After setup, can't connect to iCloud

iPhone 6plus using current update to OS8.  Can't connect to iCloud Account.  Defaults back to iCloud setup instructions.  Same on iPad

I had the same problem and resolved it by turning on Bluetooth - see if that works for you.

  • This Airport Extreme base station can't connect to iCloud

I have a Airport Extreme base station (model A1408) running firmware 7.6.4.
In troubleshooting a Back to My Mac issue, I noticed that the configuration page for the base station had a yellow dot next to my apple id in the "Back to My Mac" section of the "Base Station" tab, with words underneath that say, "This Airport Extreme base station can't connect to iCloud".
When I delete the id and re-enter it, the dot goes green and no errors are generated (the id/password tokens are accepted). Then, I push "Update", and after the base station comes back, the light is yellow again. (To be clear, the dot next to the apple id is yellow, not the base station status light, which is always green.)
I'm connected to Xfinity Cable Internet service via a Motorola SB6141.
Everything iCloud related works for my various iOS and MacOS devices except Back to My Mac.
Can anyone point me to a solution? I've already been through Apple's troubleshooting and support docs related to Back to My Mac.
    Thanks in advance!

    NEVER MIND!
After reverting to the old LinkSys router, I left the AEBS powered up all night. This morning, I tried once again and the AEBS mysteriously started working with my laptop after reconnecting and power-cycling the cable modem. Go figure!
Unfortunately, the iMac in another room doesn't seem to be able to join the new network, but I'll close this thread and perhaps open a new one after doing some more trouble-shooting.
Thanks for your comments and suggestions.

  • How Does one fix this-"This Mac can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with "My Email Address"

Hello Apple Community:  I receive this message multiple times a day.
"This Mac can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with "My Email Address"  Open iCloud preferences to fix this problem.
After sighing into iCloud I can not find a problem.
Is this a Yosemite issue, because thats when the issue started?
    Thanks for your help..

Yes, this is a constant problem for me as well.  I have 2 Macs (iMac and old MacBook Pro) running Yosemite. I seem to only get this message on the iMac. I've tried logging out of ICloud on both and logging back in; the problem re-appears randomly.  I also have no issue on IOS devices.
It's mainly annoying. I open the iCloud panel in System Preferences and it tends to go away.

  • I have just downloaded OSX Mavericks and am having a lot of problems with my iCloud account. I get a message "this iMac can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with (and then it quoted my e-mail address) Does anybody know what the problem could be??

As mentioned above I have just downloaded OSX Maverick to my iMac. I am now having a lot of problems with iCloud. I get the message that "This iMac can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with, and then it goes on to quote my e-mail address. It then says to open iCloud preferences to fix this problem.
I do this and no matter what I seem to do this message continues to return.
Can anybody explain how to resolve this problem (please bear in mind that I am noy very computer literate).
    Many thanks
    Mike

    Hello John
Sorry I haven't got back to you sooner.
Thanks very much for your help, your solution solved my problem.
    Thanks again and kind regards
    Mike

  • Ever since i forgot my apple id password and changed to a new one, I am continually being asked to enter my iCloud password. It then says that this mac can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with "my username". nothing I do in in preferences helps.

You have to sign out completely in System Preference>iCloud (click 'Sign out') on a Mac, or Settings>iCloud on an iOS device (click 'Delete account' - this will not delete the account from the server). Then sign in with the new password.
Your iCloud data will disappear from your Mac or device when you sign out but will reappear when you sign back in.

  • I can not connect to iCloud from safari

I suddenly can not connect to iCloud.com from safari.  I have no issues with chrome, firefox etc.  Is there a setting that is blocking this site?

    Hi ..
Might be a cookies, cache, or extensions issue.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
    Click:   Remove All Website Data
    Then delete the cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that doesn't help, troubleshoot Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

  • I Can't connect to ICloud Server on my PC but can with my IPhone

For several days I can't connect to ICloud on my PC. Error message says there is a problem connecting to the server. Any ideas?

Same problem and they aren't responding

  • This Mac can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with my email address Open iCloud preferences to fix this problem"

I keep getting this message over and over and over.
This Mac can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with <my email address>
Open iCloud preferences to fix this problem"
I go to IC Preferences but there is nothing I can fix there that is relative.
My outbox is no longer working in MAIL so I cannot email out. I have to use my wife's MBP to send emails.
I can get emails. I didn't change anything in m,ail preferences, so what is Apple doing to me?

I also have had this problem and see no resolution - signed out of my account and signed in again, did not get any resolution to the problem. done this twice. Is Apple addressing this? I thought that 10.10.1 would resolve this but found to my dismay that there has been no resolution. Each time I log out of iCloud and then sign in again, there is a time lag before all my files in iCloud become accessible so have stopped trying this remedy. I also have issues with iTunes where am asked for my password 4 times before I can log in. Would like to know if there is anything in the pipeline to remedy/rectify this problem. Issues with bad internet connectivity have improved but are still there. Wish Apple would spend some more time in testing and resolving issues before releasing new software.

  • This Mac can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with "your Apple ID", Open iCloud preferences to fix this problem.

I am using Yosemite on (iMac 21.5 inch mid 2011).
My question is:- Periodically when closing down Safari and only the application Safari i get the message:-
This Mac can’t connect to iCloud because of a problem with “my Apple ID”, Open iCloud preferences to fix this problem.
I don't understand this because there is no problem with "my Apple ID" and if there is what should I do when opening iCloud preferences to fix the problem.
Would appreciate some positive answer to stop this message from appearing and to resolve this problem.
    Cheers Bruce.

I do not use the Safari browser, and I also get this error message. I also have not updated to Yosemite.  I am able to log into iCloud using my Apple ID and password, so I know that there is no issue with my login credentials.  However, so far I have not been able to determine what is causing this message.

  • After upgrading unable to connect to icloud

After upgrading my iPhone 4S 16GB I could not connect into iCloud? how can I solve that? my whole contacts in that? please someone help me

The same thing is happening here with my 16 GB wifi only iPad 2, and this is my first update in perhaps a year. The IOS7 update makes it to "Updating iCloud settings..." and goes no further.  After a while the install fails (I guess) and I have to start over.  Always ends the same way, black screen, nothing happening.  Start over, same result.  BTW I DO NOT USE iCLOUD ANYWAY
    Apple please help!

  • Can not connect to iCloud in settings, help please.

I clicked on iCloud and I get a "Verification Failed" message, that says "The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be "setup.icloud.com" which could put your confidential information at risk." I can't connect to Facebook or the App Store either. Any help would be awesome. Also I keep getting a "Software Update Unavailable" message when trying to install the new update.

My wifes Iphone 4 with the new 8.xx upgrade on 11/24/14 created an App Store and Icloud issue where the error msg was also "I clicked on iCloud and I get a "Verification Failed" message, that says "The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be "setup.icloud.com" which could put your confidential information at risk."    By change the settings Settings>General>Date & Time>Set Automatically>On.  i was then able to log into both stores and gain back functionality.    Never used Apple products before.......man.......this is some crazy non-sense sh$t.

  • IPhone5 iOS 8: Can not connect to iCloud

    1) I updated to iOS8 lately and it first worked fine. But 24h later suddenly my contacts, calender and notes were gone. This problem is due I can't log into my iCloud trough settings. When I open it: Verification failed, error connecting to iCloud.
    2) Every time I open the settings app it crash immediatly for no reason. The only way to open it is in airplane mode. This also happened 24h after installing iOS8.
Now 6 days after the problems began I tried first to: reset all settings but that doesn't work. I also tried to restore my phone but still the same problems.
    Any more ideas?
    iPhone5, iOS8

    Hello brenden,
First thank you for responding to my issue.
Then, my problems are partly solved. I managed to get mij contacts, notes, calenders from iCloud by simply adding my iCloud mail again under the 'mail' butten in settings.
But the settings app still crash when I open it in normal mode. It does work when I am in airplane mode. After I opende The app in airplane mode I turn in my WiFi and Carrier. Now when I open iCloud in the settings app I get like 10 times the error: verification failed, but sometimes for a reason I can enter my iCloud password but then again the settings app crash itself back to home screen.
Should I wait till Apple bring out an update or do you have an other idea?
    thanks for helping,
    Mangel

  • IPhoto can not connect to iCloud

    OS X: 10.9.5
    iPhoto version 9.5.1
My iPhoto works very well before I chose to connect to iCloud to download/share my photos.
Once I chose the option connect to iCloud, my iPhoto worked extremly slow, even a dying status. Then I can't chose any options through iPhoto.
I must force to close the iPhoto option in iCloud setting.
I have tried to rebuild or repair my library, it still  didn't work.
I have enough hard disk space for my iPhoto running.
I have delete the file "com.apple.iphoto.plist" and restart iPhoto, it didn't work.
So, now, I can use iPhoto  to view and edit my photos, but not connecting to iCloud to share my photos with my iPhone.
Hope anyone can help. Thank you!
