After my recent iphone update I can no longer print via "airprint" to my HP B110... help
when trying to print emails, I select "print", select the B110 that comes up on the printer list, then ask to print. I get a screen saying "contacting printer", then "preparing" then nothing....
I can print wirelessly from the laptops. All systems are on the same network. I have downloaded an HP Eprint app and try to print from there via Airprint, but again nothing. However, when I try to find a printer, nothing comes up from the search.
I am thinking maybe I need to alter settings on my iphone somewhere, but not sure. All was ok before the update...

Reboot the printer. Reboot the router. On the pad, general, reset, reset network connections.
Make sure all the devices are on the same wifi network. Talk nice to it.

Apple changed MobileMe to iCloud and then restricted iCloud to 10.7 users only unfortunately
If your machine is a 64 bit processor Intel Mac you can upgrade to 10.7 for $29, however a lot of your 10.5/10.6/Rosetta based software could cease to function, especially third party hardware drivers for printers, fax machines, all-in-ones, scanners etc.

Also depending how old the machine is, if it can accept 4GB of RAM (preferred), older video card, may not run 10.7 very well or stable.
My advice is to keep at 10.6.8, get a web based email service that's plaform/hardware neutral, forward your iPhone emails there. Gmail/Yahoo Mail for instance.
When your ready for new hardware and all new software, then buy a new machine.
If your going to go to 10.7 on your present hardware, I advise you clone 10.6.8 to a external drive first, that way you can c boot off the 10.6 disk erase the drive completely (necessary to remove hidden Lion Recovery Partition) and option boot off the 10.6.8 clone and reverse clone.

After a recent iTunes update attempt iTunes no longer functions and the airport extreme base station is not accessable on our computer. We still have wifi but cannot access the base station software.
Thanks for the reply. I appreciate the response. I tried that approach this evening and it didn't work for me. (Technically it worked for me, when I was hardwired into my base station, but would not work for me wirelessly, which is my main issue.)
Again, using the approach you recommended works only if I have my ethernet cable attached to the LAN port so my computer is communicating directly to the base station through the hard wire. I am able to scan for my base station and make setting adjustments normally this way too.
As soon as I disconnect from the LAN port and try to go wireless is where I run into problems. The Base Station's wireless network I created is available to choose in the top right corner of the monitor with all of the other available wireless devices/networks -- but the network I created does not have access to the internet. I am also unable to configure my Base Station wirelessly. When my Airport Utility tries to scan for the Base Station and Network, it cannot find any Apple Wireless Device. It's like the Wireless Network in my base station is not sending out a signal.
Is there a way to resolve this issue? -
After my last software update I can no longer access my mail. message displayed says "you have mail version 4.5 this cannot be used on Mac OS X Version 10.6.8 . How do I fix this???

None of which suggest Pages 5 to me.
If you want to persist in Pages 5.5 you will have to laboriously cut and paste the content into one file and hope that will still be usable when you are finished.
Or you could export to Pages '09 or pdf format and assemble it there.

IPhone shows up in iTunes but not Windows Explorer (after most recent iPhone update)
The phone shows up as a device in Devices and Printers, but not in the Device Manager...
Tried other suggestions, iPhone was unlocked when plugged in, restarted phone, uninstalled driver, restarted phone, etc. Running Windows 7, but same issue on other versions as well, all since last iPhone update. I did not have any prior issues with getting to my photos in Explorer!!!!!Thanks.

What changed, before you could no longer save image attachments to iPhoto?
Did you install new software or upgrade to newer versions? Which version of iPhoto are you using?
The "Save to iPhoto" feature has been missing for some iPhoto versions. I do not remember exactly when it vanished, but it is back with iPhoto 9,6 and MacOS X 10.10.2.
As a work-around - you can drag photo attacuments from your mail to the iPhoto icon in the Dock to save them to iPhoto. -
I just updated to 10.8.2 and now i can no longer wake my macbook froom standby when the lid is closed, it directly goes back to sleep
steps to reproduce:
1. attach secondary monitor and keyboard
2. close lid
3. wait 5 seconds for going to standby
4. press any key on keyboard and type in user-credentials (notice how the 2nd monitor becomes the mainscreen)
5. wait 5 seconds
6. standby again
side note:
i also have sudo nvram boot-args="iog=0x0" enabled, because i like to not use the integrated screen when its attached to a secondary screen, but since it goes back to standby right after login this is pretty much pointlessSame here, I think changed something in 10.8.2 that wrecked the "Open-MBP Clamshell Mode." sigh

After upgrading my Ipad 1 to iOS 4.3.3 I can no longer print with airprint?
After I upgraded to iOS 4.3.3 i cannot get airprint to function. My ipad sees the printer and says it is trying to connect but it never prints. I have a HP b210a and I can print by using the email function but I can no longer get it to print from air print. I have verified that both the printer and the Ipad are up to date. I have also restarted both and no success. This seems to have happened when I upgraded to 4.3.3. Any suggestion?

Also check the print queue to see if a print job has gotten stuck. Click the home button twice and you should see recently used programs across the bottom of the screen. Scroll across to find the print queue.

Can no longer print via Airport Extreme BS Network
I can no longer get my Samsung laser printer (ML-1210) to print via my Airport Extreme Base Station Network. All I get is the Printer Center telling me that it can't find the printer. Prior to OS X 10.4.4 and Airport Firmware update 5.7 no problems, after OS X 10.4.4 and Airport Firmware update 5.7 some types of documents (.pdf) would print sometime and some types (.rtd) wouldn't print at all. After OS X 10.4.5 nothing prints.
The printer is connected to the AEBS via an USB cable.
So far directly connecting my PB to the printer via an USB cable seems to print OK, as far as regular text files (Rich, and Plain) are concerned.I tried so many things I'm dizzy. Nothing done to the computer, not even clean installing OS 10.4 on an external HD and booting from that worked. What seems to have finally worked (????) was reverting the AEBS Firmware version down to version 5.5.1.
Since I print so infrequently I'm not going to say it's all OK until I do some more testing/printing.
In the mean time if anyone can give me an specific idea why this conflict may be happening and what else I can do to fix it without running my AEBS with older Firmware I would be grateful.
The latest driver for Samaung ML-1210 is a couple of years old and I think it is a proprietary code (not something standard like PostScript).
I'm not sure if it's only the AEBS Firmware or a combination of conflicts between the "OS Version-Printer Driver-AEBS Firmware".

Can no longer print via AirPort Extreme
I am unable to print via my AirPort Extreme. I have a LaserJet 1320 that prints fine when directly connected to my MacBook Pro, but when plugged into the AE, it does not. I am able to see and add the printer via Bonjour, but when a document is sent to the printer an exclamation mark shows up over the printer icon and the queue stops.
When I run Network Diagnostics the following message results:
Network Diagnostics was able to connect to the Internet but not to the server "hp LaserJet 1320 series.pdl-datastream.tcp.local.". This could be caused by problems with the server, or an Internet problem between this computer and the server.
This printer was printing fine via AirPort up until about a week or two ago. Is this related to the recent AirPort update?

MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.4.9)Anyone else noticing that this problem seems to be reoccurring. I've gone through the process of restarting the Aiport Extreme about once a month since I got it. Everything will be working fine, and then one day, it simply stops. Restarting the base station gets things back on track, for a while, at least.
Seems to me to be a firmware problem on the base station, since it's repeatable. Sad to see others are having the problem, but I'm glad I saw this thread since I had convinced myself it was the printer and was about to replace it ... -
I have been unable to use the copy and past command while using mozilla. the fucntion does work in windows IE, but I don't want to use windows. How do I restore or fix this function? I varies, works some days and not others.

I updated PS this morning, since then I am no longer able to edit a file in LIghtroom 4 as a smart object in Photoshop CC. Photoshop will open, but after some time passes, Lightroom 4 gives an error that Photoshop cannot be launched. If I choose "edit in photoshop" from lightroom, instead of "edit as smart object", the file opens fine.
