After rebooting time advancing to 2020 (G500)
Hi,
I recently got back my G500 from warranty service (after sending it twice, they didn't do anything with my problems at first). They changed the MB in the laptop, but strangely when I first started it the time was setted to 2020 oct.
I was so surprised I even took a picture seen below. (I never had this kind of issue before.)
I have win 7 and win 8.1 checked both of them and even if I don't let the windows synchronize time from net I have this issue after rebooting. I also have issues with the sound like if I want to use headphones the laptop don't want to detect it I tried it with at least 2 different headphones. It's working if I manually prohibit the speakers from working then it's start using the headphones.
I really don't want to send my laptop to the warranty service again since it's far away from my home and they don't seem to try to fix my laptop at all. For first try they tested it and said it's working fine but I couldn't even turn it on when I received so I had to send it back, at second try they changed the MB but it tooks long and I hope if maybe there is a way to fix these?
Everyone how tries to help thanks in advance!
Ah, I didn't check I just assumed that if the had to put a brand new MB into my laptop it would be up to date.
I found this, I'm not sure if it's the newest? Any tips? Also thanks for the reply.

Every time I ask Siri to find something near me, she says that she cannot find my location because I need to turn on location services in the settings menu and in siri. These are both on, and after rebooting my phone it still doesn't work correctly. How do I fix this?
No, the app does not have to completely restart. It gets shifted in its open state into storage. Similar to how a computer uses the hard disk when it has insufficient memory.
What complicates things is that sometimes memory does not get returned for reuse when you close an app. Thus yo should periodically double click the Home button and "delete" unnecessary apps from the multitasking dock and power off and then back on the iPod. -
WLAN AutoConfig Service crashes 3 or 4 times after you first login after rebooting?
Hi,
My lenovo came with windows vista - I upgraded to 7 when I got a chance. I have W7 Professional. I have all the Lenovo drivers installed except access connections. I don't like the tool. Anyways, Windows manages my wireless adapter. I have the weirdest issue -- right after I login after rebooting, the service "WLAN AutoConfig" crashes 3 or 4 times in sucession any time something tries to access the net. If you restart it enough times, it eventually stays up and never crashes again until you reboot. Also, the fancy aeropeek stuff crashes too. The task bar becomes non-transparent. That eventually recovers as well.
I have another t61 thru my work running w7 and it doesn't have this issue. The difference between the two of them is mainly that it has the intel based wifi card instead of the atheros based one.
In the event log, I see:

Sun One Web Server connection pool goes stale after some time
Hi all,
I have a few web applications running on Sun One Web Server 6.1 (SP4). I configured a connection pool via the web admin of the web server. I do not know why the connections in the connection pool are never released after some time (this happened for 3 times with a couple of months in between). I need to reboot the web server to solve this problem everytime the connection pool goes stale. I have verified that the resources are released (stream and connection are closed) with proper programming logic. Even so, I think that the connections will be timed out (the setting is 5 minutes) by the web server as a bulletproof even if the resource is not released properly as implemented in the code logic. Can anybody help on this? I have been troubled by this problem by weeks.

Running Task Sequence from Software Center failed after rebooting to WinPE (0x8022001B)
Hi all
I have created a task sequence to refresh client OS to windows 8.1 x64. I ran this task sequence in software center on a windows 7 client, everything went well without any fails.
But when I ran the same ts again after it refreshed to Windows 8.1, it failed immediately after rebooted to WinPE. It shows a warning with error code 0x8022001B.
My test environment: SCCM 2012 R2 (Windows Server 2012 R2). Client Device: Lenovo L430
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Thus, the only possibility here is that the boot image does *not* have the NIC driver in it. You need to verify which boot image I being used in both cases.

T61: "Error loading operating system" after reboot with Windows XP SR3
So here is my problem: Occasionally, after reboot I get "Error loading operating system" right after the Lenovo screen (the one where you can press ThinkVantage button). After that the only thing I can do is shut down the computer and fix the windows boot (see bellow…). I'm running Windows XP SR3, clean install.
I've had my T61 for 6 months now and I've had this problem about 8 times so far. Obviously this makes my T61 unstable and is becoming a major problem (I like to shut down the computer before taking it anywhere, and I don't really use Hibernate).
Solving the boot is very easy and takes 3 minutes… But the Win XP CD is needed for the fix and I don't want to carry it around with me everywhere. And anyway this is annoying and makes my T61 crippled…
To fix the problem:
1 Change AHCI -> Compatibility in BIOS.
2 Boot using the Windows XP CD.
3 Enter the Recovery Console (press R).
4 Use "fixboot" to write a new boot sector.
5 Restart ("exit").
6 Change back to AHCI in Bios.
After that the computer works perfect until the next time… Things I have tried so far:
1 Installed latest Bios for T61.
2 Checked firmware for HD (WD Scorpio WD1600BEVS) and it's the latest.
3 Installed all windows updates for Windows XP.
4 Installed all latest drivers for T61 (specifically checked the Intel Matrix Storage Driver and it's the latest).
5 Checked computer for Viruses, malware, etc. with a few scanners. It's clean.
6 Updated some of the programs that I thought might be causing problems: Avira , PerfectDisk 2008, TrueImage Home…
7 Checked HD with WD Diagnostics tools
I am out of ideas. Something is corrupting the boot sector occasionally when I shut down the system. But I can't find why or under what circumstances it happens… The only thing I didn't try was a completely new clean system install, a thing which I REALLY don't want to do. Except for this problem the system is great, very stable and I'm very happy with it.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.I run the windows version of TestDisk. Is there any specific reason for me to make a Live CD? It seems to work just fine in windows. Anyway, I run all the analysis tests with it. It did NOT find any problems. Is there some specific test I should run?
Some further testing has shown me that the problem happens sometime during using windows and not upon restarting... When it does happen I can no longer use chkdsk - it gives the following error message:
"The type of the filesystem is RAW.
CHKDSK is not available for RAW drives."
Some other things I tried:
- I've pretty much ruled out physical HD problems (I checked the HD with PC Doctor, WD's Data Lifeguard Diagnostic Tool and chkdsk - no problems). And the HD shows no symptoms of failure (no noises or any other problems).
- Ruled out boot-sector Viruses (cheked the computer with 4 different antiviruses - Avira,AVG, Kaspersky and NOD32).
- Manually checked the boot.ini file - no problems.
- I have also found while googling that the problem might have to do with a registry entry concerning HDs bigger then 137gb. I double checked that entry and it's fine.
- Tried both fixmbr and fixboot, alone and together - windows boots, but the problem comes back again after a few hours/days...
Things I'm trying now:
- Reinstalled the Intel Matrix Storage Drivers (before I just checked that they are the latest).
- Disabled the Active Protection System (I am shooting in the dark...).
I am getting pretty desperate here. -
Color Profile Not Applied After Reboot.
Hi guys, I posted this in the nZone forums, but no one replied, so I'm trying my luck here.
I created and saved a color profile named "Games", in which the brightness is set to a bit higher to compensate for dark games. Then in the Performance and Quality tab, I created a game profile named HL2 and associated hl2.exe with it. Switiching to Advanced settings in view, I changed the color profile to Custom - Games. After clicking Apply, starting Half-Life 2 or Counter Strike: Source will cause the brightness to be at an acceptable level.
However, after rebooting, the profile seems to have been forgotten. The game would run under the brightness I set my desktop at. The game profile is still there, however, remembered in the profile for the game under Performance and Quality. I would have to select the HL2 profile again and click Apply for it to take effect again. This happens EVERY time the machine reboots. I have uninstalled the drivers and manually deleted some files left behind, with Driver Cleaner Pro, and then reinstalled to no avail. Is there a way to fix this? This also happens to a profile I made for Guild Wars.
Any help would be appreciated.
Specs: 6600 GT PCI-E with 84.21 drivers, running a Dell 2005FPW through the DVI connector.
AMD 3000+ on Epox 9NPA+Ultra
1 GB RAM
160 GB SATA
And just as an experiment I installed Windows and Guild Wars on a 6 year old 8 GB hard drive. It was a clean install, with only drivers (mobo, GPU) and Guild Wars installed. Same thing happens. I even tried the 78.01 and 93.31 drivers. 93.31 wouldn't even allow custom color profiles for whatever reason. Thanks for the reply Richard. I indeed tried the latest driver, 91.31. The new control panel was quite confusing. I managed to get to the performance and quality place, but there was no way to set a color profile to a specific game, so keeping the same drivers, I went back to the classic control panel. Color profiles can't seem to be applied for game profiles, as the value in the profile switches to a "0" every time I hit apply (read that some other guy on the nZone forums had the same issues). So as of now, I just use the 84.21 drivers and set the color profile manually in the taskbar.
By the way, does anyone else here set color profiles in their game profiles? If so, how's the experience? -
Vertical taskbar width does not hold the width after reboot
Hi.
I wonder if anyone could help me with this. I've been trying to google the answer for hours but no luck.
I use the desktop with taskbar on the left side not on the bottom. I'll explain why just to cut questions. Simply because it makes more sense to me to have it on side rather than bottom with 16/9 format of display. I also work with many windows open at the
same time and this way I can have 15 of them on the taskbar without grouping.
Problem.
I need the width of the taskbar to be wide enough at least for 3 icons of the quicklaunch section. Below this width there is not enough space for quick launch icons to fit in the area. I could increase the area but then it uses space for the open windows
tabs and also date/time are not displayed fully. 3 icons is what makes sense for vertical taskbar. Every time I change the width of the taskbar to 3 it goes back to 2 after reboot. No matter whether I lock it or not!
question.
Is there any way of setting the minimal height ( in my case width of the taskbar as it is positioned vertically on the side) in the registry? I mean can I enter somewhere " do not go below bloody 3 icons after reboot ! " in the registry :)
There must be default value somewhere there and this is why it keeps going back to it. If only I knew where is it I could increase it to suit me.
I know it might seem to be silly question but after resizing the taskbar 2 348 times over the past years eveytime I turn the computer on I have had enough.
I would be very gratefull if anybody could help me. Thanks in advance.Refer :

WIFI connect only after reboot
On 4.0.1-1-ARCH, Desktop = KDE 4.14.7.
Since a recent update, I seem to have a wifi issue with random connections. I thought that was related to the following discussion: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=196584
But the problem was not solved by the latest update of wpa_supplicant as supposed to be according to the trend.
I initially tried to review my connection setup manually and ended up with dhcpcd waiting for carrier until time was out. Then I tried automatic connection setup tools such as NetworkManager and eventually wicd.
With wicd, the symtom I get is just that: every first boot of the day fails and I just have to reboot to get a connection ! Maybe this is an obvious symptom of something but I can't find out. If this talks to you ...

1. Be sure that Airport is at the top of the list in System Preferences > Network. And, be sure that your preferred network is at the top of the list in System Preferences > Network > Advanced.
2. Go Finder > Your HD > Library > Preferences > SystemConfiguration.
Move the SystemConfiguration folder to your Desktop.
Restart.
Try airport. Try your network. Try your browser.
3. Try creating a new location from System Preferences > Network and then deleting the older one.
4. Create a new admin user account and see if it works from there.
5. Do a repair install of Sno. Just install Sno over Sno as though doing an upgrade installation. Do all the networking/internet tasks at the end of the installation if possible. -
Bluetooth problems: prefs revert to defaults after reboot
Hi there,
I have a strange problem with Bluetooth and wireless input devices. I have set up Apple wireless keyboard and mouse, and also ticked "Show Bluetooth status in the menu bar" in Bluetooth preferences. However, after I reboot bluetooth icon disappears from the menu bar, and Magic Mouse prefs revert to defaults.
Apart from that, I am not able to tick "Allow Bluetooth devices wake up this computer" in Preferences – Bluetooth – Advanced.
What can it possibly be?
Before that I had the same issue with Dock (its icons would return to a certain state every time after reboot, no matter how I'd change or rearrange them before restarting). I managed to solve Dock issue by trashing Dock .plist files. I guess it may be the same with Bluetooth, but I don't know which .plist to trash this time (tried deleting com.apple.Bluetooth.plist, it doesn't work).I don't have a logitech mouse, but is it possible that the mouse is going to sleep during the reboot, and is thus unavailable when the OS is looking for it?

To test we put one of the Unmanaged device in beetween Switch and Other device it starts working even after Reboot .
Below is my port Config -What is causing this issue ?

spanning-tree portfastQuick Update on the 10.5 AD Binding test I said I was doing.
Every time I reboot on 10.5, it says Network Accounts Unavailable for a few seconds and then switches to Network Accounts Available.
On Snow Leopard, it never switches to Network Accounts Available, it stays stuck on unavailable.

MSI Control center windows 8.1 fan settings reset after reboot.
I wanted to see if anyone has any information about this. I have a z77a-gd65 motherboard running windows 8.1 and I have saved profiles for cpu fan and sys1/sys2 fans. After reboot the fan curves get reset to factoy defaults.
I didn't have this problem with windows 7 and am running the latest version of Control Center.
Is there a fix for this? Thanks in advance.I actually did find a response from MSI in a random query.
They said, 'CC is used for temporary changes, use the bios'.
Which I can see the validity of that statement, but at the same time, what if you want to adjust things to a finer degree than the bios and want it applied after restart?
I know you can save and load individual pages of the Command Center, but still..
I do find it VERY irritating I can't set fan speeds lower than 50% for the System Fans. (or is there a way to do this?) -
Lion takes 15 seconds to log in after reboot on Macbook Pro 13" (early 2011)
I have been having sluggish performance (repeated beachballs, etc.) on my Macbook Pro 13-inch (2.7 GHz Intel Core i7, 4 GB RAM), which I bought this summer pre-installed with Lion.
I didn't migrate my old system, I just installed everything on my new machine. After about 9 years of OS X upgrades on various machines, I decided to start fresh and just installed my applications and transferred the data manually. It took some time, but I wanted it lean and clean.
Within weeks though, things were starting to slow down. This morning, it took over 15 seconds after reboot before I could even log in to my user account (I clicked on the icon for my account, and after 4-5 seconds it beachballed for 10 seconds before the field for the password "slid" into place).
I've tried checking and unchecking having Lion restore my previous session before rebooting; closing all applications before restarting; not closing applications before restarting. But consistently, right after logging in for several minutes, and then after several hours of use (and/or the next day, if I put my laptop to sleep instead of shutting it down) opening, saving documents, viewing mailboxes after opening Mail, or even viewing folder contents in the Finder can take from several to 30+ seconds.
Here is the log from my most recent boot. I have Dropbox, LogMeIn, Default Folder, and Growl (the pre-App Store version), and I have Parallels (which I very rarely use), but I don't see why any of these would slow down my machine before I even log in. Besides this, I have pretty standard fair applications. I would very much appreciate any help/advice!

06/12/11 03:05:15,347 Microsoft Outlook: CFURLCreateWithBytes wAfter biting the bullet and ordering more RAM, my computer now is working a ton better. So that must have been the main issue. With 8 GB RAM, I can now even run Parallels fluidly (better than my work PC!) where before simple things like logging in to my MBP after reboot could take forever.
The place I went to had several other people getting RAM upgrades at the same time as me, so between this and other comments I've seen in discussions here and elsewhere on the Internets, I take it to mean that either Apple should bump up the base RAM on its new machines, and/or stop charging so much for additional RAM.
I refused to believe a Pro machine bought with Lion installed would come with too little RAM for light to medium usage, but it was apparently the case. I'll mark this as a correct answer and hope some other poor soul will come across this thread and be helped by it.
