After Server update, Wiki Calendar is disabled...

Hello everyone.
I'm trying to use the Calendar page in the Wiki service after updating to Lion,
but the check box is disabled !!
In the server App, the iCal server is running.
Access with iPhone on iCal service form that server is working.
Wiki Page is running just fine, blog page too.
This service was OK with Snow Leopard!
Any idea what I'm missing ?
Thanks!

    Hi Kirbs13,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  Your calendar should automatically update if you're using iCloud.  If it is not, see this article for troubleshooting steps:

  • Is it possible to subscribe to Server Group Wiki Calendar with the iPhone?

I would like to subscribe to Group Wiki Calendar with an iPhone, but I am not having much luck.
The Group Wiki is on our on Snow Leopard Mini Server. I have successfully subscribed to the calendar with iCal on client computers and the calendar updates correctly on the LAN. The calendar also updates correctly when the client computer is on a WAN (off site).
I would now like to subscribe to the calendar so employees iPhones automatically update changes made to the Wiki Group Calendar.
I have taken the URL from the Info window of the subscribed calendar in iCal and used it in the setup of a Subscription Account on the iPhone, but it consistently fails to verify the user account.
I have tried many variations of the URL based on forum readings, but still no success.
Does anyone know if it is possible to subscribe to a Group Wiki using the iPhone and, if so, what is the correct URL statement to get the iPhone to see the Wiki calendar?
    Thank you in advance.

I tried several versions of this:
    http://hostname.domainname.com:8008/principals/wikis/wikiname
    https://hostname.domainname.com:8443/principals/wikis/wikiname
and after the "Wiki Server Update 1.0" by Apple...
    http://hostname.domainname.com:8008/principals/uids/wiki-wikiname
    https://hostname.domainname.com:8443/principals/uids/wiki-wikiname
    None of them work.
I am running SLS 10.6.4 with the Wiki Server Update 1.0. Wiki calendars from the web and in iCal.
iPhone 4 with iOS 4.0 & iPod touch with iOS 3.1.3 trying to connect over WiFi.
1 How is everyone else connecting their iPhones to SLS services?
2 Anyone using the "Mobile Access" or another Mac proxy server?
3 What about VPN from iPhone to SLS for these services?
4 What Firewall/NAT settings between the world and your SLS do you use?

  • My IPad will not respond to my pass code after I updated.  iTunes says 'disable find my ipad'  before I can restore from backup.

My IPad will not respond to my pass code after I updated from ITunes.  ITunes says I must disable ''find my ipad'' in order to restore. I cannot get to that because my pass code is locked.
I only have one back up & that is the one I did when I updated.  (Can't remember if it was before or after)

iTunes wants you to disable find my iPad because Apple wants to make sure you are not trying to restore someone else's iPad.
To turn off find my iPad, you need to enter your Apple ID password.

  • SSL error after server updated certificate?

    I posted about this elsewhere:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=449770&tstart=0
but the basic problem is that my imap server updated its certificate (the old one expired) and now I cannot read email at all from Mail. I can definitely still read email from other apps (e.g. Evolution on Linux), but Mail.app seems permanently hosed.
When I click on the little !-inside-triangle-inside-circle I get a message that says:
The server error encountered was: An SSL error occurred while trying to read data from the server. How can I find out more about what's going wrong and more importantly, how to fix it!?
    Powermac Dual 2.7 G5   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Actually, I was referring to the next subject in the Help list:
    (I'm quoting)
Importing a personal certificate to use with Mail
Mail can encrypt email messages using the Secure Multipurpose Internet Mail Extension (S/MIME) standard for sending and receiving encrypted mail, verifying the sender's identity, and ensuring the message hasn't been tampered with.
You need a personal certificate to be able to sign and encrypt email messages. Certificates are issued by certification authorities, such as Thawte and VeriSign. The personal certificate may also be called a "secure email signing certificate," "digital certificate," "Certificate Authority key," "private key," "digital ID," "secure certificate," or a ".p12 file."
To get a certificate, first go to the certification authority's website, and create an account. Then request a certificate. You may need to pay for the certificate service. You can use Safari 1.2 or later to download certificates.
Certificates are stored in Keychain Access on your computer.
    To import a personal certificate:
Double-click the certificate file you receive from the certification authority. Keychain Access opens and imports the certificate.
For Keychain Access to recognize a certificate file, it must have a file extension that indicates it contains certificates. Some examples of file extensions are .cer, .crt, .p12, and .p7c.
If Keychain Access does not import the certificate, drag the file onto the Keychain Access application icon, located in Applications/Utilities.
If you still can't import a certificate into Keychain Access, the certificate may have expired or the certificate may not be valid. Check with the certification authority.
You need a certificate for each of your email addresses. If you want to use the certificate on another computer, find and copy the original certificate you downloaded from the certification authority and move it to the other computer. Double-click the certificate file to open Keychain Access and import the certificate to that computer.

  • Calendar broken after server update to 3.2.1

After updating our system Version to OS X 10.9.5 and out server version to 3.2.1 the calendar service is not working anymore.
The wiki group calendar which all clients are subscribed to is still working, but the personal calendars of the principals and the sync with iPhones and MacBooks is not, and i am not able to figure out what's the matter.
I found a similar question here:

  • Hi, after last update, my calendar disappeared, what am I supposed to do?

    Hello,
There is no Calendar in Mozilla Thunderbird anymore. I confirmed last updates of this mail client and the calendar suddenly disappeared. I have had very important events in it. Please, help me.
P.S. the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+C doesn't help at all.
    Thank you in advance!

Good to hear. Never skip the step to check for updates to your add ons when Thunderbird updates. As you have found, if Thunderbird and Lightning are not in sync the events will not display. Thankfully they are still there and will once again appear when you get a matching pair of software.

  • Outlook 2010 Basic Authentication Fails after Server Update

It appears that since updating our 2 DCs (Win 03 Enterprise SP2) with windows update released this week (March 10 - fully patched before), Outlook
users using Basic Authentication all failed to connect to our Ex 03 SP2 server.
Domain users connecting using NTLM has no problem.  Our Ex server has also been updated ..
Can anyone suggest how to trouble shoot?  Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
How did those server use Basic Authentication Set-up? Was there any difference between Domain Users and users who use basic authentication?
Meanwhile we can start checking below items:
Ping your Exchange server address/DNS from the client machine which using basic authentication, see if the Exchange server was pingable.
NSlookup Exchange server address/DNS from the client machine which using basic authentication, see if the address/DNS of the Exchange server could be resolved from client.
Collecting Outlook log from client machine which using basic authentication, default location is: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Temp\outlook logging\<user email account>-<user>.ost.log
    at current date time.
Send the log though mail to: [email protected]
Let me know the result about 1 and 2 here or along with mail. Thanks.

  • Calendar Error 500 after Maverick Server Update

Any idea to solve the problem?
    best regards

    Hi,
    Check /var/log/caldavd/error.log
You should find some Python tracebacks indicating which code path was running when the error happened. Each traceback is composed of multiple lines between the word Traceback and an empty line. It's likely that there's a small number of unique tracebacks being printed over and over, so you only need to reply with one instance of each traceback.

  • After Server 4.1 update, Time Machine backups are huge

    Hi,
After updating to Server 4.1, every one of my Time Machine backups for the machine (Late 2012 iMac) running OS X Server (which is backed up to a USB connected drive) is between 3GB and 7GB.  When a backup finishes, I can immediately force a manual backup and it's >= 3GB.
Using the timedog utility, I narrowed the problem down to the OS X Server install, the largest file being:
    /Library/Server/Wiki/Logs/postgres-xpg.log
Every 10 seconds, an entry similar to the following is added to this file:
    2015-04-16 23:04:31 XPG.5941:  matched path for pg_receivexlog file: /Library/Server/Wiki/Database.xpg/backup/000000010000006300000035.partial
This particular log file is around 3GB in size.  It appears to have every log entry since I installed OS X Server December 2013.  I find it odd this is happening in the Wiki directory as the Wiki service is disabled.  I am using the following services:
    Caching
    Calendar
    Contacts
    File Sharing
Time Machine (for my Macbook backups)
I went into Time Machine (on the iMac) and deleted all the backups for /Library/Server/Wiki and that freed up 160GB.  I could just exclude that from backups, but I don't want to do that.  I would like to know why these entries keep getting put into that log and also why, if those entries are appropriate, the log is not rotated.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks, Patrick

    Hi Patrick,
That particular log-file has had an issue for some time now.
Even when the wiki is not loaded the wiki proces generates errors which keeps on filling this log.
Exclude it from the backup simply solves your backup issue.
However there are some suggestions for "fixing" this enormous log around in the Apple Support Community.
I don't worry too much about it anymore, but you can generate a new file and throw out the old for instance.
As long as you have enough storage you're fine.
Some usefull steps for a fix are mentioned here:

  • Can no longer use mail or calendar after OS update!

    Hello,
After recently updating my iPod touch to OS 3.1.2 I am no longer able to use my school/work email or calendar. I get an error message that says: "Policy Requirement: The account '[email address]' requires encryption which is not supported on this iPod."
This was never a problem before I updated the OS. I have restarted, restored etc. all multiple times and still to no avail. I can't seem to get back to the previous OS, either! This is a major problem for me because the calendar was one of the main things I used my iPod for... I don't even have a single song on it! Any suggestions or help are greatly appreciated...

    Hi Sara
Straight answer is that Apple ‘messed’ up the security on the iTouch version you have such the software OS spoofed security settings back to your Exchange server so it thought the device was actually encrypted when actually the device was incapable. When Apple issued the update you applied, it changed that and the OS no longer fooled the Exchange server, meaning the server refuses to sync, unless your mail admin removes the device encryption policy on the server (Very unlikely if like me you work for a large corporate!). At this point Apple also launched the new 3G iTouch for both 32GB and 64GB, these (just like the iPhone 3GS) do physically support device encryption so are the only versions which will allow you to do what you managed to do by error on your device before. As you’d expect there was quite a lot of up roar on the internet as they overnight killed email for all older iTouch and more importantly all iPhone and iPhone 3G users.
In my case, my 32GB 2G iTouch was only 2 months old when this update came out and broke my Mail and Calendar sync. Having discovered this was Apple's issue, i.e. claiming they supported something when they didn't really! (And because this was a specific feature I'd had asked during the sales process when buying the iTouch in the Apple store), I managed to take it back for a swap as it no longer did what they said it would (also benefited from upgrading to the 64GB version i.e. paid the price diff as the 64BG launched at almost the same price as the 32GB was 2 months prior... very annoying and again, something I specifically asked the sales guy to confirm if a newer device was coming as I’d wait!). Anyway.. my suggestion to you depending on how old it is... go tell them this feature is specifically why you brought the iTouch in the first place... and now they 'Apple' broke that specific feature.. it’s no longer fit for purpose... Worked for me... (Eventually – being quite loud and insistent in store !)
As a result - my faith in Apple - fully Restored!

  • Calendar is not synching after ios5 update

I use the iphone configuration utility to transfer settings to blank/new iphones (i'm an administrator) and this is how I apply our calendar settings including server paths etc to synchronise the calendar over the internet. Since updating to ios5 this has not worked and, in most cases, the calendar has just gone. Reinstalling the settings has not helped and it still refuses tow ork, if it makes a difference we are currently using SOGo as the calendar server program.

I need help? I can not add my music to my iphone after iOS update?

  • Lost Wiki calendars after upgrade to 10.6.4

    Hi,
After upgrade my clients to 10.6.4 we are not be able to connect to our Wiki calendars using iCal client.
    The original path was:
    /principals/wikis/WIKI-NAME/
But now it says the client is not able to connect to:
    /principals/_uids_/8a8be0fd-f969-5760-bef6-a73ad4ae3aa1/
If we recreate the subscription, the first time iCal is able to access to the calendar data, using the original path, but after close and restart the client, it modifies the path and uses the new path value (/principals/_uids_/8a8be0fd-f969-5760-bef6-a73ad4ae3aa1/)
In the caldavd error log says:
[AMP,client] [twistedcaldav.directory.principal#error] No principal found for UID: 8a8be0fd-f969-5760-bef6-a73ad4ae3aa1
We do not have this kind of problems with our Leopard (10.5.8) iCal clients or using the web page.
Thanks in advance for any help.

A followup from my post here: http://discussions.apple.com/messageview.jspa?messageID=11686666&stqc=true
Looking at server debug error logs in Info mode, it appears that when querying for the group's HEX UID, the server does the following process:
    - Creates a wiki record for the GUID in Memcache; the correct data appears to be passed from the wiki entry
    - Checks state of GUID, fails to find it
    - Removes memcache data
    - Returns "Not Found" to the client
Anyone know why the Twisted is failing to successfully create the Memcache entry?
