After recent update of 31.2 Thunderbird will not properly sort address when addressing a new email.
When I try to address an email the sorting has become meaningless. It may present 4 choices that are not in ascending or descending order. The suggested addresses are not even alphabetically adjacent.
Thunderbird changed to addresses starting with the string you types to addresses containing the string you type. Thunderbird always displayed the results by popularity: The more an address is used, the higher it is listed.
The current behavior is not optimal, but is actively being worked on to be improved in the next version...

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:

Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

After I updated to yosemite my iMovie will not open. I have found the folders in the applications folder for both versions 9 and 10 but neither one opens when I double click on the icon. How do I remedy this?
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen. Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take one of the actions that you're having trouble with. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

After recent update to OS on iMac, communication to airport is lost when computer goes to sleep. To reestablish connection, I need to turn wifi off then on.

i have a time capsule.
symptoms:
excessively searching for network
but more often than not, it cant find the correct netowrk that is correctly stored in keychain
if i try network assistant opened through safari not finding its page, then it can find the right network after i enter in the password again. it connects. but only for a few seconds then it loses the connection again.
the only fool proof workaround for me is:
1/ shut down time capsule. restart time capsule.
2/ restart mac with airport turned off.
3/ after restart manually select the network from the wireless icon in the menu bar
airport utility is a complete waste of time
old airport utility is still better. -
Ok so I use an hdmi connector on my iPhone 4S to watch netflix. But after I updated to iOS 7 it will not work my tv doesn't receive a signal. Does anyone have any insure to this please help .!.!.
The 8 pin Lightning connector can only output 720p and lacks all iPod Out functionality unlike the full iPod Out functionality and 1080p that the 30 pin connector has and I suspect that they are coding iOS 7 specifically for the new devices which have severely reduced abilities and perhaps skipping adding the code needed for 30 pin devices to use their functionality with HDMI, etc.

Today I received the same message but have 4.6gb available from a total of 5.0gb. I also received the same message when i first set up my icloud account and icloud was virtually empty. Unfortunately the only way i can see to contact apple is to pay for a telephone call. If anyone knows what is going on i would appreciate knowing.

If you're referring to the proximity sensor blanking the screen, and you haven't made any other changes such as a screen protector or new case, try the basic troubleshooting steps described in the User Guide, Appendix B:
Restart, Reset, Restore using a backup. Restore as new. -

Does your problem have anything to do with Apple's Time Capsule Wi-Fi router? The reason I asked is that you posted your question in the section for that. If not, you might get better response by posting your question in the appropriate iPhone section. When you do, you should make clear what you mean by "open or load my aps". I can think of more than one thing that could mean. -
After System Update last night, the system will not boot with IOPlatformExpert.cpp:1504 error
I have had Lion for a 2, 3 months on the iMac 27 inch purchased last October (2011). Last night I chose to update the system, and deselected iMoves update because it was 1GB, and chose only 4 updates, including iTunes, Safari (i think)... But the update says error, and ask to restart the system (it won't restart itself, so I waited 30 minutes, and then pressed the Power button for 10 seconds, to let it power down, and press Power again to power it up).

camera worked the day before - updates loaded Saturday evening. Sunday morning the camera doesn't work through Firefox. It works on other applications (iChat, Photobooth, etc) but not through Firefox.
It works in FF4.0.1! "Right-click on a toolbar then choose "Customize". Look for the ruler icon in the popup that appears and drag it where ever you'd like it to appear. I put mine back at the top of my dev tool bar. Handy Little Tool!

Since the upgrade last week I am getting this constantly for one of my accounts. I have 42 email accounts and all have lived happily in Thunderbird for some years, but despite lowering the security in Gmail and changing the password, Thunderbird still has a problem with just this one account.
Any suggestions?Maybe check with the app developer and ask if their app works with iOS8? Otherwise you might want to identify the app if you would like some help with troubleshooting. Others can then tell you if it is working on their devices.

This morning I downloaded the latest Apple software updates. After the computer restarted, I cannot send/receive emails through Mail. I can, however, send emails through the Yahoo webpage. Nothing (user names, email address, password, etc.) was changed after the download/installation. I can get on the internet and my iPad works just fine, just not Mail.
That toolbar/ct plugin seems to cause problems for all who install it!
Just in case you missed some of the files:
Close Safari, then locate and delete the following files and it should be gone:

After recent update to Mountain Lion, trash won't empty completely; says "item" inuse
After recent update to Mountain Lion, trash will not empty completely. Always an item left in trash, and I get message that the "item is in use." Right now, using app Trash it! to get rid of that left behind item.
Try rebuilding Trash and see if that sorts it...
Launch Terminal and copy & paste these commands:
Go to /Applications /Utilities/Terminal and launch it.
At the prompt, copy and paste this command
sudo rm -rf ~/.Trash
Press Return.
You will be asked to enter your admin password. It will be invisible.
Enter it and press Return.
Log out and back in or restart.
