After signing with e-signature acrobat creates an additional file starting with aa

I open a file and place a signature on the document. After placing the signature, and locking the file on save, it overwrites the existing file fine, however it creates an additional file in the folder and the files start with aa.  example: aab03284  (No file extension is attached)

I have also had this issue - and it just randomly started happening, along the same time the request to do EchoSign disappeared (not sure if they are related).  I'll save as over top the existing file, and it asks if I want to do that, I hit 'yes' and it then creates a temporary file instead of saving it over the existing.  I have to then go back in, 'save as' again, say that I want to do that again, and then it finally saves over it correctly.

  • How do I show files starting with a "." in my Mac?

    Hello fellow Apple users, I have a problem here. Care for a bit of help?
    I am using: OS X Mavericks Version 10.9.4, Macbook-Pro With Retina Display 13'', bought in mid 2014.
    I seem to have a problem with revealing hidden files on my Mac, as I am currently creating a modification for a game called "Minecraft" using Eclipse. Every time I try to open my project, it says that the .project file for the project is missing, how do I solve this?
    Is there a way to make files starting with a "." appear, and to applications as well? (And yes, I know how you can do "defaults write blah blah blah...' in the Terminal, but it still won't just work for Eclipse, even if it works for us.
    Thanks in advance,
    Alex Ni

    Revealing hidden files and getting that error are 2 completely different thing. Even though you can't see hidden files in a finder window doesn't mean they are inaccessible to programs and the OS. They are just hidden from view to the user.

  • Files starting with period on samba share

    Hi,
    Is there any way to prevent the creation of files starting with a period on a samba share? I have seen the terminal command that prevents creation of the "ds_store" files, but what i'm concerned about is the creation of the hidden .htm files and such that are created all the time on this samba share.

    Yes, "*defaults write com.apple.desktopservices DSDontWriteNetworkStores true*" prevents the Mac to create .DS_Store files in network shares, globally.
    But I don't see what you are talking about with hidden .htm files created all the time, I do not have such problems. Maybe some web site editor do create temp files this way, but it is the way it works, I don't think it is a good idea to prevent that.
    You still have the "veto files" option in Samba server configuration to prevent file patterns to be used, but I won't guarantee all applications needing access to hidden files will continue to work.

  • Read files starting with TEST* (for example)

    Hi all,
    Is it possible to read all the files starting with TEST for example from the Unix folder.
    Requirement is there will be files starting with TEST present in the default path x.
    I need to read all the files starting with TEST from this path. So, basically in the selection screen, can I put the default filename as TEST*.
    All these files will have POs(Purchase Orders) which the program needs to update accordingly.

  • Is it Possible to create a Report Name starting with M.

    HI ,
        Just Now I have created a report naming with MYreport. I have expected that system will ask the Access Key since starting letter is M . But  System allowed me to create the Report MYREPORT.
        As per My Knowledge, Only Y and Z letters for Report. But now how system allowed me to create a report starting With M without access key.
    With Regards,
    Neptune.M

    Hi,
    You can name a program with 'MZ' or 'MY'. Infact all the includes of custom module program will be having names starting with 'MZ' or 'MY'.  Try creating a program with other than these combination, the system will surely check.
    Addendum:
    For example if you create a module pool program with name
    SAPMZTEST, then the include names will be
    MZTEST_TOP, MZTEST_O01, MZTEST_I01, MZTEST_F01 and so on..
    Similarly, for Z function group sap creates dynamically creates the following programs:
    SAPLZTEST - Main program
    LZTESTTOP
    LZTESTO01
    LZTESTI01
    LZTESTUXX where X containing includes LZTESTU01,LZTESTU02 stands for 01, 02 and corresponds to function module under the function group.

  • How to create a DN that starts with cn instead of uid

    I installed the new version of the directory server 5.0 and converted all dn's. All my DN's starts with the cn, but we I now enter new entries using the iPlanet console they all start with uid again. How can I configure the console so that when I enter a new entry, his dn starts with the cn instead of with the dn.
    THX

    I had the same problem. To fix it, I performed the following steps:
    * Open the Directory Server
    * Select the Directory tab
    * Select NetscapeRoot
    * Select the domain
    * Select Global Preferences
    * Select Common from the right-hand panel
    * Change nsuniqueattribute and nsuserrdncomponent from uid to cn
    * Save the changes
    * Logout of Console
    * Re-start the Directory Server and the Administration Server
    This worked for me.
    As a note, when you look at the Advanced properties before you complete adding the user, uid will still be shown as the RDN. Ignore this. After you complete adding the user, view the Advanced properties again. The RDN will use cn.
    Hope this helps.

  • Select a Folder/File starting with a Space via Keyboard

    I have just upgraded to Snow Leopard and I am having problems selecting a folder/file that starts with a space in the finder and in open/save. The problem is that it activates QuickView. In Leopard (10.5) you could override QuickView (in the Finder) by pressing the Option Key and the space bar at the same time and then pressing the next letter in the folder name. This action now open QuickView in Fullscreen mode. I have tried other key combos without success.
    Thanks for any help.

    I have tried other key combos without success.
    OS X Help has this to say about that:
    -=-=-=-
    Creating keyboard shortcuts for applications
    You can assign your own keyboard shortcuts to menu commands in any Mac OS X application or in the Finder. This may be useful if, for example, one of the “global” shortcuts, which works the same in most applications, is used by one application for a different purpose. In this case, you can assign it a different key combination.
    You can create keyboard shortcuts only for existing menu commands. You can’t define keyboard shortcuts for general purpose tasks such as opening an application or switching between applications.
    To create a keyboard shortcut for an application:
    Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click Keyboard.
    Click Keyboard Shortcuts, and then click the Add button.
    Choose an application from the Application pop-up menu. If you want to set the same key combination for a menu command that appears in many applications, choose All Applications.
    If the application you want to select does not appear in the list, choose Other and locate the application using the Open dialog. Some applications may not allow you to set keyboard shortcuts.
    Type the menu command for which you want to set a keyboard shortcut in the Menu Title field.
    You must type the command exactly as it appears in the application menu, including ellipses and any other punctuation. An ellipsis is a special character that looks like three periods. To type an ellipsis, press Option-semicolon, or use the Character Viewer. It may be difficult to know whether the command is written in the menu with a real ellipsis or with three periods, so if one does not work, try the other.
    Click in the Keyboard Shortcut field and press the key combination that you want to assign to the menu command, and then click Add.
    You cannot use each type of key (for example, a letter key) more than once in a key combination.
    Quit the application for which you added or changed a keyboard shortcut.
    Restart the application to see the keyboard shortcut in the application’s menu.
    If you assign a keyboard shortcut that already exists for another command or another application, your new shortcut won’t work. Find the menu command that’s using it and reassign the keyboard shortcut for that item.
    To remove a customized shortcut, click the Delete (–) button.

  • Hidden files starting with colon not showing in finder--how to delete?

    Was playing around with an AppleScript to generate vcards and initially didn't get the path name right. The result (oops) is that a whole batch of vcard files were written into the MacintoshHD-level directory.
    The file names start with colons. I can't see them in the Finder, but I can see them in Terminal:
    xxx-xxx-computer:/ xxxx$ ls
    :Users:xxxx:Desktop:AddressBookVcards:xxxxx.vcf
    :Users:xxxx:Desktop:AddressBookVcards:xxxxx2.vcf
    (and so on, followed by the normal directory names you'd see in the Finder)
    Is there any way to get this list of hidden file names in the finder so I can delete them easily with drag and drop? Any other suggestions? Thanks.
    MacBook Pro 15"/2.16Ghz/2GB RAM   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Hi RKNYC,
       This is a subtle issue. The path separator is the character that delimits directory names in the path. As Camelot said, the path separator is never a valid filename character. The complexity comes in the fact that OS X has two ways of specifying a path, each with a different path separator. The classic OS use a colon as a path separator but UNIX components use a forward slash as a path separator.
       Instead of eliminating both characters as valid filename characters, Apple made an interesting choice that really is the only way to eliminate just one character. If you put a forward slash in a filename in a carbon app, it will be allowed because carbon apps use classic paths internally so only a colon is disallowed. However, if you list the same file with a UNIX tool, you couldn't see a forward slash because that would be illegal. Instead, you see a colon in the place of the slash. There's an illegal character and the other one and if you put the other in a filename, it will change depending on context.
       What happened to you is almost certainly the opposite of my example above. AppleScript can handle both contexts but the syntax for UNIX paths is tricky. What you probably did was use a UNIX path in a classic context. AppleScript took you to mean that you wanted a file at the top level of the drive that has a very long filename with lots of slashes in it. That is, your slashes were taken as filename characters: the other character. Then when you listed it in a UNIX context, those slashes turned to colons.
       In order to get AppleScript to understand UNIX paths — to treat a forward slash as a delimiter — you have to specify the path as a POSIX path, like so:
    Posix file "/var" as alias
    That acts as a handle to a file, which you can create if it doesn't already exist. An alias doesn't have to exist while a file does.
       There's one thing I don't understand: why the files would be invisible. I hate that AppleShowAllFiles option. I've got a lot of UNIX apps that store their preference files as hidden files (filenames beginning with a period) at the top level of my home directory. I couldn't find a thing if I had to sift through all of that. However, your filenames don't begin with a period and I just checked; on my machine, filenames beginning with a colon are shown in the Finder — they just begin with a slash. (the Finder is a Carbon app)

  • Get additional file attachements with file adapter

    Hello,
    Has anyone ever had the following situation:
    A Sender interface sends a little bit of data to XI.
    This data contains the filenames of some files on a FTP server.
    Based on these filename the file needs to be retreived from a FTP server and further handled as an attachement of the XI message?
    Is it possible to trigger a sender file adapter with a variable directory and filename from XI, in a BPM or Mapping?
    Warm Regards,
    Leon Boeijen

    hi,
    >>>>Is it possible to trigger a sender file adapter with a variable directory and filename from XI, in a BPM or Mapping?
    no it's not possible to start a file adapter from BPM
    you can use a java proxy that will do the trick
    we've used a solution like this many times with no big issues
    remember that it's better to use an async java proxy
    (with correlation) then a sync one...
