After quitting itunes reopens... what the..
err.. yes indeed.. its true, after quitting itunes it reopens itself a few seconds later.. oh it was fine til i upgraded it to 7.7 this morning.. please advise
Try deleting the iTunes preferences file. Quit iTunes. Go to User Name>Library>Preferences. Find the file com.apple.iTunes.plist and trash it. Open iTunes again and it will look like you're opening it for the first time. Also if you use the iTunes widget or any widget that has to do with iTunes, close it.

Have to force quit iTunes 98% of the time
It did not improve with iTunes 8.
Every time i go to the iTunes store (purchase or not) when I want to quit iTunes I get the beach ball and the fan kicks on until I force quit. Much of the time just listing to music the same thing occurs.

It consistently freezes when I'm using the iTunes Store. I'm usually able to browse the store and if I find what I'm looking for and make the purchase I can quit iTunes normally, if I leave the store before it freezes. If I wait for iTunes to freeze I'm unable to force quit, access the terminal, taskbar or anything else. I have to force the power off and reboot in order to use the computer again once I experience the freeze.
I had the good fortune to have two identical iMacs and have the problem on both. I've done a clean install on both computers and continue to have the problem on both after clean installs. The problem appeared shortly after the release of iTunes 8.0 on the first computer. I almost miss my Windows Vista Ultimate computer (almost). -

Whenever I intentionally quit iTunes I get the "iTunes Unexpectedly Quit" message. No harm done, but it's annoying. This is with 7.1.1 and a few previous versions. Any ideas?
ahhhh. by any chance do you have an old version of a Volume Logic plug-in installed on that Mac?
(versions that would work for iTunes 6.0.x could produce your symptoms on iTunes 7.0.0.70 or higher.)

The cord works fine, as it synced fine this morning. The computer works fine, as I have other USB drivers that have no installation issues. I have no major firewalls or security software in place. Literally the only thing that has changed is my version of iTunes, which was installed perfectly.
This, by the way, is not an isolated incident. Every attempt I make to upgrade to iTunes 11 goes the same way, and the utter lack of a satisfactory response by every Apple tech support I've gone to has been frustrating enough to make me consider ditching my Apple products, exclusively supporting their competitors, and recommending that my friends and family do the same.i hade just the same on my pc with windows 8.1 and iTunes 11.1.4. I could sync over Wi-Fi but not over USB.
i did the following: remove "iTunes", "apple software update", "apple mobile device support" and "apple application support". then download iTunes new and install it. After installation all removed software should be back again.

A good news and not good news ... I have downloaded again from the App Store OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5 and then I formatted the HD. So I did a clean install from a pen drive. After completing the procedure was present the latest version of OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion and iTunes 11.1. I started Disk Utility and verified the permissions ... all ok!
Now the bad news: I upgraded to iTunes 11.1.1 and checking the permissions again are all corrupt.
In conclusion we need to wait until Apple solves the Bug.

Trying to install iOS 6 with iTunes, whats the proper procedure to follow?
Connect device to computer. Open iTunes. Select your iPhone under the Devices heading then click on the Summary tab in iTunes' main window. Click on the Update Software button.

HELP! After installing iTunes 7, all the songs on my iPod disappeared!
I dont know if othe people are having this problem too but it really *****!
I downloaded iTunes 7 a while back because i had no choice, i wouldnt be able to buy songs/music videos from it if i didnt.
It installed a new iTunes
then a new iPod upgrade.
A day later, i pluged in the iPod.
It asked me if i wanted to upgrade it with gapless playback because i thought it would save space or something.
so i put yes, and let it do it over night since it took so long..
then the next thing i knew when i woke up, is that all the songs on my iPod were GONE!
I even plugged it back into the computer and iTunes said there were no songs on my iPod! or videos or anything!
I rechecked everything and it said the iPod was still 98% full (because i had like 4,300 songs on it) and only 2mb of free space...
I checked iTunes and it said that the things were taking up space were 10% "pics" and 89% "other files".... so i know itunes can see the files there..
I KNOW THEY'RE STILL THERE!
CAN SOMEONE HELP ME GET THEM BACK?!?!
I know it was the gapless playback thing... is there any way to undo it??
Please... someone help me... i cant just back up all my songs... because i reformatted my computer a while ago too.. so i have no backed up songs... and a lot are from other friends too!

Just restore the ipod
If Not on the PC

i tryied to uninstall and clean all apple app on my pc...but the trouble is still here!!
Thanks. Short of the sort of "generic" suggestions of restaring your system, if you haven't, and repairing disk permissions and verifying the disk, I don't have any advice right now. I'll do some research and see if I can come across anything. Meanwhile, someone else may have an idea.

After upgrading iTunes, I get the error, missing msvcr80.dll, How do I resolve this issue?
I am using Vista 32 bit on an older dell laptop and have been using iTunes for a long time, downloading songs, syncing with my iPhone, and etc, with no problems. After upgrading to the newest version of iTunes 11, I received an error message of "missing MSVCR80.dll, please reinstall the software" when trying to start the iTunes application. I removed the iTunes software and associated apps from my laptop and reinstalled the iTunes software. While the software was installing it indicated that I did not have permission to install the application. Although I started the installation with the option of "Run as Admistrator". Since I could not reinstall the iTunes software, I choose a restore point where my iTunes was working before, and changed to that point. I am still getting "MSVCR80.dll missing". Does anyone know how I can restore the missing MSVCR80.dll? I have found articles on the web of how to do this, but none seem to work.

Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
