat Pro
I jump in and out of Excel, Word, Evernote and Skitch
I have 8 gigs of ram and it slowly dissappears over time... down to 7MB or less sometimes!
I also noticed that many things are very slow the first time they are run each time after startup. When I click on a shortcut in Finder, it dissappears.
This all started after Mavericks was installed. Before it was a smoking fast machine.
When I started typeing this, I had over 2 gigs of ram free. Now I have 710 MB and it continues to drop.First get rid of the Memory Clean up app, uninstall following the developers instructions. Next I would recommend posting an EtreCheck report so we can tell more about how your computer is configured. If you use any "maintenance", anti-virus, malware checking apps those are not only unnecessary but are potentially the problem. Post the report in your next response please.

Can I close "Optimizing Your Mac" that appears on startup after installation of Mavericks?
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

I installed update on my IMAC for new Maverick OS X 10.9.2
It will not allow the update on a few Apps, such as IPhotos, it says Apple ID is already in use.
1. What is the problem here
2. What am I supposed to do about fixing it?Have you tried signing out of the App Store and then back in with the Apple ID and password that you used to purchase the iMac?

Connecting to wifi printer with G4 after Mavericks installed on main computer
I have discovered that my G4 PowerBook did not see the Epson RX730 printer after Mavericks was installed on my iMac. I downloaded the Epson software onto the G4 from the EPSON site and tried installing that way. It didn't work but also on the Epson dmg is an app called "Install Navi". Have your G4 ready to move, as it guides you through to taking the G4 next to the printer within 4 minutes of installation. The G4 then connects with the wifi Epson printer. I think that this problem first arose with Mountain Lion, but as I moved directly from Lion to Mavericks, I had not encountered the problem earlier.
The network should have shown up on the AirPort menu automatically. There is no need to run the assistant.
Try this:
Open the Network preference pane.
Open the AirPort item.
Click the "Options..." button.
From the "If no preferred networks are found:" drop down, select either "Automatically join an open network" or "Ask before joining an open network". -
How can i restore all my emails from time machine after mavericks installation?
ALL of my emails disappeared from all my mailboxes after Mavericks was installed. When I try to restore from external Time Machine from earlier yesterday, for example, nothing happens. Can anyone help me with this huge problem?

MAC BOOK PRO too slow after Maverick?
I update to Maverick OS about 2 months ago. At first my mac was so much faster, but that only lasted about a week. My MAC is now so much slower than it was before. I can still do things on it, but it is really slow. Any recommendations please? Can Chrome browser be the cause. I use chrome AND Safari on it.
Here is the status:
Macbook pro, i7, 2.2 GHz, OS 10.9.1, 8 GB memory, HD: 500GB, has about 117GB Free right now, It is connected to large display via thunderbolt.

Istarted haveing these problems before but thought that something was wrong with my hard drive, everything checks out, I started having these problems when I upgraded to OS X Mavericks. nothing has worked right ever since that time, it's driving me crazy, maybe I should go back to windows, I hate that ideal!

When Mavericks was available, I was able to download it, which I did without checking that my Mac (iMac5,1) running 10.7.5 cannot run Mavericks. However I found that I was having some odd things happening - and asked the Finder for "Mavericks" to see if anything would appear. The result was a page of 12 items

EricI have found, within the Apple site, that I can upgrade my 20inch, late 2006 iMac to 4GB RAM by replacing present RAM with two 2GB SO-Dimm in each of the two slots, although apparently the computer will only ever use a max. of 3GB.
So that would be a start.
On back-up for the 250 GB Hard disc with 100 GB 'available', I have an external hard disc, 500GB but with four partitions, total space available maybe 300GB.
So it looks as if I need a new external HD of probably another 500GB.
Have you any further comments ? In the meantime I will try to note any of the odd stuff, and postpone further action until after the New Year.
Finally, I have Time Machine on a separate external HD of 500GB, with about 190GB available.

Outlook Mac 2011 keeps crashing after Maverick installation

just installed Maverick. Now my Outlook Mac 2011 keeps crashing. I just freezes up and eventually pops a window stating "microsoft outlook must be closed because an error occured. any unsaved work may be lost.". Anyone seen this too and found a way to fix?
Cheers,I have found MS Office databases to be fragile. When I had the 2008 version, it was corrupted by an MS Office upadate. The same thing recently occurred to me in MS Office 2011 after I migrated to a new iMac. The tech support person from Microsoft had to reinstall MS Office 2011 from scratch and I had to start over with a new Main Identity.
Fortunately, there are ways to migrate all your old email to a new main identity but it is a pain.
I suggest you head over to the Microsoft forums to see what they are saying over there. It could be that your database was corrupted by the update to Mavericks but there are other things that cause that delicate database to get corrupted. I realize this does not fix your problems but you might gain some additional insights at the Microsoft web site.

I just got a new MacBook Pro, and I tried to bring across my files from my last mac using time machine. After it was done copying I can't find my files anywhere but the space (about 130gb) has been used on my hard drive. Does anyone know how I can get to them? I did change my user name from 'user' while it was copying, could this have something to do with it?
You don't want to do that by copying.
Your best bet, by far, is to use Setup Assistant. If your Mac is running Snow Leopard, see Using Setup Assistant on Snow Leopard or Leopard.

I have Photoshop Elements 10 on a new Mac, using Yosemite 10.1.1 - PE locks up every time I try to sign in. This software was restored to this computer from Time Machine after a theft of my old Mac. How can I fix this? It keeps telling me that there are missing files, too. If I upgrade to Elements 12 or beyond, will this fix the problem?
You can't sign in because there is nothing to sign in to. For PSE 10 the only sign in was to photoshop.com, which has been dead and gone for a year and half. Just skip the sign in. Reinstalling will not change this.

After Effects CS6 upgrade error in mac mavericks
Say hello to everyone.
Now i'm very tired and irritated about upgrading after effects cs6. Because my mac version is mac os x 10.9.5, mavericks so have to upgrade After Effects cs6.
BUT, only upgrade version 11.04 installed, and the others (11.01/ 11.02/ 11.03) still not installed and have an error message : the error code is U44M2P7.
What is this code mean and what should i do next?If you have 11.0.4 installed, you have everything in 11.0.1, 11.0.2., and 11.0.3

Mac book pro stops responding after Maverick OS restart. Currently have a circle with a line through it after 20+ hours. Tried to shut it down and use the Time Machine to restore but no response. How can I restore with Time Machine if it will not start?

you can purchase a replacement pair of grey installation DVDs for your MacBook Pro from either Apple or iFixit. If Startup Manager is only showing an OS X Installer volume, then it sounds like the Mavericks installer had a problem midway through its installation process. To fix this, you’re going to need to erase your internal disk and reïnstall your original version of OS X from the grey Mac OS X Install DVD, use Software Update to get it back to 10.6.8 (presuming that your MacBook Pro originally came with Snow Leopard), and then restore from Time Machine. -
After mavericks updating ,i cant pair my wireless keyboard keyboard working but just not pairing , plus my mac is logged out for logging in to reach the preferences i need my keyboard back any help would be here? Ps: i dont have another keyboard to connect .

Turn your Mac on, wait until the login screen appears.
Turn off your keyboard, wait several seconds. Hopefully a "Keyboard turned off" or "Keyboard disconnected" comes up. Then remove the batteries.
Turn the Mac off then turn it back on.
When it turns back on, it should say missing keyboard or something of the sort. Put the batteries back into the keyboard and turn it back on. Hopefully it should start talking again.
It sounds like you two have a Mac that doesn't have a built-in keyboard. So you could easily reset the SMC...
