I was running the newest version of Snow Leopard, and after running Software update, I can no longer run, open, sync or use iTunes in any way. PLEASE what happened?
I really regret that I said "OK" to Software Update message... after Software Update of these updates on 7-26-11:

Some have reported success simply by reinstalling the update.

I'd suggest starting with the simplest of these fixes, so look them over first.

After ios 7 update I can no longer iMessage

After the latest update I can no longer send an iMessage. I have about 6 messages that were undeliverable. I searched the Internet and found many others are having the same issues. I asked my granddaughter to iMessage me from her phone and she said it went as a text message which I didn't get because I've blocked texting.
I re-booted, reset my network settings as suggested and nothing has done any good. There were postings that Apple is aware of this issue and will do an update thru iTunes.
Does anyone here have any ideas as to why I can't iMessage or what I can try to get it to work again?

I decided I'm just too chicken. I went to the AT&T store this morning to see if they could help me but they said since it was an Apple problem, I should call an Apple Store. I did that and they said if I would come in they might be able to help me. But that would be driving across the bridge to St. Louis County which I will NOT do. Those highways are killers.
I've been seriously considering going with a prepaid plan because AT&T is getting to me. This was probably the final straw.
I really appreciate your time but guess I'll just pass. BTW, the Apple Store said they had NO idea when Apple would update the software to fix this problem since only about 1% suffered this problem. My children had no problems at all. So strange.
I did do the hard re-boot and disabled my Network setting and also IMessaging to no avail.

Had the same issue with my Nissan Rogue 2011.
This listed below will fix it...
Go to General > Restrictions > CarPlay -- Make sure Carplay is DISABLED. (The new IOS 8 enables this on default)
Go to General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
The Nissan Rogue radio system was never designed to work with CarPlay. By default, CarPlay feature comes enabled when you install IOS 8. Suckz, right?

Quit Mail and restart.
Select each of your mailboxes and select Rebuild under the Mailboxes menu.
If those don't help, then reinstall Yosemite:
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks or Yosemite without erasing drive
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu.

After my software update, my calendar no longer syncs w my PC

After my recent update to IOS6, my calendar no longer syncs with my PC, yet my iPod touch is fine.

Make sure you are running the latest version of iCloud control panel for Windows (ver. 4) by running Apple Software Update and installing any available updates. If you install an update, restart your PC, then try calendar syncing again.
If that wasn't the issue, try force-closing the calendar app on your iPad (double-tap the home button, swipe up on the calendar app, tap the home button again), then reset your iPad (hold the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release). After it restarts, try adding a new calendar event and see if it appears on your PC now.
If not, try going to Settings>iCloud on your iPad, tap Sign Out, choose Delete from My iPad and provide your password when prompted (your data will still be in iCloud). Then reset your iPad again and test calendar syncing.

I downloaded and tried EasyFind. It works but it took 30+ seconds to complete finding 3 files that are on One of my Five 25+ Gb partitions of my 130 Gb Seagate Cuda(Really 160 Gb, but my Sawtooth will only recognize 130) I figured that if I ever got a better box, I could reformat it to see the whole 160 Gb. So, as far as I can see, Spotlight's indexing scheme which finds the files instantly is probably preferable. Spot light allows you to rename your files from within it's app window. I've always thought that was pretty powerful. Could my doing so be causing me any issues? As i said it is the inability to Type in the Finder that seemed to be caused from changing file Extentions that were mis-written. Maybe it was a delayed reaction to my renaming files in the Spotlight app? I've done both on occasion.
As for these .DS_Store files. Apparently you can NOT stop them from being written to any folder that you touch/open/view during a days session. But, as a function of the OS, are the essential to have in their respective folders Forever? I've looked at the .DS_Store terminator app briefly and assume that getting rid of these files won't hurt the regular operation of my OS. They will just be re-written if I ever have to go back to any particular folder again. But, apparently, some have said that if the plan on burning a CD or DVD of their data, they delete the .DS_Store files first and then do the burn.
I'm thinking from your having suggested this tremination app that you suspect that my having all of these ,DS_Store files could be a situation where any of them could have become corrupted and terminating them regularly should be part of my regular maintenance.
Does that sound like I'm understanding what I can do?
