After Redirected Restore with different schema problems with db13

Hello, we made a redirected restore. We have different schema between production and quality system.
According to note 713524 we made the following changes:
create db connect user from the source system in the target system (unix user, sap<sid>)
set parameter dbs/db6/schema=sap<sid> in the instance profile
set dbs_db6_schema = sap<sid> in the environment for <sid>adm and db2<sid> (dbenv...)
add user sap<sid> into /sapmnt/<SID>/global/dscdb6.conf and set password with dscdb6up sap<sid> <password>
The system is now up and running. But transaction db13 is not working
SQL0443N  Routine "*SHOT_DBM" (specific name "")
has returned an error SQLSTATE with diagnostic
text "SQL1092  Reason code or token: SAPR3
               ".  SQLSTATE=38553
Regards,
Alexander

Hi Alexander
sorry , forget the grants , they should come from the source system .
If you have multiple App-Servers , did you perform the above mentioned action in all affected profiles and environments of your Q-System ?
Please check , if you can limit this issue to an separate App-Server or to all App-Servers .
Best regards
dirk

  • Mail and Safari Crash after Full Restore with Time Machine

I did a complete restore with time Machine. I opened Mail and it did it's thing importing all the mail and creating it's new index and folders. Now Mail and Safari will not work. They crash every time I open them.
They were working fine, the only reason I did the restore was I inadvertently formated my hard drive while trying to install boot camp.
Anyone have any idea what to do?
    Mario

I have exactly the same problem as iGin. All other programs appear to be behaving normally, just Apple Mail and Safari crash immediately after starting them up - very annoying!

  • Ipad in recovery mode tells me to plug it into itunes to restore. and error (40) pops up after verifying restore with apple.

My Ipad 2 is in recovery mode it tells me to plug it into itunes to restore.Once I do an error (40) pops up after while verifying restore with apple. I called and they said it was with my norton security so I shut everything off  on norton and tried again but it still comes up with the same thing. Is there anyone that could help please!!

Same thing happened here ~ tech guy at a local authorized Apple repair store said it had something to do with improper backup from which the restore would be made. Still have a phone that asks to be connected to Itunes but won't do anything else . . . frustrated.

  • Are messages gone after not restoring with iCloud?

Because of a bad backup with iCloud my CameraRoll did not work correctly. So i decided to restore my iphone through itunes, but not restore with Icloud untill after I got into the iphone. I saw then when i synced with icloud again the messages did not sync.... does that mean the messages are gone forever?

If the device was backed up prior to the update (it should have been as this is part of the update process) simply restore from the backup.  Otherwise they are gone.
Why do you choose to not backup the device regularly?  The same "loss of data" would occur should the device fail, be lost, or stolen.

  • A ton of photos are missing from my iphone after having restored with icloud

my wife restored her iphone 4s this afternoon and lost a lot of pictures.
can anyone help me figure out where they went and how to get them back onto her phone?

Only Photos stored in the Camera Roll are backed up to iCloud.  Any photos synced from the computer or added in other albums will not be restored when restoring form iCloud.  To retrieve those photos, you must sync with the computer or set up the service that created the album where the photos were stored, such as Facebook or Dropbox.

  • Getting old messages back after a restore with no back up

Hello. I tried to download a ringtone and my phone then told me it needed to restore because of the updates. I transferred my purchases over but stupidly didn't make a back up. After restorting I realised the most recent back up I had was for April. So I used that back up. However does anybody know whether it is possible, in any way, for me to get my phone restored back to just before it decided to restore. I've tried looking through the forums but have had no luck. any help is appreciated. Thanks

I read something on the other forums about being able to get it back without a back up, but it didn't work. My fault for not making a back up. Thanks for the help anyway.

  • SCVMM Service Fails to start after SCOM Restore (with possible fix)

    Hi,
Found an issue today that SCVMM 2012 SP1 Service (with rollup's) would not start. Only think I was told was that recently the SCOM Database had been dropped and re-created. We did have SCVMM connected to SCOM.
I got some errors like this on the SCVMM Server
    Log Name:      VM Manager
    Source:        Virtual Machine Manager
    Date:          12/27/2013 12:45:29 PM
    Event ID:      19999
    Task Category: None
    Level:         Error
    Keywords:      Classic
    User:          N/A
    Computer:      SCVMM01.domain.local
    Description:
Virtual Machine Manager (vmmservice:3036) has encountered an error and needed to exit the process. Windows generated an error report with the following parameters:
    Event:VMM20
    P1(appName):vmmservice
    P2(appVersion):3.1.6032.0
    P3(assemblyName):E.MomDal.MOMFacadeFactory
    P4(assemblyVer):3.1.6011.0
    P5(methodName):M.V.E.M.FacadeFactory.Create[T]
    P6(exceptionType):System.NullReferenceException
    P7(callstackHash):42ec
    Any Ideas?

I think I found the issue.
I found that because SCVMM had been tied into SCOM, it failed to start if SCOM was running with a fresh database and didn't know about SCVMM.
    I got around this by
    * Turning off both SCOM servers in our environment
    * Starting the SCVMM Service
    * Disabling the connection from SCVMM to SCOM (Remove-SCOpsMgrConnection -force in VMM Powershell)
Not sure if this is the correct way to resolve this issue but it seemed to.
Should this have been solved another way?

  • Database restore with same SID and different schema owner

    Dear all,
I have quality system on HP-UX oracle platform which has been upgraded from 4.6C to ECC 5.0
and schema owner for the database is still SAPR3
I have installed new Test system with version ECC 5.0 with same SID and now i need to refresh its database with Data from QAS system ... owner at Test system is SAPC11 which is new installation ECC 5.0 and where SID is C11.
I need to know once i restore data what steps i need to carry out at Test system
i.e like change ENV settings from SAPC11 to SAPR3.
Please note SID is same on both hosts. and owner is different SAPR3 and SAPC11
    Regards,
    RR

    Dear all ,
Thanks for your views . but i have already installed ECC 5.0 on
target machine with schema owner as default SAPC11 (sid)
Is there any other way out ... instead of doing reinstallation with schema owner SAPR3 / instead of doing Export-Import system copy method which again is as good as reinstallation.
I would like to have your views on following ,
when i will restore database from source to taget
al tables in target machine will be having owner as SAPR3 ( which came from source ) ...but my DB owner at Target machine is SAPC11 ( as far as ENV and all profiles are concerned ) .... cant i use SAPR3 user which got restored with backup of source to target to start my instance at Target machine... may be by changing ENV settings.
I really appreciate and thank you in adavance for sharing your views.
    Regards,
    RR

  • Problems after doing full restore with Time Machine

If I reinstall Leopard and and do a complete restore with time Machine, I have to erase my Time Machine backup drive and do a complete TM backup from scratch because TM will not pick up where it left off doing incremental backups. It wants to start over like it's never done any backups at all. It's a pain because it take me 4 or 5 hours to back up 270 GB. I've had to do this twice so far because once I had a problem with my startup drive and just today I made an external hard drive with leopard and restored all my files via TM.
Is there anyway to get out of starting over from scratch when I do a full restore with TM ?

The following procedure works for me if your restore happens to be from the last backup that Time Machine completed. (I'm not sure if it would work just as well if you restore from an older point in the Time Machine history -- but it certainly should!):
After you complete the full restore (which will force a Restart when it completes), log in and then immediately go to System Preferences / Time Machine and Turn Off Time Machine to prevent any premature additional backups.
Now go to System Preferences / Spotlight / Privacy and drag the icons for all your hard drives (including your main hard drive and the Time Machine hard drive) from the Desktop into the Privacy list. This will stop Spotlight indexing of all these drives to speed things up for what follows. You will do the indexing later (see below).
If you have any sort of automatic virus protection active, disable it at this point to speed up what follows.
Then Restart again (to get things into a fresh state), and then immediately do a Repair Permissions for your main hard drive (using Applications / Utilities / Disk Utility). Be patient. This will take 30 minutes or more and the progress bar may not advance until the very end. Do not be alarmed when several hundred notifications come up, as most of them are minor tidying up items, but some are significant. For example, you will see the ownership get adjusted for every help file in every language for every Lexar printer the system knows about (minor). You will also see the permissions adjusted for the root directory of your main hard drive (significant).
And all of these permission and ownership repairs will happen EVEN THOUGH the files you backed up into your Time Machine may have had no such problems. They are, apparently, a result of the method that Time Machine uses to rebuild your file system during the restore.
When the permission repair eventually completes, Quit Disk Utility and Shut Down the computer.
Now reset the Parameter memory (PRAM). PRAM holds copies of certain system settings for rapid access. To do this, hold down the 4 keys Apple-Option-P-R continuously and press and release the power button. When you hear the SECOND startup chime, release those 4 keys. The system will continue to boot up normally. This makes sure the system's Parameter memory is in sync with the System Preferences resulting from the restore you just completed. It probably would have been anyway, but this makes sure. Among other things, this makes sure the system takes proper note of your "computer name" (System Preferences / Sharing) which is crucial to Time Machine's ability to recognize and use your previous backup database on the Time Machine hard drive.
Now log in and fire up Mail to let it automatically finish the restore of its mailboxes by importing the necessary mail lists. Quit Mail when it finishes.
If you have any other, application specific tasks to perform to complete the restore for any other applications, now is the time to do them.
Finally, go back into System Preferences / Spotlight / Privacy, select the line showing your main hard drive in the list, and click the "-" on the bottom to remove it from the list. Repeat this for every other hard drive EXCEPT for your Time Machine hard drive. Exit System Preferences. Spotlight will now begin to re-index those hard drives from scratch. Watch this by clicking on the Spotlight icon in the menu bar. Wait for indexing to finish.
Your restore is now at the point where you can let Time Machine do a new backup.
I suggest you Restart again to get things into a fresh state (not truly necessary, but it is what I do). Then go into System Preferences / Time Machine and, at long last, Turn On Time Machine again. Then do a Back Up Now (right click on the Time Machine icon in the dock and select Back Up Now from the pop up menu).
Because of the restore, Time Machine will now do a Deep Traversal of your entire file system looking for EVERYTHING that has changed compared to the last backup on its hard drive (rather than depending on the file system transaction logs as it normally does to make incremental backups happen much faster). The "Preparing" stage for this will take a long time -- about as long as a Repair Permissions pass in Disk Utility. Eventually Time Machine will start transferring files. This will be a backup of significant size because all the permissions repairs you did above, etc., count as changes as far as Time Machine is concerned, not to mention that certain portions of the file system are rebuilt during the restore. But it should be WELL SHORT of actually doing a complete backup of everything on your system. I.e., it is just a particularly large, but nevertheless incremental, backup added on to the previous stuff on your Time Machine disk.
Crucial to this is that Time Machine recognizes the prior database on its hard drive as applying to your computer. Thus the permissions repair and PRAM resetting steps above.
When that backup eventually completes, go into System Preferences / Spotlight and remove your Time Machine drive from the Privacy list. Exit System Preferences and wait for Spotlight to finish re-indexing your Time Machine drive.
Restart once again, just to get things into a fresh state, and then re-enable any antivirus "live protection" stuff you disabled above.
    You are done.
From this point on, Time Machine should do "normal" incremental backups, and the previous history of Time Machine backups should be accessible and used by Time Machine just as before.

  • Switch To Different Schema Connection With Existing Application

    Hi,
Currently, i want to connect my existing application to a different schema, how should i do it?
The situation is that i have two schema(call Database Connection in JDeveloper) that have exactly the same structure, as one is duplicated from anothe. My purpose of doing this is to use one of the schema for daily operation, while the other for testing.
I have tried with this method:
    1. Right click on the Business Component project node and select Edit Business Component Project.
    2. In the Connection Tab, i change the Connection Name to the new schema(which used for testing).
    3. Then i open my .jsp page and sad to see the it's still retrieving data from the old schema.
Am i hitting it with the wrong tactic? Please lemme know if there's any way that i can solve my problem.
    Thanks,
    Sin Leng

    Hi,
The code snippet provided above must be executed whenever an ApplicationModule is first used by a new session but only after
that ApplicationModule has been connected (otherwise the connection will not be available). Depending upon the type of client that
you are developing (Swing vs. servlet for example) the right place to put this code could vary. Further, if your ApplicationModule
and/or connection is pooled you must also be careful to reset this information whenever an ApplicationModule is serially reused
    by different clients.
As of 9.0.3, the BC4J framework has provided a single hookpoint for all clients to manage session context on the middle tier. The
method is oracle.jbo.server.ApplicationModuleImpl.prepareSession(Session). This method is invoked whenever a session
(represented by a SessionCookie in the BC4J framework) uses an ApplicationModule which it had not referenced from a previous
request. The Session parameter is the ApplicationModule session context which BC4J will automatically update with the
userData context of the client side SessionCookie before prepareSession(Session) is invoked. This makes custom, client
side context available to the midtier. Further this method is invoked after BC4J has connected the ApplicationModule, so it is a safe
hookpoint for initializing custom DB session context as well as MT session context.
In order for BC4J to make the client side SessionCookie userData context availabe in prepareSession
the SessionCookie userData context must have been set before SessionCookie.useApplicationModule has been invoked. Please see
the javadoc for SessionCookie.getUserData() and or the pooling sample ($JDEV_HOME/BC4J/samples/Pooling) for more information
about acquiring a SessionCookie reference programmatically (so that you can initialize the SessionCookie userData). Other options
may be to set up the userData in a custom SessionCookieFactory. Please see the pooling sample for a sample custom
    SessionCookieFactory implementation.
    Hope this helps.

  • Materialized view with tables in different schemas

    Hello,
I want to create a materialized view with a table from a different schema in the SELECT statement. For materialized view I would like to apply the "REFRESH COMPLETE ON COMMIT" option.
    Here the code:
    CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW S1.MV_EXAMPLE
    TABLESPACE TS1
    PCTFREE 0
    BUILD IMMEDIATE
    REFRESH COMPLETE ON COMMIT
    AS
    SELECT T.COLUMN1 COLUMN
    FROM S2.TABLE1 T
I can't execute this SQL because I get an "insufficient privileges" error to this table:
    FROM S2.TABLE1 T
    FEHLER in Zeile 9:
    ORA-01031: Insufficient privileges
User S1 has the following privileges:
    CREATE SESSION
    CREATE SNAPSHOT
    CREATE TABLE
    CREATE QUERY REWRITE
    SELECT ANY TABLE
User S2 has the following privileges:
    CREATE SESSION
    CREATE SNAPSHOT
    CREATE TABLE
    CREATE QUERY REWRITE
    ALTER ANY SNAPSHOT
    Which privileges are missing?
    Thanks, Mathias

    Thanks Kamal for your answer!
S1 has the grant select directly. But I solveld the problem. The system privilege "ON COMMIT REFRESH" was missing for S1. This has to be set if any of the tables are outside the owner's schema of the materialized view (ORACLE documentation - Data Warehouse Guide).
But one thing is not clear to me yet and the ORACLE documentation doesn't give me an answer. I can set the refresh-attribute ON COMMIT on a materialized view containing only joins when a group by clause is set. If the group by clause is missing I can't! Why?

  • Help with Photoshop Elements 10 after system restore

Hi I need some help and guidance. I have successfully installed my Photoshop Elements 10 twice now; once on my own; and following a MS Vista System Restore; with the help of Adobe support . I then worked on it for a day and all was well.
But unbeknown to me at the time, I had a MS System corruption that was causing Boot issues resulting in a forced Restore of my system and both Restores caused the Photoshop elements desk-top shortcut to disappear and a subsequent PSE10 re-install to fail with the dreaded Data7 , and "Application Shared Technologies" and rollback of Orgainizer and Editor etc etc.
I now realise that the two events were connected and the Adobe Support Person helped me get PSE10 up and running but it involved a lot of file permission changes etc, which lost me in the process, which was done remotely. PS Great customer support!!
After sorting out my MS Vista problem due to "Corrupt System" files, I now need to get my PSE10 up and running again; but how?
    Regards John

Have you tried uninstalling and installing again?
    thanks.

  • Analytic View with tables from different schema

    Hi,
I'm curious if I make something wrong or if this is not possible:
I want to use two tables each in a different schema. I can drop them into the DataFoundation, can connect them, assign them some measure. But activation fails due to insufficient privileges. When I use the tables from the same schema activation works well. With the insufficient privileges I would guess HANA cannot create a View (failed with the statement CREATE COLUMN_VIEW "_SYS_BIC"."USER/ANALYTIC_VIEW_NAME"....).
Since I tried the same assignment with the System-User and failed I wonder what kind of permissions are required. Or is this generally not allowed (resp. prohibited)?
If not allowed, could somebody give me a hint, why its not possible?
If it is possible, what kind of rights are required to get it working?
    roland

Hm', I have allowed SYS_REPO the rights to the table and was able to activate the view. But now I have the problem, that the DataPreview is not working (again insufficient privileges). What user has to have additional permissions for the JDBC-query?
Do I have to take care more on the privileges for other things?
