After OEM10g Install, browser only shows 5 squares

Hi everyone,
I had a 10.2 database that was already running on a test server. This morning I installed OEM 10g on that server, during the install, I chose the option to install OEM Grid Control using an existing database. I gave it the connection info to the existing database, and the install proceeded without errors. At the end, it gave me the URL to start using, but when I go to that URL in a browser (http://servername:1159/em), all I see is a blank page with 5 squares:
Any thoughts what the problem might be here? This is on a Windows 2003 server.

I had logged a TAR with Oracle for this issue, and I just got back their canned, usual response: "your version is not supported."
I had already installed a 10.2.0.1.0 database, so I was trying to get OEM Grid Control to work using this database as it's repository. The reply in the TAR said:
"Grid Control 10.2.0.1.0
Repository Database 10.2.0.1.0
+ Please note that you have installed the Grid Control's repository 10.2.0.1.0 in a uncertified database version.
+ As per Note:344852.1, the certified database versions for the repository are as below:
9.2.0.6 and higher, 9.2.0.6 RAC and higher, 10.1.0.4 and higher, 10.1.0.4 RAC and higher
+ 10.1.0.4 and higher, 10.1.0.4 RAC and higher refers to the 10.1.x.x.x and not to 10.2.x.x.x
10.2.x.x.x is not still certified and is only planned.

I understand this is what they have to say, but I would have to think there are people out there running OEM Grid Control using a 10.2 database for the repository?? Anyone out there doing that?
Either way, I'm going to go ahead and uninstall everything, then do it again from scratch.

Before Leopard 4 hard drives, after leopard install, now only shows 3 hds

I have a Mac Pro with four internal 400 GB SATA drives. Before I installed it I had four drives. Now after I have installed it, I only have three. Apple system profiler still shows four drives, but only three show on my desktop. They are all formatted Journaled HFS+.
What gives? Does anyone know how to get my missing drive back.

The bad news is, we have discovered a Leopard-related issue that may very well throw a monkey wrench into your Time Machine. Anyone trying to use Time Machine with a previously PC-formatted drive could be at risk. The good news is, there is an easy—albeit none-too-obvious—fix. Here's the dilly-o:
After I upgraded my MacBook Pro to OS X Leopard, the first thing I did was grab a brand-new Maxtor USB drive and format it to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) using Disk Utility, just like I had countless times before. As soon as I erased the disk, Time Machine popped up as promised, and asked if it could use the disk for backup. I said yes, and was on my merry way. Only I wasn't.
Time Machine ran for a bit, and then crapped out after about 10GB. I went into Disk Utility and saw that although the partition was formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled), the volume itself still said FAT32. I clicked Erase to reformat the drive, and got the format failure error you see above.
I tried this with FAT-formatted drives from Seagate, Iomega and HP as well. Each time I saw the same thing. I could reformat the partition to Mac OS Extended (Journaled), and Time Machine would recognize it. Get Info would say that it was formatted correctly. But Disk Utility showed that the volume was formatted for PC. Inevitably, if the Time Machine backup was greater than 10GB, there were problems. Worst of all, if I dared try to format the volume for Mac, I would get the dreaded error, and the disk would be temporarily unmountable.
Not only did I vary drives, but I tested the problem on various systems too. I tried it booting from the Leopard DVD, with the same results. Ditto when I tried it using my wife's Leopard-upgraded MacBook Pro. (Yes, his n' hers MBPs. You can insert your "awwww" here.) The end result was that I couldn't break the FAT grip on these **** drives.
I made some calls, I talked to some people, and eventually here was the solution: you wipe the **** out of the drive by creating new and different partitions. So, do not head to the Erase tab in Disk Utility to prep a PC-formatted drive for Time Machine. Instead:
• Go to the Partition tab. Create two partitions. Under Options, select GUID Partition Table (what you would use to make a Mac OS boot disk) and click OK then Apply.
• Once your partitions are in place, do it again, reverting back to just one partition, but still keeping the GUID Partition Table option. Click OK and Apply again, and at this point you should be cool.
• To be safe, you can then go to Erase and set formatting for Mac OS Extended (Journaled), then format it once and for all. But when you get there, you will probably see that your volume is already formatted in the right way.
Using this method, I have gotten all of the disks to work just fine with Time Machine, and I don't anticipate any problems in the future.
OK, I know, quite a bit of nerdiness coming from one dude this late at night. But I wanted to get out there and tell you about the problem I encountered, in case you are having the same troubles, or plan on getting there sooner or later. Also, this solution is actually a workaround of sorts. My hope is that Apple can update Disk Utility with a stronger form of disk erasing that doesn't require so many manual steps, but if I am missing something obvious, I'd love to hear it. Please share any troubles you've had, or any better solutions you've cooked up.

Share Media Browser - only shows Tiny, or Mobile size, the rest are grayed

I'm helping a teacher with a movie in iMovie 09. It has all the latest patches. When I tried to use Share>Media Browser - only shows Tiny, or Mobile size, the rest of the larger sizes are grayed out.
Of course, I tried Mobile and it was pixelated when displayed at a larger size.
I'm not sure why this is. Can anyone help?

When you say what size is the source video, what do you mean, and how would I check that size?
I've just encoded the video in iMovie, into iTunes as size "mobile". The resulting file size is 27.8 MB. In iTunes, the info shows the codec as being H.264.

Bookmarks only showing white square!

most bookmark folders are only showing white square when mouse hovers over, instead of opening the list of links contained in it?
any ideas?

The browser only shows the viewname of the form?

i'm working with the SAP NW2004s Developer Workplace SR2 Preview. Installed Adobe Reader 7.0.9 and xACF NW04S SP13 related to the SAP Note 766191.
I created a form which actually has no functionality so far, cause i wanted to see if the system works fine. I just created some context nodes and put them into the form.
First, i had problems with the credentials, but this is solved.
Now, the browser<b> only shows the viewname</b> of my form, but no PDF. DeveloperStudio hasn't thrown any errors.
Can you help?

Hi Thorben,
Have you checked if ADS is configured correctly. To do so type the following in the browser.
http://<server>:<port>/AdobeDocumentServices/Config
Select Test
Select rpData
Without entering any parameters, Click Send.
Provide the ADSUser username and Password and click Submit.
If the config is correct you will receive the Version info . Ignore the string " "PDFDocument" not found or it is empty."
If you don't receive the version info, you willl have to do the configuration again.
If the configuration is correct, Make sure that Active X is enabled in the browser settings.

"Preview in Browser" only shows slices

I'm been working on a mutli-page website mockup. When I add slices to my design and then select "Preview in Browser" ONLY the slices are showing up. Only when I delete the slices can I preview my whole design.
Ideas? For the life of me, can't seem to figure this out.

Try going to File > HTML Setup. Within the Document Specific category, be sure that "Include areas without slice objects" has been checked.

Browser Only Shows 35 Rows per Page

I have a Business Exploder query that I display on the web. However, it only shows 35 pages at a time. Can I increase this to all rows? I don't see an option in the query properties, and I don't have access to any stylesheets.

For table web item, set the specific property - "Number of Data Rows displayed" to 0 (zero) This will show all of the records returned.
But be careful about large number of rows as browser will go for a spin. It does not stops as excel does for 6000 rows.

After full charge battery only shows 4 hours.

Have the brand new 13 inch, and the battery is only showing 4 hours left after a full charge.

How many programs do you have running in the background?
What is the backlight level set to?
Is bluetooth turned on?
Is the keyboard backlight turned on?
Is Airport turned on?
Battery life is directly related to the load that you put on the cpu.

Plugincheck no longer lists all my installed plugins, only shows ones that are updated.

Plugin check use to list all my plugins, by category. It would show unknown plugins, need to update plugins, and up to date plugins.
Now, it only lists up to date plugins. It does not list all the others

But in your System Details I see three plugins installed.
Maybe you are confusing plugins and addons, to see your plugins go to '''Tools''' >> '''Addons''' >> '''Plugins'''

My iMac will no longer boot after half installing Maverick (only the essentials package was opened). How can I reboot it back to 10.8.5?

I was able to get a copy of OS X 10.9, but it wasn't the one straight from the App Store (which is free and I wish I knew before I got this other copy, but oh well). There is nothing wrong with the copy, it just simply doesn't initiate the install when you double click on it.
I installed one of the packages (essentials) off file, but not all the rest of them. For some reason the other packages weren't opening because it wasn't accepting my password, so I restarted the computer to see if that would make anything better.
It didn't. It now boots to the grey apple screen and stays stuck loading. I assume because only some of the install disk was installed, it doesn't really know what to do. But how do I fix this? How do I unistall the essentials package so that it goes back to normal?
I tried booting it whilst holding down "Command+Option+P+R" and it takes me to a limbo area where you can access disk utility. Within disk utility I can see that everything is still there.
What is the process to get it back to normal (I previously had 10.8.5).
Please help!

Problem solved.
In the docs that came with my Powerlogix accelerator card, I found this sentence buried:
"If you reset the PRAM, the NVRAM code for OS9 compatibility is cleared, so you will have to boot from the Firmawre Update CD and perform this process again in order to boot in OS9."
The "process" it's referring to is the process of setting up the NVRAM for booting into OS9 from the CD.
Fortunately, I was able to find the disk, and it worked as expected. I can now, once again boot into OS9.
Conclusion: My (unadvised) attempt to load Leopard on this old machine apparently reset the PRAM on the accelerator card and cleared the NVRAM code for OS9 boot. Although I did attempt to reset the NVRAM via Open Firmware, it did not reset it on the accelerator card.
So, thank you BDAQua, for your "Ah yes" . . . that's all I needed to steer me in the right direction.

After Leopard install, my only login option is Other

When I installed Leopard, I first had the whole "Blue screen appears over extended period of time" thing. I fixed that, but now when I boot up the computer, it has the login page. The only option there is Other, and Other won't accept any of my old users. Does anyone know of a way either to get past the login screen or to make a new account?

What happens when you DIDN'T erase all of your contents, instead you upgrade, and you got the "Other" as your only login, and your other passwords/usernames will not work.
I have tried using Disk Utility > Reset Password two times on the Leopard Install Disk.
I have to note though - my Leopard never fully installed. My computer is stuck in limbo... It never fully installed because there was some error and I had to restart the installation, and then it complained my disk was dirty.
What to do?

When I start the creative cloud, I get the information that no programs are installed and I can download PS6. But I have installed the latest versions of photoshop and lightroom working properly.
My System is a windows 7 64Bit PC.
I had to deinstall the creative cloud program because it didn´t react some days ago. Then I installed it again and now I have this wron behaviour.
Does anybody know how to adapt the creative cloud program correctly?

Make sure that you had not changed the language on Creative Cloud desktop
Also try to perform below steps
On Creative Cloud desktop top Right side click on Gear icon and Quit Creative Cloud App
Then Right click on Creative Cloud desktop shortcut and choose properties.
Then Click on compatibility tab
Under compatibility mode ""Make sure "Run this program in compatibility mode for " box is unchecked.
If it is checked, uncheck it and click on Apply, Ok. Then launch Creative Cloud App and try.

Firefox won't start. After starting the browser, it shows that it's running in task manger for a while, but then it disappears.

It works in the safe mode with networking though.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Developer Module only shows blue square with a white cross, images are displayed in the library ok but not im developer Module

Ive just updated to LR 6 from LR 5.
The app seemed to launch ok but as I was looking around none of my photos will open in the developer module, they just have a blue box with white cross??

It seems to be something to do with Lightroom 6 accessing the GPU. I had this problem and under the "Performance" tab in "Preferences" (Edit menu), there's a box that says "Use graphics processor". I unticked this box and now the images are displayed in the developer module. I'll need to investigate further to find out why Lightroom is not working with my GPU but at least I can use it now.
