After openoffice install: gnome/kde error "openssl version mismatch."

Hello,
i just installed a new archlinux version on my laptop. After i just installed the full cd version, i made the following things:
pacman -Sy
pacman -S xorg-server xf86-input-mouse xf86-input-keyboard xf86-video-vesa xorg-xinit
pacman -S hwd
hwd -xa
pacman -S gnome
pacman -S gnome-extra
pacman -S openoffice-base openoffice-spell-en openoffice-spell-de
Now, when i try to start gnome via "gdm", i get the following error after login screen:
/etc/gdm/Xsession: Beginning session setup...
/etc/gdm/Xsession: Setup done, will execute: /usr/bin/ssh-agent -- /usr/bin/gnome-session
OpenSSL version mismatch. Built against 90805f, you have 908070
Because i made nothing else on the system except the commands i quoted above, i guess it must be a bug. Has anyone an idea how to solve this problem?
Thx in advance,
Thomas

Update:
I just tried a new installation and did the same steps as above, just with kde instead of gnome.  After "startkde", the same OpenSSL version mismatch error appears on the console. It's REALLY annoying...

  • OpenSSL version mismatch.

    Hello,
I am getting the error message "OpenSSL version mismatch. Built against 90702f, you have 90801f." when I try to use the SSH client or when I try to connect remotely using putty w/ SSL.
I am running 10.3.9 with all the latest updates from Apple installed. I do have Remote Login enabled.
I suspect from the error message that somehow the libcrypto.dylib library has gotten replaced/overwritten. Short of completely reinstalling OSX is there a way to reinstall OpenSSL or relink the libraries that are now installed on the Macintosh?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
    David

    solved!
    i try
    # which ssh
    /usr/local/bin/ssh
    # mv /usr/local/bin/ssh /usr/local/bin/ssh.bak
    then
    # which ssh
    /usr/bin/ssh
    everything is ok!

  • Openssl version mismatch. Built against 90804f, you have 908070

I have tried to upgrade system with pacman -Syu
after longer time and after reboot I can't log from GDM to my xfce and I got this error (in ~/.xsession-errors file)
    /etc/gdm/Xsession: Beginning session setup...
    /etc/gdm/Xsession: Setup done, will execute: /usr/bin/ssh-agent -- startxfce4
OpenSSL version mismatch. Built against 90804f, you have 908070
Any suggestions what I can do to repair it? Should I downgrade the openssl package to previous one? How can I do that?
I should mention that I have just migrated (used partimage on systemrescuecd) my whole arch linux to new hdd (same pc but new hdd).
    thanx for any help

  • Nxssh - OpenSSL version mismatch

    Hello,
when I would start nxssh I get this error:
    #nxssh
OpenSSL version mismatch. Built against 1000106f, you have 1000201f
Opennx needs nxssh, witch I would to use of a Raspberry Pi 2 with Arch ARM. I installed opennx with pacman.
    Anyone knows a solution?

rbarch wrote:I installed opennx with pacman.
OpenNX was dropped from official repositories in june 2013 (see the aur-dev mailing list) and now it is in the AUR: https://aur4.archlinux.org/packages/opennx/. It depends on the package nx-common which provides the nxssh executable. It is your responsibility now to rebuild them.

  • Can't login after fresh installing gnome using gdm 3.2 [SOLVED]

I don't know if this topic was already solved, I hope someone can help me about this. I have a fresh install of arch linux (just yesterday) and installed gnome and gnome-extra packages. As usual, I go with the procedure of editing my .xinitrc (exec ck-launch-session dbus-launch gnome-session), rc.conf (...dbus networkmanager...), inittab (runlvl 5, x:5......gdm). After a reboot, gdm screen appeared, I can't find my account, then there were two choices, "Sign in" and "Not listed..."). I clicked Not listed, then entered my user and password, after that, it responded: Authentication failure/failed... or something like that. I tried it again and it's the same. Temporarily, I'm using startx or slim (depends on my mood). Can anyone help me?
    here's my gdm's 0.log and 0-greeter.log respectively:

when asked for uuid/uid?... I put 100. I thought any random number would do...
    look in /etc/pam.d/gdm-password
in arch and in general >= 1000 are  normal users, < 1000 system users
is that how it works? can i change it from 100 to 1000 or just make a new one?
    anyways i'll look to it.

  • Install gnome/kde/xfce to /usr?

Why don't we just put everything into /usr? The /opt serves no purpose since all apps are installed/removed by pacman and not untar/rm. And where should you install an app that needs both of kde and gnome?? /opt/kde+gnome?
The reasons people are against this are summarized below:
    · The standard says "Large software packages must not use a direct subdirectory under the /usr hierarchy": BUT kde and gnome are not large packages (like openoffice), but many small packages, just like the rest of linux. The "GNOME" or "KDE" is just a conceptual name for end-users. Any app or user could use 1% of gnome/kde packages and keep away from the other 99%.
    · Puting all files into /usr is slow: There isn't any benchmark to confirm that. And a nearly-complete gnome 2.14 installation contains only about 100-200 files in /opt/gnome/bin/, compared to more than 1000 in /usr/bin. It just can't cause any slow down on modern linux filesystems. (it's 1,100+ not 11,000+)

once upon a time, it was simpler and certainly cleaner to put things in opt as we do, and we didnt have a standard telling us what to do. Time have changed since, and it's quite a monumental and time consuming task to move all of gnome, all of kde, and all of the various programs back to /usr, something that just doesnt seem like it will reap any benefit for all the effort.  That's the sole reason why things are in opt. Simple.
Sure, there's the standard -- but because there's a standard, doesnt mean we must follow it. Plenty of people get caught up in the word 'standard' and instagib-flame-kinghit-ko-up-left-right-right-down anyone who speaks against a standard irrelevant of the quality or applicability of the standard.
It's not like most distros actually observe the standard anyway. I havn't seen a single distro having httpd serve out of /srv. The standard itself is out of date and contradictory. Xorg moved from X11R6 to /usr a while back now. Besides, why seperate  X into X11R6? what makes it so special that it must be seperated yet kde and gnome cannot?
And is having kde and gnome seperate actually a violation of the standard?
It's no difficult stretch of the mind to consider them "Add-on application software packages" after all, they're not required for a system to run, and nor are they installed by default, they are addons after installation.
If we now look at the /usr section of the FHS, we see that:
/usr is the second major section of the filesystem. /usr is shareable, read-only data ..... Large software packages must not use a direct subdirectory under the /usr hierarchy.
It isnt difficult to consider KDE and GNOME large software packages. Saying they aren't large because they're split, is like calling OOo small if we split it up into each of it's components, libraries and programs. If you do decide to use any particular KDE and GNOME app, there exists something known as dependencies. For kde, you'll get a minimum of 30mb from kdebase, and that's just the tarball, not the extracted size.
The desktops themselves are quite large anyway. pacman -S gnome. I havn't got a clean install on me here, but it's surely a reasonable size to install to get a functioning GNOME desktop, KDE is definitely quite big, with kdebase alone being 30mb.
If you look at the actual standard, it's pretty flexible, and it's definition of /opt's purpose is very lofty. The rationale for it, is that "The use of /opt for add-on software is a well-established practice in the UNIX community"
    http://www.pathname.com/fhs/pub/fhs-2.3 … REPACKAGES
And we can take their approach here too, not only is it fine to put kde and gnome in opt as they are addon packages, but we can use their own rationale and say "that's how we've always done it"
By no means do I remotely agree with the standard, but if you can use it to argue for putting them in /usr, you can also use it to argue for putting them in /opt. Either way, it negates this standard because of the ambiguity in this area and doesnt change the sole reason why things are in /opt in arch, which I explained first.

  • Install latest KDE 4.4 version? How?

How do I install KDE 4.4? I really want to try it.
    I have KDEmod now, 4.3.
Would I need to remove it after I install KDE 4.4?

    Thx for correcting my misunderstanding
Now there's a qtmod package... That replaces Qt.
Yes, its there since 4.3.0 already
People, sometimes i am asking myself how some of you survived the Arch installation. Reading documentation, news etc is still essential, even when using Chakra/KDEmod

  • Trouble Installing 2012 R2 Reporting Services - Version Mismatch Error in logs

    I recently upgraded an instance of SCOM 2012 SP1 to 2012 R2.
I got no errors installing the all of the components except for the reporting services.
As part of my troubleshooting, I ended up just uninstalling the SP1 version of reporting services and just tried a fresh install of R2 Reporting Services.
When installing reporting services, I get to the step it asks you to put in your management server. I do that, and I get an error about the versions not matching. If I look in the OpsMGrSetupWizard.txt in the setup logs, I see the following error.
Error:The management server is a different version than the current setup build. Please use a different management server or the correct version of setup. Server Version: 7.0.9538.0
On both of my management servers, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Operations Manager\3.0\Setup shows 7.1.10226.0 for currentversion, ServerVersion and UIVersion
I've tried running the install from the Action account, the SDK Account and my own account, all having admin privileges on the system, same error. I've run the resetSRS.exe against the SQL server in case there were leftovers from the previous SP1 install
    of reporting services.
My searches here and google haven't found anything that has helped.

OK, after digging around some more I found the following.
In the SCOM Console, my management servers were still in maintenance mode from the upgrade somehow, and in the agent managed section for management servers, the version still listed the 7.0.9538.0 version. I removed them from maintenance mode, and within
a few minutes their returned to a monitored state, and the version updated to the 7.1.10226.0 version.
Once that was up to date, I reran the reporting services install on my db server, and it went through properly.
So it looks like the reporting services install is dependent on some part of the management servers updating their version in the db.

  • Re-installing teredo after un-installing due to error 10

I had a problem with a Teredo tunnelling adaptor- apparently an error 10 - and followed the instructions I found in help. I am not very experienced in this field and soon found myself lost in some of the explanations and jargon. The directions given
told me to update the driver, try troubleshooting and if this did not work, un-install and then try re-installing. I did all of this, but ended up without being able to find how to find the Teredo to re-install. Could
you possibly help? It would also be extremely helpful if you could possibly point me in the right direction to find understandable literature explaining exactly what all this is about.
The error stated was that it was possibly configured incorrectly and could not start up.
Thank you for your time and patience.

    Hi walkerlaw1,
Am not sure what files you have saved to the Cloud. Is it the setup file or the Folder in your Program Files?
Adobe recommends archiving the setup file for future use.
Acrobat 8 Std. is no longer available on our website to download. If you have purchased an Electronic Download (ESD) version from Adobe then you can login to your account on Adobe and find the download link in your Adobe account. Yes, this would be the same program you purchased. And as recommended by your computer tech, you can download and install Acrobat 8 Std. and then run the updater within the program to update it to the latest patch.

  • Crash after just installing Mavericks. Error Report Analysis please

Hi, I needed more hdd space so I did I fresh install onto a Crucial M500 240GB. I followed these steps and made a bootable mavericks 10.9.2 installer on an external usb drive. I had Lion previously and never had any crashes like this. Sometimes I'd leave the computer on for weeks. While I was replacing the HDD, I also used compressed air in the fan area and all around the board and components.
I installed my first program, µTorrent Stable (1.8.4 build 30291)
and short after the system crashed. Can anyone please tell me what this all means. Not a good sign Thanks for any help.

  • Error #16824 : Version mismatch while trying to auto update...

    Hi all,
    OBJECTIVE :
So here is my problem, I am trying to auto-update an old version software X v1.0.7 AIR Runtime SDK 2.0 to a new version X v1.0.8 AIR Runtime SDK 2.5.
    CONFIGURATION =
Old Software X is version 1.0.7 using runtime SDK 2.0. App.xml as follow :
    <application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/2.0">

    Hi,
I just posted on your other thread but I'll repost for others that might be following along here.  With the release of 2.5, there is a new intermediate step required when you update from a 2.0 or earlier build.  Complete information can be found in this tech doc:
Update AIR 2 or earlier to AIR 2.5 application updater framework
Please let me know if you run into any problems.

What do I need to do to fix this?

It's a problem with Wicd, normally you can force update wicd and after that install gnome as you would normally do.
    pacman -Syy
    pacman -Sf wicd

  • After Vista Install, cannot use iTunes

I had to do a clean install of Windows Vista on my computer. As a result, the hard drive was wiped clean and all information on my computer was erased. After the install, I downloaded the newest version of iTunes + the Windows updates for compatability and the Windows iTunes fixes. Now, when I plug in my iPod, I get this message:
"The iPod is synced with another iTunes library. An iPod can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time." I then have 2 options - Erase and Sync or to Transfer Purchases. When I try to transfer purchases, it will not let me because I am "not authorized" to play them on this library.
    Can someone help?

Probably not a broken AAS then. If it is broken badly enough to give an "itunes has stopped working" message, QuickTime typically won't launch either.
My thoughts swing back to a font issue. Usually if a font is damaged, the iTunes error happens via the CoreGraphics.dll. For example:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2302801
Unfortunately, without a heads-up from the Problem reports about which font is/may-be damaged, checking on that possibility is going to be a pain.
Try going into your Control panel. Do you have a "Fonts" control panel in your Windows 7? If so, go into that and try steadily opening all the fonts, one by one. Does font viewer have difficulty displaying any of the fonts? If so, which ones do you have trouble with?
