After reinstalling Elements 8 how to recover tags and catalogues?

Had to reinstal
Elements 8 and resynched names in Albums but it did not restore any of the many tags that I had. Of course none of the picture thumbnails were restored but I do have a set of disks from a Catalogue save from last year. What sequence should I use to attempt to have Elements 8 recognize my images, which, fortunately, were on an external hard drive and are intact?

Yes, I had to reformat the hard drive. I had backed up my catalog about a
year ago and decided to restore it. The restoration went OK although it
was not currant for the last year but at least I salvaged a lot.
During the restoration, I was required to make a choice as to restore to
the original location or to a new one. I chose the latter not knowing if it
meant overwriting the original image files themselves. Do you know what
the consequences would have been had I chosen to restore to the "original"
site?

Actually, both the SMS and the phone numbers were gone. I thought that *#7370# was a soft reset without data loss, yet I lost all SMS and phone numbers as said. I did the soft reset because the Nokia E71 was stuck after the PIN password sometimes and I had to try several times to enter. It is a new phone with just a few days of use.
Anyway, I am most interested on recovering the SMS data if that is possible. I was thinking on something like this:

So, the question seems to be: does *#7370# on the Nokia E71 deletes the SMS data, or does it only mark them as deleted? It the latter, it should be possible to recover them. And then, how?

Yes, someone stole my original apple id in 2009. Now i bought another iphone in late 2012 , Created another apple id due to Apple not being able to help me access my original apple id. Which now since 2 months ago someone or company, or bank stole my second apple id. My iphone 4s with Sprint has no celluar connection supossedly due to no internet that is what sprint said but I looked it up on apple and it stated that there is a cellluar block on my iphone4s.
So I guess I will have to go in person to Sprint so they can explain that to me and why I was lied to on the phone earlier. Back to my 2nd stolen apple id that I registered my macbook,airport express router, and iphone4s and apple TV. So who ever stole this apple id obviously took over all my mac products I had registered to it. Enough about that back to trying to use time machine....Everytime i do, my macbook just starts acting all screwed up. I bought a WD external drive for Mac but I believe someone must have claimed it too. Since there is 75gb on it that I can't access. Kind of like my Macbook stating I can't save or have access to the Root . That is another thing after reinstalling snow lepoard which works great until I update it. Which is a problem because everytime I update it to 10.6.8 All the permissions are changed the graphics look horrible and I get redirected so bad its not funny. The email account is a joke. Also I notice my stationary for email is in Spanish not sure why and on Iworks the document samples are also in spanish. Now I dont speak any other language except ENGLISH AND HAVE LIVED IN UNITEDSTATES MY ENTIRE LIFE. But my internet provider Fibrant which swears they are local shows it is in the UK also when i try to access my email for that account it states it is not safe , certificate is expired and someone might be trying to impersonate my server. Needless to say it is getting old. I had this same problem with Timewarner and Att except att would just remove my ethernet driver then laugh when i would call and ask what the problem was. Then later I find out when I had DSL that somehow the phone number they had listed was change to being a digit off from my DSL account which again they laughed and thought it was funny. Enough about that. I need to know how to get access to my Apple id. I gave up on the first one but the second one I did have access to until I registered all my apple products. What is up with every thing I have with a usb port being corrupt. I have also notice anywhere in town where I live my phone is English until I come home it is arabic,hebrew , spanish any language except English. Shouldn't I be safer in my home??????????????? But I am not I am safer in town or anywhere but my home. EVerything states international in my home and this has been going on since 2009.....No one can tell me why. Back to my iphone 4s problem. My icloud email account gets alot of spam starting about 2 months ago and I can't stop it. I won't to connect my iphone to itunes to try to restore it but it states I have to update it to 10.6.8. When I do that my computer is alot worse off. Also how can I use TimeMachine with out my Macbook getting messed up? Something in my house has taken over anything with a usb port actually years ago and probably now something kept turning all my computers and phones or any electronic I owned it to a printer. I actually can't even use a printer in my home thats the funny thing. When I try to connect one when I used windows it stated I had no rights to it and couldn't use it. Since I switch to Mac not much better. When I try to print a test page it is all crooked and too small of half off the page. So it is upsetting that I can't use a printer but something keeps turning all my electronics into printers. If anyone knows how to fix this problem that would be great or to stop all this international stuff going on in my home that would be wonderful. I try to buy brand new pcs but soon as I start them up something had already taken over. This is with nothing electronic in my home on. Turn everything that a power switch off or unplugged it. You don't know how many times I wish I had never backed my iphone 4s to my Macbook. Right after I could not log into it. Even used the disk to reset the password nope still couldn't log into it. Try to type the formula for resetting the password and nope it didn't work either.

Elements 6 to 8 - lost tags and ratings

I was running Elements 6 on my old computer with over 6000 photos tagged and rated.... the computer died and I had the hard drive removed. I installed Elements 8 (trial version) on my new computer and copied over all the photos from my old drive. The photos copied over but none of the tags or ratings did. No, I didn't do a backup from Elements (bad, I know). So, I have access to all the files on my old drive, is the tag information stored anywhere? I found the old catalog file but Elements 8 doesn't recognize it. Should I remove version 8 and install 6 instead? or????

You need to recover the entire PSE 6 catalog folder and then convert the catalog from PSE 6 format to PSE 8:
1. Find the PSE 6 catalog folder on the old drive. It contains a file "catalog.psedb"; see this tech note for likely locations:

2. Copy the entire folder to the same location on your new C drive (it's not essential that it be in the same location, but it reduces confusion).
3. Start PSE 8, do File > Catalog > Convert, and select your old PSE 6 catalog to convert. You should now have all your tags, albums, ratings, captions, dates/times, etc. in PSE 8. If you run into any problems converting the catalog, see this FAQ:

How to delete tag and link in webcenter spaces .

After logging into the webcenter spaces i am getting tags and link on the hight hand corner of the page .
Can anyone provide some idea how can i delete or make it invisible .

I'm not quiet sure about about how to fix but i have some ideas in mind... I don't have currently a spaces environment so i can't check...
1) Try disabling the links and tag services. This is done in the group space configuration, service tab. I'm not sure if they are there but if, you can disable them and it should solve your problem.
2) It's also possible that the links and tags section is implemented in the template of the page. In order to modify this, you can create your own template or modify the existing one. There was a nice whitepaper about templates in WCS but it seem to be removed because of the PS3 release.
Are you using 11.1.1.3 or 11.1.1.4.
It would be easier if you are using the latest one but since it has only been released since today...

Finding shortcut after reinstalling Elements 6

For some reason my Elements 6 program quit working. The error message said I had to contact techinical werivce or reinstall. Since it is no longer being supported I tried to reinstall.
When I did reinstall I did not get the logo as a shortcut on my desk top but rather a "window". When I tried to open it said it could not find the program.
It appears to have lost its short cut to be opened. The same "window" appears in the list of programs on my comperter in the "start" menue.
Help!!!

I did not understand it either after I wrote it .... so lets try again.
Here is where I am now and how I got here.
I tried to open Elements 6. I got this error message. "Licensing subsystem
has failed catastrophically. You must reinstall or call support".
I called support but they do not support Elements 6 any longer and pointed
me to this forum.
I tried to reinstall but it did not do any good.
I then did a "system restore" back to a couple of days ago when things were
OK and got the same message when I tried to open Elements after the "system
restore".
I am not sure what to do next. Any advice?

My iTunes Library cleared out after the forced shutdown, how to recover it?

So here is the thing, yesterday as usual, i was adding songs to my 10,000 tracks library's super organized as i do most of the time. Then i decided to shut down the computer instead of just putting in of just hibernating him as i always do.. So my habit was to just close the laptop, this time i had it clicked to shut down but then i closed it before it really turned off. That means today when i opened it back it still was asking me if i really wanted to force quit the applications i had still opened, i said 'yes' and then the computer truly shut down. Then i restarted it again, opened browser, and when i open iTunes ALL my library was simply gone!
I know that i didnt trashed any of the .itl or .xml files the day before so i really shocked when i saw it I dont know why did it happened, i wasnt updating iTunes or anything else..
I went to 'iTunes' Folder in 'Music' folder, and there were the 'iTunes Library' .itl and a 'iTunes Library (2)' files along with the usual Extra, Genius .itl files and the .xml too.
So ive searched on the thrash that by casualty still had files from TEMP folder i had erased a few weeks ago, and there only Extra and Genius .itl files but no iTunes Library .itl file... So it was not a thing happened by my manual deleting.
I've tried re-installing the latest version of iTunes i found on the site (it was just a 'repair' since the version was up to date) and opened it again and there was still nothing :/
I checked 'Previous iTunes Libraries' folder and f****! The newest file was from March this year (2012), i knew that ive added hundreds of new songs since that date and one other thing, i knew that date was not the latest update ive done to iTunes, the last one was for sure way after that kinda something in May or June so i dont know too why did it not appeared that .itl file.
So i tried opening that 'iTunes Library (2)', and from my 10k songs it would only show ~8900 and then i tried the 'iTunes Library' from March and it would only show 9000 songs, So i guess im ****** up by 1000 songs difference... That is a lot a still, since they were all organized by Name, Artist, Album, Genre, Year, Rate, Times Played, Artwork,etc..
So now i have serious problems..
Do you have any suggestion on ways i could follow in order to find my 'Yesterday' Library infos and songs? With all the stuff it had? Like rewinding in time?
Even if you dont, and presuming i would want to add those 1000 missing files from the iTunes Music folder where, dont know why, says i have 14k songs, which is very strange since i always delete to recicle bin all the songs i want to clear out from the Library so they wont stay in folder and not in iTunes, so how could i add those missing 1000 without adding those other 9000 that would be repeated??
Please, somebody help me with this, because at this moment im really out of solutions and my Library and its organization are "my babies" and it would be a devastating loss to me if i have to ruined this way :S

Reinstalling iTunes won't ever repair damaged libraries or find lost files.
Unlike nearly all Windows software double-clicking an iTunes Library file does not necessarily open the selected database. Rather, iTunes opens the last database it successfully opened, or if that was in the "normal" <User's Music>\iTunes location, but is missing, it will create a new empty library.
You can open an alternate library file, or create a new one, by holding down shift as you start iTunes. Although you can open the library files in the Previous iTunes Libraries folder this way, your library will perform better if you restore the archived library database to the main iTunes folder in the way that I have described.
Your most recent library may be present in the main iTunes folder as a .tmp file, or recoverable via a file undelete tool, however either of these files, if found, may be partially corrupt getting you no further forward.
The two most recent releases of iTunes were June 11th and March 28th 2012..
Yes I read your post, but I don't know if you know all of the above. If you had a full backup of your library you could just restore that. It is possible that what you've tried so far hasn't yet brought back the most complete version of your library that is available to you. As a last resort you will have to work with what you have and add in whatever media is not in that version of your library, accepting the loss of recently added ratings, playlists & play counts.
You can simply add the entire iTunes Media folder using File > Add Folder to Library folder which should ignore everything already in the library and only add new (to that database) stuff. If there is any chance that your iTunes media folder contains .m3u playlist files the import process will also import all of those, which may not be what you want. iTunes Folder Watch would then present a better approach.

I did a reinstall of my OS but am not able to get my iTunes library back in iTunes. The library was on my external drive so it's still there. Everything is in there, including my apps. I did find a, iTunes library file, but it's not accessible by itunes, it's grayed out. I did a complete update of all my programs thourgh the software update. How do I get iTunes back to normal again?

Did you update the version of itunes back to what it was before you reinstalled the OS? The OS discs will have an older version.

Mac fails to reeboot after Safari update install -How to recover

I installed an update for Safari following which My Mac fails to reboot.
I am running the latest version of Lion on a mini, Intel dual core 2.0GHz 4 GB RAM.

Downgrading the SP and consecutively the BIOS, server is online again.
Download SP and BIOS Firmware from Sun Fire X4150 & X4250 Software Supplemental 2.2.2, at Sunfire x4150 server downloads page, and, downgrade the 3.0.3.30 SP/BIOS to 2.2.2 version.
I really hope that an future version of 3.0 Tools and Drivers DVD makes Sunfire x4150 works fine.

Folder disappeared after update!! How to recover it?

Today i was prompted to update Mountain Lion to10.8.1 and after downloading it, my system was going to restart but Mail "crashed" and my Macbook Air didn't restarted (I waited for several minutes), I needed to go there and press restart. After that buggy update a folder with important files disappeared, there are aliases of the files that were in that folder in "All My Files" but they don't find the original files. Did that happened to someone too ? There is something I can do or I lost all files in that folder ?
