After some upgrades on my Satellite P200 cannot use HD-DVD Player

Since I upgraded my PC Satellite P200 (BIOS, Driver ATI HD2600, Package VAP and HD-DVD Player), I can no longer read my HD-DVDs
Error message is: "Unable to send the video to an external device. Please turn off the display device."
I had no problem before the upgrades.
I have no problem with my DVD player on medias.
What happens?
My drive is a HDDVD SD-L802B.

I installed on my PC (P200-1DE / PSPB6E / OS Vista) proposed TEMPO software.
This software referred me to the site Toshiba and proposed several updates to:
- The BIOS (2008)
- HD2600 Drivers ATI card (2008)
- HD DVD Player
- VAP Package
At this time, I try to find the references on the site, but I am surprised ; they are no longer in the "Downloads & Drivers BIOS site TOSHIBA
I downloaded the drivers on my PC.
I can give you the exact references tonight (I write on another PC).
Were there any problems in the proposed updates on the period of November 2007 to the end of February 2008 ...
Besides, the problem of reading the HD DVD, I have not noticed any major problems except perhaps:
- I start a bit slower (It seems to me that this is the connection to the Internet via WiFi, which slowed the start)
- an error when burning a CD
- a problem of installing software as the DVD no longer wanted to stop rotating; I had to stop and to do again PC installation
Do I go back? ...
I made a Ghost of my machine before these updates, but if it is a problem of BIOS, I think I will not be able to do

Anyway, in my opinion there is some software conflict. I can imagine both players use same modules or plug-ins and there is conflict.
I dont know what solution can be but maybe you should remove both players, restart your notebook and make clean BD player in hope it will works properly.

can it be something related to wi-fi? I have read other posts talking about loss of connection using wifi. Only one variant of the PowerMac G4 could use the faster Airport Extreme Card. The rest used the original Airport card that is pretty slow.

There are USB solutions also. However, all PowerMac G4 towers had only slower USB 1.1 ports, so any USB wireless adaptor can only run at about wireless 'B" speeds (slow) unless you also install a PCI USB 2.0 adaptor card. If you haven't already, go to your Applications folder>System Preferences>"Sound">click on the center tab labelled "Output">highlight your external Bose Speakers in the list by clicking on it>turn up the Volume slider at the bottom of the window. Hopefully that solves your problem.

Cannot get my dvd player to work now after several attempts of finally upgrading to Windows 8.1.

Now I cannot get the computer to accept the antivirus software and cannot get the dvd player to even work when loading the cd that I purchased for this. Please help!

Yes I did remove the old antivirus software. Yes. It was Norton originally. Then purchased Trend Micro Titanium 2013. Removed that as well. No the driver does not show up in "this PC" The reason being is after I first encountered this problem I looked for several solutions, one of which suggested uninstalling that driver. That is what I did. Unfortunately, before I could get to the next step of the so-called solution, it was not an option on my pc. And yes, the disk does spin up and seem to run, but of course nothing comes up.
By the way, I have HP 2000 Notebook PC; 64-bit; Vision AMD; Windows 8 (originally installed). If you need anymore info, please let me know and thank you for your quick response thus far.

Without proper system information and other details nobody can tell you anything. If the program shuts down after a while then presumably it fails to verify your activation, so refer to this:

Satellite P200 cannot burn DVD

Hi all.
Hope someone can help amongst all of you knowledgeable individuals!!
My problem is the DVD re-writer on my P200 17-C PSPB6E
I cant seem to re-write a DVD!
A while back I had to reinstall windows as I used a bad mcafee security suite software disc that messed up my whole notebook.
Since I reinstalled windows vista 32-bit I have not been able to burn any DVDs.
Im not far off a novice at computing so Im not sure whats going on!!
Could it be the re-writers driver?
If so how do i find the right driver?
Any help would be hugely appreciated as im trying to back up my DVD collection and Im getting no-where fast!

thats the funny thing,i get no error message or anything!.It seems to go through the whole burning process fine but when it comes to playback via my notebooks toshiba DVD player or my Toshiba HD DVD player connected to my TV it just says that the disc is not DVD FORMAT!! but it is.
Have tried Verbatim,maxell,TDK,sony,panasonic discs all with the same result.
Maybe it has something to do with my burning software which is NERO 8 or DVD SHRINK ?,ive uninstalled and re-installed these two bits of software severall times but still no joy.Just seems strange that it worked just fine before i had to re-install windows vista.
getting a touch frustrated with it now and any more ideas would be very welcome.

Satellite M30, cannot play my DVDs

Bought meself a brandnew M30 with one of those cool DVD-writers and now half my original movie DVDs refuse to play. I have not experienced any problems with my other DVDs, not even with those I burnt on another computer. Anybody has an idea?

Clock freezes after using Apple DVD Player

I am having a small and annoying issue with the Apple DVD Player (v 4.6.5). This just started happening recently. Everytime I run a DVD (or video TS file, etc) on the software player-it performs as usual. After quitting the application and choosing to eject the disc, I notice there is a longer lag from when I first used the computer, then the little colored wheel of death spins, and eventually Apple DVD Player closes.
The problem, however, is after the application is closed out, my time freezes in the status bar in the upper right hand corner of the screen. (As I write this it says 1:16 and the time in the apple "date and time" preferences panel of OSX says it's 2:14-which is the real time) If I drag the cursor up to the time status bar in the upper right hand corner, it turns into the spinning color wheel, and back again once dragged out.
Once the computer restarts, the time in the upper right goes back to normal with no spinning wheel (until I open Apple DVD Player and quit out of it again). I know this is not an earth-shattering issue, but it is fairly annoying and abnormal. If anyone has suggestions, please help.

It sounds like you found your answer but I also wanted to mention that this is a known BUG when using DVD Player and the Digital Optical Out of a G5. If you look at activity monitor when the Clock is dead and you get the Beach Ball the SystemUIServer will be listed as not responding. If you Force quit this process everything should start working again. As long as the LoginWindow Process is running the SystemUIServer will restart when needed after the force quit.
HOWEVER, The other part of this bug with Digital Optical Out is that sometimes the LoginWindow Process will also stop responding. In this case a Log-Out is the only way to correct the problem. The third part of this bug is sometimes the Finder also stops responding but a Relaunch will fix that.
As I said it sounds like you found your problem but I wanted to post this incase others out there using the Digital Optical Out read this and don't correct their problem.
Also, If you were using the "DOO" by deleting the .plist will set the DVD player back to SYSTEM falsely making one think the problem is fixed.
Last I know this is a known bug because I submitted it as a bug to Apple and received an e-mail stating they know of this problem already.

Digital noise in Logic after using Mac DVD player

I have Logic Pro 7.2, a dual 1.8 G5 with OS 10.4.7, 3GB of RAM, and loads of hard drive space. Every time I open a song in Logic after having watched a DVD using the Mac DVD player, all the instruments, both midi and audio instruments, just sound like static. If I trash all the Logic preferences and start over it clears it up but who wants to reset their preferences every time. Thanks, Steve.

Im not an ipad expert yet so maybe you will get answers from some that are. But since the iphone and ipad are both IOS, I think you can get the same apps plus you would have a bigger screen. I like to use imessage on my ipad and you can only do that on an iphone 4s or above.

Cannot connect to via wifi after some upgrade...

Basically, my drive's name was exactly 27 characters. I made it shorter and it seems to now work without issue under Lion. It is odd that it worked fine under SL, but this seems to fix the issue.
