After reinstallation Bridge in CS6 is suffering from 'Not responding' slowing problems.
Bridge was working fine before reinstall and PS is still fine. Others with similar issues have not found a solution. Is there one???
Curt Y wrote:
Harry,
Usually resetting preferences by holding down Ctrl key and start Bridge is all you have to do.
But the address to remember for keywords, labels, cache and other stuff is Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CSx/Bridge
THe appdata folder is a hidden file so turn that option on in Window Explorer first.
Here, that address above looks like this:
C:\Users\harry\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\
and under that address there is no mention of "Bridge" whatsoever.
I failed to mention that I am running the Cloud versions of CS6, perhaps that makes a difference?
See the screen grab, and note that there is no directory or file with "b r i d g e" in it anywhere under the
directories shown.
(Note: The full address appears at the bottom of the image)
Perhaps you meant here: C:\Users\harry\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge CS6:

After reinstallation on a new computer program did not start
Why did the program not start after reinstallation on a new computer????
If my memory serves me correctly you can only have Aperture 3 installed on 1 computer at a time so if you have it installed on the original Mac and this new system at the same time it may give you a multiple installations detected warning or something of that nature.
Best of luck.
That is correct however Aperture does allow multiple installs to allow a user to have Aperture running on one computer at a time. For example a photographer may have a MacPro notebook and and Mac Pro desktop. He can use the license when he's on a shoot in the field using the MBP while the Mac Pro sits dormant at home. The software is sophisticated enough to detect he's trying to run one license on multiple machines simultaneously. I have successfully migrated Aperture myself and use it on my iMac and MacBook Air however as stated only one machine at a time.
The OP mentions the machine is new to him, which complicates matters quite a bit. I hope he got the original media from the seller if he did not then there is a good chance he is running illegal software and was duped by the seller. The OP doesn't say where he got the iMac so I'm assuming he bought it used, if I am correct then this is one the problems of buying used, caveat emptor. If I'm incorrect (like maybe it was a hand-me-down from a relative) then all he needs to do is get the media and key code.
Apple is careful on it's licensing on it's professional software.

Bridge CC 64 Windows 8.1 not responding
Installed Bridge CC 64 on a new computer running Windows 8.1.
Intel i5 - 4440S
8GB Ram
Intel 4400 Graphics
Installation went fine. Opens a little slow but what ever you click on, pull-down menus, Computer, Folders I get a "not responding" error at the top of the screen. After about 15-20 seconds the action clicked on will finally work. When I log out of my profile and log into the guest log in, Bridge work fast and perfect. There must be a program or file conflict in my regular profile that is interfering with Bridge. Any ideas where I can start to look?
Thankssame problem. did you find solution?

Instantly says not responding the second I try to run it. I deleted the install file and tried to re-download, but I get the same problem. I don't know if it helps at all, but this is the error it was giving me in console when I would try to run it and it would stop responding.

thanks for any helpTry a restart.
Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

After launching Adobe CC many processes show as (Not Responding) in Activity Monitor
I'm running Adobe CC on a new Apple MacPro 6,1 (12-core with 64GB RAM). I find that many processes get into a (Not Responding) state as displayed by Activity Monitor.
Typically, when one sees a process (Not Responding) there's really not much that can be done other than using Activity Monitor to Quit or Force Quit the process. I've done this but the (Not Rsponding) processes even after being Quit/terminated, get relaunched with a different PID and will go into the (Not Responding) state almost immediately.
Here's a typical situation I captured today. In this example it's the Qmaster process.
This is becoming very annoying. However, I'm not sure what the implications of these (Not Responding) processes are. They do hold onto memory resouces but obviously aren't consuming/stealing CPU cycles. The Adobe CC does however become sluggish, so I'm thinking there's definitely a problem/bug here that Adobe needs to resolve.
Any insights or help resolving this issue is most welcomed. Thank you.
Is the Apple's Mavericks "App Nap" feature somehow involved with this I wonder ? I do have that box unchecked in Energy Saver preferences.
Message was edited by: foob66You have a program running that is incompatible. What third-party sound or audio applications are you running? It will be one of those. If you quit them the problem should disappear. You will have to force quit coreaudio and UserEventAgent via Activity Monitor or restart the computer but do not run the third-party application(s).

After installing snow leopard most applications appear to not respond
After installing snow leopard most applications appear "not responding"
Message was edited by: john770Hi John, Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Please go to "My Settings"and give us more information about your Mac. It's on this page at upper right ➦
On your menu choose "About this Mac" and fill in : Version, Model, Processor and Memory. Also, your "available" hard drive space which will will be at the bottom of your Finder window (xx GB available).
Try Safe Mode (It will take more time to startup in Safe Mode because it runs a directory check.)
If your apps function correctly that way, go to System Preferences >> Accounts >> Login Items, and remove them. Boot normally and test. If not go to Users/(yourname)/Library/Contextual Menu Items and move whatever is there to the desktop. Then do the same with /Library/Contextual Menu Items. Lastly, try moving ~(yourHome)/Library/Fonts to your desktop and restarting.
Log out/in or restart, if that sorts it start putting items back one at a time until you find the culprit.

After installing Mavericks my computer is suffering from constant kernel panics
Hi, I installed Mavericks when it came out. Ever since then, my computer restarts on its own at lesat 4 or 5 times per day. Normally I'm web browsing when this happens.
Separately, Google Chrome goes through phases when it gives the "Oh snap!" error no matter what website I visit. If I walk away from my computer and try a little later it will work again. Firefox simply crashes constantly.
I ran Disk Repair. It did find damage and "repaired" it, but the problem has not gone away. Mavericks is the only new installation I've made other than automatic updates for Mac software and Apps. Here is a report after hte most recent panic. What should I do?

Artificial intelligence loop - prevent the application from not responding
Hello there! I'm trying for fun and for knowledge to build up a simple "bot" which takes informations from the environment (and thus not only from the application itself).
The first attempt to build it was to create a "mainLoop", containing some conditions with sub-loops, going into loop via
- (BOOL) mainLoop {
loop:;
if(/* conditions to exit */) return NO;
// my conditions with subloops
goto loop;
return YES; // will never be cast
The problem is that as soon as I start the program, it will stop responding.
Is my approach wrong? How would you structure it?
ThanksThank you, I've tested those codes and learnt something more about threads. Wanting an Objective C solution (just to learn this superset too, without having to port this code on other platforms), I found my error and resolved.
There was still a series of warnings about memory leaking, so surfing on the web I found what an NSAutoreleasePool is and I used it to do threaded stuff and release it at the end.
Now, threading my process, I came to another problem:
* __NSAutoreleaseNoPool(): Object 0x3174e0 of class MemoryAccess autoreleased with no pool in place - just leaking
^-- this and similar errors, like
* __NSAutoreleaseNoPool(): Object 0x30f600 of class NSCFString autoreleased with no pool in place - just leaking
I haven't written the MemoryAccess class, nor is present within my threaded code. I suspect that threading my process may lead to something unwanted within various threads? I'm not sure about that.
The question is: how to find where this class is missing of NSAutoreleasePools?
This is my actual code:
mainLoop evocation:
NSAutoreleasePool *mainLoopPool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init];
[NSThread detachNewThreadSelector:@selector(mainLoop) toTarget:self withObject:nil];
[mainLoopPool release];
mainLoop method:
- (void) mainLoop {
int nLoop = LOOP_NULL;
NSAutoreleasePool *subLoopPool;
while (/* loop conditions */) {
subLoopPool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init];
if(nLoop != LOOP_EVENT1 && /* event1 conditions */) {
NSLog(@"LOOP: Entering event1 Loop");
nLoop = LOOP_EVENT1;
[self performSelector:@selector(event1Loop) onThread:[NSThread currentThread] withObject:nil waitUntilDone:YES];
else if(nLoop != LOOP_EVENT2 && /* event2 conditions */) {

nLoop = LOOP_EVENT2;
[self performSelector:@selector(event2Loop) onThread:[NSThread currentThread] withObject:nil waitUntilDone:YES];
[subLoopPool release];
[subLoopPool release];
For now event1/2Loop methods are just infinite while cycles with no functions evocated in but the conditional ones.
After a while the program crashes due to
Thread 0 Crashed: Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread
0 libobjc.A.dylib 0x93720ed7 objc_msgSend + 23
1 com.apple.CoreFoundation 0x967f50ed _CFAutoreleasePoolPop + 253
There are something like 20 autoreleasepool errors, then the log "LOOP: Entering event1 loop"

After iOS5 update, music is appearing in grey (not listenable) more problems
So I updated to iOS 5 and now most of my music is in grey and I am not able to listen to it. Its confusing as half of an album is listenable and the other half is not. Also, I have lost all my album covers. I have tried syncing numerous times and know the songs in question are added on my iphone playlist. It worked perfectly before this uddate....
I have had a similar hiccups with my 3G ipod touch 64gb after updating it with the new iOS 5. While syncing in iTunes on my MacBook, the storage bar on the bottom will show that most of the space is taken up with my songs that I want synced from iTunes but when I go to use the iPod touch after ejecting it from the MacBook the songs are listed in a ghost like consistency but the actual files are not there and I can't get any response when I touch the song title or album that I want played. In fact, when looking at the "About" inquiry screen within the Settings on the ipod touch, it shows that most all of my space is unused. Where are the phantom files, and why doesn't a synch work as smoothly as before? Conversely, my 4G ipod touch works flawlessly, so far, with the new iOS 5. I am afraid that the new iOS 5 isn't ready for prime time when it comes to the 3G ipod touches. Have any others had a similar problem when it comes to synching music, which used to sync flawlessly without problems, to their 3G ipod touches with the new iOS 5 upgrade?

I have CS6 design standard, indesign stopped responding earlier in the week, I can't remove it from the dock. I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it a number of times but it still won't open. I get messages saying "You can’t open the application “Adobe InDesign CS6” because it is not responding." and "The application “Adobe InDesign CS6” is not open anymore." when I try to open it. All the other applications are working fine. I have it on my laptop and there's no problem with it there. Obviously I'd rather work on my desktop than my laptop! Also I don't want to have to go down the route of downloading and paying for the CC version when I have the software.
I don't understand what that is. I can give you all the information regarding the computer/software. Why do you need crash logs? The application isn't crashing its not responding at all

FORM NOT RESPONDING AFTER UPGRADING TO ORACLE 10GR2 DATABASE
Hi All
We are upgrading from Oracle 9i (single AIX Server) to Oracle 10gR2 on HACMP of 2 AIX 5.3 Server.
Our application is in Forms 9.0.4 deployed into iAS 10.1.2.0.2.
There is a custom Login Form that checks for UserID and Password and validate
to Authentication Table.
This form works fine in Oracle 9i but doesn't work in Oracle 10g (After
Upgrading).
On the Login Form, this happen :
After user enter UserID the forms query the DB and display UserName succesfully,
but after enter Password and press OK, it does not responding,
takes forever to complete..
Additional information :
Before : After :
Oracle 9i Oracle 10gR2
SIngle AIX Server Two AIX Server in HACMP
Charset : AL16UTF16 WE8ISO....
Given the information above, What could possibly cause this problem ?
Thank you for your help,
xtanto.xtanto,
not sure what causes the problem, but my suggestion is to check the password query.
To give you another hint: Your way of authenticating users is not hack safe. As you describe that providing a user ID will show the name first before I have to provide the password, it allows me to fish for valid user accounts. The recommended way of using login screens is to have the user enetring userid and password in teh same screen and use both information to authenticate the user in a single query.
