In your mail list, do you see the word 'edit'? If you choose that then you can select whatever mails you want gone and delete them at once.

Ask Apple to re-enable it. I had an unauthorized purchase last October. They disabled my account until the problem was solved. However, I asked them to reopen it, and they just asked me to provide some security information (billing address, a recent purchase you made, etc.), and then they re-enabled it.

All I can suggest is that you open that file on the MBA and save it as a new file, then see if you can open the new one on the iMac.

I can't seem to delete an email without opening it, and I'm worried about malware and all that. How do I delete an email without it getting opened? I've tried selecting it with another message and then deleting the group, but it still opens. Tuttle's tip of putting your arrow icon in the middle of a message and dragging to the trash is a good one.
If your concern is that selecting an email will trigger hidden tags in html messages giving the sender the opportunity to see if you clicked on their email then your point is valid.
Apple Mail defaults to loading remote images in HTML based email. You can turn this setting off by going to the menubar and choosing Mail > Preferences. Chose the Viewing option and turn off "Display remote images in HTML messages."
Now when you delete a message it won't matter if you selected it or not.

Can I delete a specific emails without opening the 'Mail' program? A company sent me an email saying I must log in to a certain web site. I don't want to do this, and want to instead delete this message. I did manage to move it to the TRASH so I can again use Mail. But if I attempt to open TRASH to delete everything, I get this pop up window that puts me in a loop.

What you need to do to avoid reading messages that have these types of popups embedded is go to Mail > Preferences > Viewing and uncheck "Display remote images in HTML messages"; and change the configuration of your Mail window so that selecting a message does not open it in the viewing pane automatically.
To do this, open Mail, look for the horizontal bar with the dot in the middle running across the right side of the mail window and double-click it to move it to the bottom of the window. From then on, as long as that bar is positioned there, you will need to double-click a Mail message to open it, so you can delete any message without opening it or reading it.

Guest Network reappeared after firmware update- Can't delete it.

I'm running a wireless network from my 1 TB TimeCapsule, with Firmware 7.6.3, which was updated today. I'm not sure the firmware version previously. Before a move to a new state, I'd previously run a guest network. When I got new internet service here after the move, the telephone company supplied a wireless modem, on which I turned off its wireless mode, and shared its internet to the Time Capsule via ethernet (on the TC: Connection Sharing = off - Bridge Mode). And Airport Utility no longer let me have the ability to set up a guest network.
I came to understand that is typical, and actually was persuaded this was better (not splitting bandwidth, etc) per this discussion and others: https://discussions.apple.com/message/18673654#18673654.
Now, today, after this firmware update, suddenly my previous guest network has reappeared, with the same security key that I'd programmed into it in another state. However, I'm not able to do anything about it!! There's no access to it via Airport Utility! I think I'd like to turn off the guest network. But I'm intrigued by the possibility of having the ability to turn it on again.
Any ideas?

it looks like this firmware was to support a higher version of Airport Utility (6.1), explicitly with extended guest network support. I'm guessing my problem, with an older version of Airport Utility, is one of those unexpected collateral damage issues. A way to go back in firmware is mentioned on the 2nd page of that thread:

About downgrading the firmware. On Airport Utility v5.6 it is simple. I am at the moment on 2 Snow leopard computers.
In the menu of the utility, choose "load Firmware..." thats all. It seems only to know the previous used firmwares. I skipped 7.6.2 and that is also not available. Also, on my newer Snow leopard computer I only can choose between 7.6.1 and 7.6.3, while on my other Snow leopard computer I also can in addition choose 7.6 and 7.5.2 versions. Apparently they are stored in the libraries of the local computer.
There is an other option to load other firmware, but than you get a dialog were to look for it.
Would you recommend this?

Can't delete email from webmail

I am not an internet guru. The new webmail interface is extremely difficult to use. Before you could delete email without opening it. I have 428 messages in my box. 400 are junk that need to be deleted. It takes at least 10 seconds to open a message and another 10 seconds to delete it. I am using my Verizon wireless signal which makes opening email slower. Why can't I mark a message and then delete it? The new interface makes the message open when you mark it. There has to be an easier way to manage email. Any help greatly appreciated.

Thank you. That is what I believed should happen before. If you keep clicking the boxes fast enough, your solution works. But if you click just one box it opens the email. Speed is the answer. Now I will mark everything quickly then go back and unmark the good emails.

Basically all I'm trying to do is to build an app for multiple users in one company. Each employer (user) is stored in collection with their password and email address. To get access to man screen of the app, employee must login in login screen. Chose his
name and type the password. I want to add a button for forgotten password so in case one of the employee would forget his password he can click on the button and receive on his email his password. The email what he will get would be for example from
[email protected] with mail body : your password is 12345.
So is that what you meant I can do with WADL generator?

Can't delete email since updating to 10.5.3

Since I updated my OSX to 10.5.3 three days ago, I can't delete email messages in Mail. I get the following error message "The destination mailbox “(null)” does not allow messages to be moved to it."
I've rebuilt mailboxes, deleted trash mailboxes, rebooted,etc,etc, to no avail. Anyone else experiencing this? Does this have something to do with the update?

With this last report, along with the first, it would appear that Mail may have taken the account Offline during the time .mac was down, and it is still Offline. This is not the same as being connected to the internet, but related to the account only. Is there any symbol beside the mailboxes associated with this .mac account?
If you have more than one account, click on Mailbox in the menubar and place the cursor on Online Status -- for the .mac account is Take "the account name" Online presented, or only Offline? If you have only the one account, the the first entry in the pull down with either say Take Account Online or Offline.
Although with a .mac account (setup as account type .mac/IMAP) the Inbox and messages reside on the server, the index in Mail has the list of messages -- just not the content.
Btw, you say the last Update -- if your OSX is 10.5.3, then please change your settings in the discussions Profile.

On an iMac why can't you delete an email without opening it?

Why can't I delete an email without opening it first? Is this not a security risk as I have always been advised that, if I don't know who the email is from, I should delete it so as to avoid opening any suspect attachments that open immediately.
This is my first Mac so could it be that I have not realised how to do this?
My wife can do this on her iPad.

A couple of points:
1. Your concern is not really an issue with macs. More of a PC thing. "Suspect attachments" are extremely, extremely rare for a mac. I mean, like one since 1984, when I bought my first mac. The reason is that Apple seems to be on top of things and keeps updating mac software to protect your mac from this sort of thing. Just keep up with the system updates and you won't have a problem. Microsoft, on the other hand, makes tons of security holes in their software because of their mindset, i.e., that the consumer is a moron and the enemy.
2. In my mail.app, there are three columns in the message viewer, the first which lists the mailboxes, the second which lists the emails, and the third which is a preview window. I can select an email in the second column and delete it without opening it, so I don't see what the problem is that you're having.

It's very easy to do - open up the music app, find the song/artist/album you want to delete and then swipe on it right to left and press 'delete'. Once you have done this it will take up no more space on your device whether it's in the cloud or not.
If the song is still appearing in the music app with a little cloud next to it then you can stop it from showing by going into settings, music, and turning off 'show all music'. Note that this will remove ALL songs from the music app that have the cloud next to it (the cloud means they are in the cloud, online, but not stored on the device) and if you want to play them you will have to open itunes and redownload it, or change this setting back to on.

can't delete email with a 9 mb attachment from iphone(3gs, software v 4.3.1) -- every time i try to delete the email with a swipe it shows the red delete button on the right but then freezes for a while and then the delete button disappears but the email does not. when i go through edit function and mark it for deletion, the same thing occurs.
