After moving to Firefox 9 I cannot Attach pictures to email!!!

When I push Attach, a Firefox list appears and I need to double click on My Documents and then double click on My Pictures. At this point I scroll down to my folders and when I get ready to choose one, the whole thing disappears and I'm back to my e-mail. Then I attempt to push attach again and nothing happens. I am very upset with this problem. I used to have Internet Explorer until Thanksgiving and my son installed Firefox and the you kept urging an upgrade. Now we have a system which no longer operates properly. Please help. I want to send pictures to friends for New Years gifts.

Hi ozzie427,
What URL do you have bookmarked as your home page? You might want to look at the Knowledge Base article [[How to set the home page]]. There are steps in there to restore the home page to default. I would try that first to see if it clears up any strangeness. If that works, you can set the home page to anything you like.
Hopefully this helps!

  • Cannot attach files to emails

Over a year ago I could not attach a pciture to an outgoing email when using firefox as my browser and yahoo as my email. Then it started working again and now it is not working again. I type an email and try to attach a file and I cannot. If I sign in thru internet explorer I can attach the file without any problems. Any help would be appreciated on why I cannot attach a file to an emailk with firefox as my browser.

Just installed Pure 2.0 as an upgrade to Kas Internet Security on my ASUS pc laptop. Firefox 18.0.2 has automatically disabled Kas URL Advisor 12.0.1.311, Anti-Banner, and Virtual Keyboard. are these or any other issues w/Pure 2.0 responsible for suddenly corrupting Firefox or my webmail server's ability to attach files to emails just after i had installed Pure? i need your help determining whether that's the cause or simply correlation.
when i try to attach any file to an email message, my email pops up a blank window with the following address: http://md03.quartz.synacor.com/service/upload?fmt=extended
WHAT HASN'T FIXED THE PROBLEM: 1. a tech service call to my isp who thinks Kas Pure is the issue since all isp diagnostics check out ok. 2. disabling Pure didn't allow for attaching files. 3. neither did uninstalling it. 4. neither did re-installing using Kas-supplied recovery disk which then needed massive updates.
WHAT TEMPORARILY WORKED AROUND THE PROBLEM: 1. restarting Firefox with add-ons disabled. THIS mode allowed attachments, but isn't sustainable. 2. IN ADDITION, as i re-enabled add-ons ONE AT A TIME i could successfully send an email attachment AT EACH POINT. once all-ons were back on and i restarted the computer, the problem returned. 3. sending email with attachments from Internet Explorer (i will not return to that browser!). 4. sending email with attachments through the same isp using our iMac.
i will now try the fix mentioned above.

  • Cannot attach files to email.

Have configured three email accounts on my curve 3g and have been receiving emails and can also send emails from all of them. Can also view attachments such as pdf, xls and doc. The only problem I have is that I cannot attach pdf, xls, or doc files present on my device or media card to any emails. When I go to the attach option in email, only Picture and Contact pop up. Called up service provider (Ideacellular, India) and they told me Blackberry needs to send me attachment services. Called up redington, blackberry support partner in India. After 4 unsuccessful attempts got hold of the supervisor, who told me that " Files cannot be attached to emails on a blackberry". Prevented myself from fainting and told him to check again. He did check again, told me the same thing and has arranged a callback from Blackberry on tuesday. Researched on the internet, found out about blackberry attachment service. Cannot find it on my device. Connected to desktop manager/Applications/ cannot be seen there too! Have downloaded the OS 6 and installed on my comp. Please help! Please also note, have extensively searched all blackberry forums available and tried everything.

    Hi there!
Thank you for the very detailed report...it helps a great deal. I also congratulate you on being properly persistent with them so as to reach someone who has the proper information...all too often folks will ring up their carrier and reach someone who has inaccurate information...and the user all too often accepts the incorrect information they are given. You persisted and moved on to higher and higher levels of support, receiving more and more accurate information along the way. But, there remain a few things to correct from what they told you.
While you indeed need the various services you are subscribed to, the service themselves are not pushed out to your BB. Rather, it is the Service Books existence on your BB that enables your services; if you are missing some Service Books, then the associated services do not function. This would include the Service Book for the Attachment Service.
Additionally, Service Books are not sent to you by RIM. Rather, it is the wireless service providers who push out the Service Books to their users. Typically, a carrier will only push service books for those model BB's that they directly support...hopefully your model BB is one that they do so. If not, then the method to obtain the service books is much more cumbersome than what I am about to recommend you perform.
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
    2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then please confirm if your model BB is natively supported by your wireless service provider. If it is, then they have done the proper thing to escalate your case into RIM...that is exactly what they are to do when they cannot resolve a situation. If, however, your BB model is not supported directly by your carrier, then the call with RIM may be of no use...I do not know if RIM authorizes release of the procedure by which to obtain the service books or not. But we do know that procedure and could provide it here to you.
    Good luck!

  • I cannot attach photos to email since iOS 8 was installed yesterday.

Since I installed iOS 8 yesterday, I can no longer attach photos to email. It just cycles and cycles but photos will not attach. PLEASE HELP!! Thank you!!!!

    Hello DaynaE65,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. You may want to consider performing a restart, or a reset to address the issue:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device until the red slider appears. Then drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
    How to reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities
    Cheers,

  • Cannot attach document to email

I get the spinning wheel when I am within a document program like Word and I try to share it by email with Mail. It eventually quits and does not attach to the email. This has happened ever since I upgraded to 10.8.2. It does work if I manually drag and drop a document into an email. Thanks for your help!

Having Outlook installed has caused problems in several areas of Mail even if not in use for 10.8.x.  I have to leave the computer soon, so you will have to search out.  In the ML forum, search with Outlook as a search argument, and see what may get presented.

  • Cannot attach pdf to email or fetch

I have one pdf that will not attach to my email or upload to fetch. I get this message when I try to attach to email: "Internal Server Error. The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error." And I get this error when I upload to fetch: "Fetch could not put...because the ftp server encountered an error accessing a file or folder." I sent a note to my email provider and they tested and had no problem. I assume the problem is with this specific pdf but I can't figure it out. It is only 128 kb. I exported a new pdf from indesign, but still does not work. Previous pdf versions of this Indesign file also will not attach, though they have before. And other non related pdfs attach just fine. Any ideas?

Maybe you have some directory damage. If you know how to run fsck in unix single user mode, that is what I would recommend. If not I'd recommend booting from your system dvd and running disk  utility to see if there is a problem with your hard disk.

  • Safari 5 freezes when attaching picture to email

It looks like I'm not the only one with Safari problems. When I attempt to attach a jpeg file to an email in ATT/Yahoo email I suddenly get the beach ball and I can't get Safari to do anything including a forced quit. The same email with attached picture works just fine with Firefox.

    Ok...
Go to ~/Library/Internet Plugins. See if there are any Yahoo related files there.
Here's the path. Open a Finder window. Select your Home Folder on the left in the Sidebar. Then open the Library folder on the right then the Internet Plugins folder. Move anything Yahoo related to the Trash.
Relaunch Safari. If there weren't any Yahoo plugins, I just found this from Yahoo Help.
    How do I uninstall it?
You can manage the software from the "BrowserPlus Configuration Panel". This is launched on Mac from your "System Preferences".
Regardless of the operating system, the uninstaller will remove every trace of BrowserPlus from your system, including previous versions and any settings or preferences that have been set while you've used BrowserPlus-powered sites.
So open System Preferences/BrowserPlus and see if there's an uninstaller there.
If it's not there andyBall_uk says try here: ~/Library/Application Support/Yahoo/
    That's in your Home Folder.

  • Attaching pictures to email.

    Hi,
I sent some pictures by email yesterday and it work fine, the format was perfect. But today, when i went to attach pictures to a hotmail email, it took ages and the format was way too big. The only thing i can think of that could of created this change is that i modified a lot of the pictures today. (just sharpened a few and played around with lighting and so on). I'm on a mac OS X 10.4.6 and i'm using iphoto. Any ideas on how to resolve this problem??
    Thanx
    PoKa

    Hi PoKa,
I am wondering how you attached iPhoto images to your hotmail account?
The easiest way to attach photos through iPhoto is using the Share > Email option, where you can adjust size of attachment, but I don't think you can use hotmail.
If I were you, this is what I would do. Open iPhoto, select a photo, use the Share > Export option, when the window opens you can select 'Scale images no larger than:' I would reduce them to 640 x 480 +/_ export to a folder on your desktop. You can log into Yahoo mail, simply find image and attach... I use yahoo and this seems to be the only fool proof way.
The reason you were attaching large files, I would assume you went through your pictures folder and used the 'thumbnails' initially and on your second time around your were using the orginals...
