After Restoring My Ipod Touch....

I plugged my Ipod Touch into my mac laptop, and it said I had to restore my Ipod, so I clicked restore, it took around half an hour, when I came back I unlockd my Ipod and EVERYTHING was gone, my contacts, apps, music and things like that, it had completely reset it, and I didn't know about that, 3/4 of those things were paid for...

Plug iPod into computer and Control-Click on iPod icon in left frame of iTunes. Then select Restore from Backup.

  • After restoring my ipod touch to factory settings, can we recover old apps and songs

We forgot the password to the iPod touch, when we went to restore the iPod to factory setting, it told us after it was complete that it would give us an options whether or not we wanted to apps/songs/contacts back. The problem is after the iPod got restored to factory settings, we never got the option to download the old stuff again.. Is there any way we can recover that or is it just gone?

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

I went through the whole back and restore process for my i-pod touch 3rd gen, but the wifi setting is still gray what do I do now?

If restoring did not help, you more than likely have a hardware issue--like a bad logic board.

  • HT4972 previously used apps won't work after system restore?ipod touch 2nd gen.?

My son forgot his passcode so I had to restore his ipod touch, 2nd gen.  After the restore, many of his apps no longer work.  He had Netflix, Facebook, Angry Birds.  They now all say they require ios 4.3 or 5.0.  Does anyone know how to get these apps back on his ipod?  thanks!

Many developers when they updated their apps to support iOS 5 and 6 dropped compatibility for iOS 4.2.1 and earlier.
Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

After I restored an ipod touch, I pressed "set up as new" instead of "restore from backup"! Can I go back and restore the ipod from a previous backed up copie in time machine?

Are you sure it is 1043? I've never seen that error before. But you can try disabling your security software, connecting the phone to a USB port directly on the computer (not a hub), and trying to restore again.

  • HOw do I get my purchased music back after having to restore my Ipod touch

I had to restore my Ipod touch because of a corrupted file. How do I get my purchased music back?

The answer is that the iCloud advertising in Danish speaks of restoring apps, books and music and shows this, and in small print / gray print adds that in some countries this is not available. The Danish copy does not say that in Denmark the service is unavailable (suppose the English copy in US spelling showed the service, but did not say that the service was unavailable in the US).

After another couple of hours of hunting around, a Knowledge Base article in Danish turns up which begins by saying that purchases from the App Store, the iBookstore and the iTunes Store are restorable, but in small print / gray print advises which countries the service in fact covers. Denmark is not covered.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4539?viewlocale=da_DK
Naturally, the Danish copy should in both the advertising and in the additional information start by clarifying that music is not restorable for Danish customers. Instead, the Danish copy extolls a service that does not cover the iTunes Store in Denmark. The term for this in Danish is 'vildledende markedsføring' which is to say that the marketing is misleading.

  • How do you restore your ipod touch after an update

After updating my ipod touch with IOS 6, i am not able to get my ipod to get past a screen that says to pluc into itunes via a usb cable.  I plugged in and still have not been able to get past the screen.  I ran through ipod troubleshooting, made sure I updated itunes and can not determine why I it won't get past the above screen.  Thank you for any assistance.

  • I have just restored my ipod touch after being disabled.  Now it is asking for pasword, can I cancel this so I don't have to use a password?

I have just restored my ipod touch after being disabled. Now it is asking for the passcode?  I still cant remember the passcode.  How do I go past this?

You'll have connect in recovery mode and set it up "as new ipod" http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone and iPod touch software.
If the issue continues after updating and restoring your device, refer to this document.

  • Do I have to pay for the 3.1.3 update again if I restore my iPod touch?

I just recently purchased with an iTunes gift card the iPhone OS 3.1.3 for my iPod touch, and updated from 2.2.1 to 3.1.3. Now I have a question.
If a serious problem occurs on my iPod touch after the update, and I am forced to restore it, will I need to pay for the 3.1.3 software again? Would iTunes download 3.1.3 or 2.2.1 to restore my iPod touch after the update?

how do you RE- download or start the update!!! The memory of the COMPUTER was not large enough to complete the update so I stoped the update process to make room. BUT, Now I cannot re start the update process!! The download/update does not appear in the download library.
    SIMPLE instructions PLEASE

  • Cannot restore my iPod touch 3g "Software for this iPhone is not currently"

    Hello,
II have a big problem, I cannot restore my iPod touch.
I cannot get anything to show on the screen, it seems stuck in DFU mode. When I connect it to my pc, iTunes show this message "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes".
"Check for update" is grayed. Capacity/serial/Software show N/A.
iTunes detects it as an iPhone but it's an iPod touch.
    I tried 2 different computers.
I tried to download firmware and shift restore them, tried many, none work, telling it is not compatible.
When I click restore simply, it show this message "Software for this iPhone is not currently available".
I tried different ipod cable too, no luck.
The only way I can see something on the screen is with greenpoison (note that before this, I never tried nor wanted to jailbreak, but I tried a lot of things since 2 days including this, but no luck), so with green poison, I can get the iTunes + cable logo on the screen, but it won't restore either.
my iPod is just 1 year old, and 32gb, I'm rly frustrated and sad about all this :S, I tried lot of things, searched a lot, nothing work.
This happened when I came back from the gym, in my car, the iPod would not turn on, I tried again at home, and after some home/power, it turned on, I took a shower and when I came back, it was the same problem but since, it never turned on again.
Any help would be rly appreciated, thanks.

If its stuck in DFU mode, just hold the Power/Sleep button and the Home button until the device resets. If your unable to access the springboard, you might need to RECOVER your iPod Touch using the Recovery method, not DFU mode.

The iPhone and iPod Touch is very similar, except the iPod Touch doesn't have phone capabilities.

If you never Jailbroken, then why is greenpois0n installed? Did you buy this from a previous owner?
