After replacing my SSD iTunes match is no longer accessible.

I have subscribed to itunes Match last Nov.  My SSD failed and I had to replace it.  Now when I try to access itunes Match it goes to the new subscriber screen where the only choices are to subscribe again for $25 or "No thanks".  iCloud still works with my iPad, so my User ID is still working.  This is under the latest version of Lion on a MacPro.

Hi there scott bfromsylvania!

The fix was to completely remove all Apple Software following guides in previous posts.
Then download and re-install latest iTunes 64-bit, making sure to Run As Administrator.
This fixed it. Now the next thing seems to be that as I move from one device to another to close and restart iTunes between each one. Treat it gently. It seems to break easily and a lot.

  • ITunes Match will no longer let me add my PC... Help?

iTunes Match will no longer let me add my PC.  As it is, about 50% of the time that I have opened iTunes for the last year, I've gotten an error stating that iTunes Match has encountered an error and I would need to re-login.  This is on my main PC, the one with all of my music stored on the HDD. So, everytime, I sign out and re-sign in, and iTunes match takes a good bit of time and comes back on line.  Today, it asked me to sign in again, and it told me that I can't add my PC because I have too many devices on the account.  Right now, aside from this desktop PC, I have my work PC and my MacBook Pro. I had an old work PC, but I was careful to de-authorize before losing that computer.  Thus, I don't have many computers on the iTunes match account.  I *do* have a lot of iOS devices that I use with iTunes match, but I've had those for a while.  Is this the issue or is there something else?
    Thanks!

  • An older style Ipod has over 10,000 songs on it.  The original computer that contained these songs on itunes has since been replaced.  Can itunes/match get the songs from this ipod to store in match and then put on new computer/itunes?

Can this new service of itunes/match allow you to retrieve songs from an older style ipod, store them in match, and then download them onto a new computer/itunes?  The original computer that contained these songs has since been replaced b/c it broke down.  There were alot of songs on there and now I can't get the songs onto my new computer.  Can match work from ipod > match > computer?

Only if it is an iPod touch that you can turn on iTunes Match.
The original computer that contained these songs has since been replaced b/c it broke down.
Did you make a backup of all the  important files on this computer before it broke down?
    Try this -> http://www.yamipod.com/main/modules/home/
Then backup your computer after you recover the items.

  • ITunes 10.5.3 freezes shortly after start-up (culprit= iTunes match?)

    Hi,
I'm running an early 2011 macbook pro (OS X 10.7.2, 2.3GHz quad core i7, 8GB RAM). iTunes has started freezing up and becoming non-responsive shortly after opening. It takes between 30 seconds and ~5 minutes, irrespective of what I'm doing in iTunes.
I think this may have started after purchasing an iTunes match subscription, but I'm not entirely sure the two are linked. If I stop the iTunes match process, iTunes will still freeze up.
Is anybody else experiencing this problem? I've seen a few unanswered posts similar to this.
When will 10.5.4 be released, and will it solve this issue? Is there an easy way to return to an earlier version of iTunes without having to add everything to my library all over again, and do any earlier versions have iTunes match support?
It would be really nice to be able to actually use iTunes again.
EDIT: if I'm playing music through iTunes when it freezes up, it will continue playing until the end of the track. The next track doesn't play though.
    Thanks,
    Dylan

It's possible. The technician also indicated to me that 10.5.3 was the most recent version of iTunes. Could just be that the version you upgraded to is extremely buggy still.
Yes, lots of complaints and issues with 10.7.3 which may have brought this about on my early 2009 Mac Pro  which on it I have my system that has gone through an earlier mac pro, maccbook pro and iMac over past few years with out needing to do a clean install and then go back and update from time machine.  My 13 inch macbook air does not have problems but I do a lot less with it and do not use the itunes on it to sync my iOS devices which gave me the most problems on 10.5.3.
I have done the deed (remotely) and itunes seems ok and stable, but now we will see how syncing goes with my two ipads, and iphone.  Testing over next 24 hours will tell the tail. If this works then I will sit back a bit and see what the issues are with the 10.7.3 OS upgrade before reapplying on my Mac Pro.
Thanks for info, this may be what I have been waiting for.

  • After 5.1 update, iTunes Match disappeared

Hello. I just yesterday updated my Apple TV to 5.1. After the update completed, I noticed my iTunes Match (the orange Music icon) had disappeared. I thought it was odd since I still am subscribed to Match and had not turned it off. After checking the settings, I noticed it was toggled On yet the icon was nowhere to be found.
I tried toggling it on/off a couple of times, then when it didn't work I put the  TV to sleep. Today, I tried the toggling again and after no avail, I signed out of my iTunes store account and then signed right back in, toggled Match back on, and still no icon. Please help. I don't want to have to restore the Apple TV through iTunes and set it up all over again if I don't have to. Thanks.

My AppleTV was connected via ethernet port to time capsule.  It was not able to get iTunes Match working, nor was it able to connect to photstream.  I unplugged ethernet and connected the AppleTV via wifi to the same time capsule and was then able to get both iTunes Match running as well as connect to photostream.

  • After turning on iCloud/iTunes match, my playlist was duplicated 2000 times

Today I created a playlist on my iPhone 4 called "xmas." Now a few hours later this playlist has been duplicated more than 2,000 times -- it appears that way on my mac Mini, iPhone and iPad. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

Ok, i seem to have maybe fixed it after several hours of deleting the same playlist over and over again.  I will try to explain what i did..
    1.  Turned off Match on iPhone and iPad
    2.  Deleted 1000s of the Playlist in iTunes, but left one!
    3.  Put 2 songs in the 1 remaining problem playlist in iTunes on my Mac
(the 2 songs i chose were songs that were ON my iPhone already)
    4.  in iTunes I chose "Update iTunes Match" in the "Store" menu.
(let it finish, shouldnt take long)
    5.  Restart iTunes.
    6.  Turned on Match on iPhone
    7.  Created a playlist on iPhone with 1 song in it
(before it had a chance to populate any playlists from iCloud/Match)
    8.  Cold restarted iPhone
    (Home and Lock button restart)
    9.  Opened the Music app on iPhone and waited for the playlists to populate.
I am not sure how many of those steps are necessary, but it worked for me!  Well, on my iphone at least.  I am afraid to turn Match on for my iPad.  I will try that later.
Other notes:  The single song playlist i created prior to Match populating the iPhone vanished.  Also, i still seem to be having trouble with syncing my devices.  It just sits at "Waiting for sync to start" and fails eventually.
    Hope this helps somebody!!

  • Playlists missing from iOS device after signing out from iTunes Match

    Hi, everyone!
I've just signing up to iTunes Match service and after I went Settings > iTunes and App Stores menu and disabling iTunes Match, all of my iOS playlists synced from computer are missing, just the tracks I've wirely synced from my Mac computer are there.
Can anyone have a tip to solve this? I'm kind of disappointed with the service because musics in the cloud take long time to stream to my iOS.

I have found that scrolling through the album list (past albums without art) triggers the progress wheel next to the wifi symbol. You can scroll quickly through the whole collection and then wait! Artwork will appear gradually...
However, repeat visits to the Music App might initially show no artwork again, but it might spontaneously appear more quickly this time. The bad news is that the whole Music App is now sluggish as ****...

  • What happens if you rip a CD after signing up to iTunes match?

I am considering signing up for iTunes match as I listen to my music on multiple devices depending where I am.  I'm hoping this service makes it easier to manage those devices rather than wishing I had my latest tunes with me when they're at home on the Mac!
Often I buy imported CDs because iTunes won't let you buy tracks from the iTunes store in a country other than the one you signed up to.  So I end up ripping those CDs and syncing them to my devices.
Say for example I signup for iTunes match today and my library as it stands is part matched and part uploaded.  What will happen if in a month or so I rip a CD. I understand that if it's not available in my iTunes store then I won't get a match but will the track ripped after the initial upload of ripped tracks also upload and be able to be shared down to my other devices via iCloud?
Has anyone tried this, could someone who has done this please let me know how this situation will work.
    Thanks so much.

It will likely be "uploaded" to iCloud instead of matched, and thus still avaiilable your iTunes 10.5.x systems or iOS 5.x devices as an uploaded song/album.
However, you may find that some of the CD's actually match, believe it or not.   I have more than a handful of import CD's that do not show up in the US Store and some of those CD's have matched for me. YMMV of course.

  • Itunes Radio choppy or hard to play after upgrading to an itunes match account?

    Hello friends,
am seeking some help since I have no idea what might be causing the issue. I've been working on this during my freetime for quite a while, but I'm stumped. Hoping some of you can help me.
Basically, Itunes Radio (and my match songs for that matter) are having a hard time playing on my iPhone 5c, which has recently been updated to ios 8.1. The iphone is a 32GB phone and has plenty of space for apps and third party music players but it is not so great for a huge library. But, the main reason I upgraded to an itunes match account was because of the ability to play itunes radio without any commercials. Well, there's no commercials... but i'm also unable to play itunes radio on my iphone. It plays just fine on my Macbook Pro (2010), with an updated yosemite but whenever I try to play a radio or song from my itunes match library it goes for about 30s, then just...stops, goes 30s ... then stops. So basically, it SOUNDS like an internet connection issue.... but.... well, let me list the things i've already tried.
-- power cycle (slide to power off); same thing
-- hard restart (power + home button at the same time); same thing
-- updated the device; same thing
-- reset network settings; same thing
-- reset ALL settings; same thing
-- restored device to factory settings; same thing
    -- different wifi; same thing
-- using cellular data; same thing (lasts longer, though...interestingly enough).
-- turning itunes match on/off; same thing
-- deleting & syncing itunes match; same thing.
-- restore device & set up as new; same thing (worked for about 2 songs).
-- changed all songs to AACC format; same thing
(same thing = same symptoms, in case you didn't catch that. ;-) )
I am out of ideas at this point. Anybody want to throw anything at me? I'm seriously willing to try ANYTHING that doesn't require me to wait.
Should note that I use comcast as my internet provider, we have several internet boosters in the house (hence multiple wifi.... my father needs wifi for work so we have a backup plan for the back up plan) and I have recently gotten in contact with comcast for an unrelated netflix issue.

Hi, i had the same problem and tried this,
Somehow iTunes is tied to Safari. Try this:
Someone mentioned to clear all website data and history in safari, stupid but it was either this or the below that fixed it
    or this,
    Disable Wi-Fi Networking Services
Many users have reported that they’ve solved their issues by disabling Wi-Fi Networking under Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services. This only relates to your location being used for Wi-Fi Networking, so it doesn’t disable Wi-Fi entirely.
Please let me know if it works.

  • ITunes Radio not working properly after signing up for iTunes Match

I've been a user of iTunes Radio for some time now, and I've enjoyed it with minimal technical issues - until I signed up for iTunes Match. I'm not sure if it's simply coincidence, or if my subscription is causing issues.
The problem is that when I click on a station, whether it be a Featured Station or one of My Stations, it acts like it will play, but the time bar never comes up below the song title. Instead of showing the status bar when a song is playing, indicating the time lapsed/remaining, it shows a solid blue bar all the way across with no time.
I use Radio on my MacBook Pro (2009) and I also AirPlay my music to two Bose SoundTouch 20 speaker systems. I'm on the latest version of iTunes, my Bose systems are updated with the latest software, and I've never had an issue with this before. I can play songs I own or ones that I want to preview in the iTunes Store just fine through all of my speaker systems. What's interesting is that my NPR station in Radio works fine, though that one doesn't allow for AirPlay.
I'm also having identical issues from my iPhone 5s. Though I can only play to one AirPlay device at a time from my iPhone, the symptoms are otherwise the same. Downloaded songs play fine; iTunes Radio freaks out and gives the "Station Temporarily Unavailable" message. Except it's not temporary, unless you consider two months of this irritation temporary...
Here's what I've tried so far:
Logging out of iTunes, restarting and logging back in.
    Resetting my Bose AirPlay speakers.
Turning off the Bose SoundTouch App and Music Server App on my computer.
Disconnecting my Bose AirPlay speakers from power altogether.
Restarting computer and resetting iTunes Cache and Warnings.
None of those attempts at fixing this issue has resolved anything. I'm at a bit of a loss for help here, and I really don't want to start uninstalling and reinstalling programs if it can be avoided. If there's a way to unsubscribe from iTunes Match, I'd want to try that first as that seemed to be when things started becoming non-responsive. If Apple provides a way to fix iTunes or the iTunes Match service without charging me a $29 support fee, I think that would be great, but I haven't seen one.
Anyone encounter this before? Anyone at Apple listening? I'd greatly appreciate any help.

Try it in Cellular as a quick test. Mi had lots of troubles and isolated the issue to Cox communications. May be an ISP issue.

  • My iTunes Match songs no longer show up in Songs, Albums or Artists after updating iTunes

I updated iTunes today on my 2nd computer (PC) and now when I go to Songs, Artists or Albums I only see what music files i have saved on this computer.  I no longer see the songs that I have through iTunes Match.  The only way I can see and play (stream) songs that I haven't saved on this computer is by going to Playlists and picking a song from there, however I don't have all of my music saved to a specific playlist.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Are you still signed into match?

  • Lost most of my music after installing and using iTunes Match.  Help!

I hope somebody can help me.  I purchased a MacBook Air off of a previous owner, and heard that iTunes Match was a good way to access all your music without having to use up hard disk space to actually store it locally.
So, I subsribed to iTunes Match and things seemed to be working OK for a couple weeks.
At some point, I noticed that I couldn't see some of my favorite music in my iTunes library anymore.  Upon searching further, most of my favorite music seems to have disappeared.
Kinda ******.  I assume something got fowled up somewhere, and would appreciate some wisdom to help me access my music again.
Thanks to anyone who's got the skills to help...
    Cheers,
    m

For the initial scan, match and upload process to work the music in the iTunes library must physically be on the HDD. When you purchases the service where was the music, and where is it now? What is the source for the music?

  • I have mulitple copies appearing on my ipad after using icloud and itunes match, how do I get only 1 copy to appear?

I am new to the Ipad, I just got the Ipad with retina display in and only have a 16gb memory. I wanted to use Icloud for my music and other items, but when I started using Icloud and Itunes match, my Ipad has up to 3 of the same song listed on the song list. and will repeat when I am listening to my music. I was wondering how I can get those multiple copies go away to just 1.

  • After the cloud and iTunes Match, Can I access all my music in airplane mode?

Seems like Apple hasn't been very clear about this. So now all my music is being stored in the cloud. That should allow me to free up space on my phone...but if I turn on airplane mode, what would be left on my phone if I delete my music locally? If I can't delete the music locally on my phone, what's the point of storing it in the cloud? just backup?

Of course the music in the cloud which has not been downloaded to your iDevice can't be accessed while airplane mode is active. However, all music that has been previously downloaded to your iDevice can be played.
iTunes Match is not designed to be a streaming service. When you listen to music it is downloaded to your iDevice.

Upgraded to 5.0.1 and now all of my songs are grayed out and cannot be played on my phone. No idea why, but you would think after a 2 hour upgrade process that wouldn't be a problem. Is this how Apple defines a high-quality user experience? I was ver
