You may want to see if there is an update for the ODBC driver of the database you are using. Many times, a crash is caused because of a problem with the driver. You may also want to search the NI website for more information (search for +SQL +Sybase for example, if you are using a Sybase database.)

snap158.gif 13 KBI believe that by your action, you removed the compatability VIs and it would appear that the Find Examples used the older queue functions that require the compatability VIs. I would suggest you revert back to the LLBs that were distributed with 6.1. The new queue functions are there for you to use in new development and older VIs won't be broken. You could also make a request to NI support to see about an updated Find Example that uses just the new VIs.

I have a G5 to sell and want to erase all my data from it, but the cd drive won't work so I can't use the OS10 start up disk. Any way to do it?
Do you have another Mac? If so, you can startup this one in "Target Disk Mode" (instructions here) and connect it to another Mac to delete the home folders (or the entire drive, if that's what you want).
One piece of advise, though: after deleting the data, and of course emptying the Trash, it wouldn't hurt to also securely erase the "free space" of the drive (instructions here) before disconnecting the old Mac from the new one. This can be helpful, since "deleted" data is often retrievable with ease unles it's written over after the deletion. -
I am using Illustrator CS5. I am using a certain font and when I make a selection to use one of the letter options or a glyph, it does not take my selection; in other words, nothing changes.
What font? What system? What Glyph? What language settings? Could be anything. Either way, ask in the AI forum. You'll get quicker answers there - if you provide all the required info.

Certain Numbers templets allow you to drag and drop contacts to populate cell data, how can I create that functionality in my own tables?
If you haven't come across the workarounds thread you may find helpful tips there on this and other ways to work with Numbers 3.
ronniefromcalifornia discovered how to bring contacts into Numbers 3. As described in this post:

So instead of drag and drop, just select in Contacts, copy, and paste into Numbers

I've got a G5, OS 10.5, and an IBook OS 10.4. Both can reach the internet wirelesly.
How can I make them aware of each other, so they can exchange files? Both have network
icons in the systems peferences, but I can't see how to hook them up.That got me closer, but I'm not quite there yet. On each ofthe two computers I've allowed all users File Sharing and Remote Management. Each computer has an address 192.168.1.2 (or 4). When I enter those addresses into "connect to server" the reponse is either 'drop box' or 'public folder'. So it seems that only very basic sharing is allowed. I have'nt set up a public folder on either one.

Here is what you should do turn the device on hold the home button and the power button until the device turn off keep holding and when the device reboots release the power button but hol the home button until it shows the iTunes logo then restore it

Can I wipe out newer OS on ibook G4 and restore with OS 9 or 8 or even 7 so that I can run the hundreds of Educational CDs we still have at our school? We do not need to go online or be wireless or install any newer programs.
Look on the outside of the case to see if it has a port with a symbol similar to a Y, or compare its specifications against those of the first two computers on this list.

I updated to the new software today and now in having several problems! Lost all my contacts. Anytime I try and back up to iCloud it says it can't be complete and now I get a cannot connect to store message. Help!
Something in your backup may be corrupt. Try wiping it and setting it up as a new device, then sync your apps, data and media back to it from iTunes. DO NOT resotre from your backup. If the problem is contained in the backup, it will bring it right back again if you restore.

I took some videos using my iPhone 5c and uploaded them to my computer. I can play the videos in iPhoto, but when I open them in QuickTime, they are dark and silent. Why can't I see them in QuickTime?
Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account. -

If you mean data from the iPhone itself, you can't back up anything from it now that it's no longer in your possession. If you didn't previously back up to iTunes or iCloud, then unless you are lucky enough to recover the iPhone intact, any data on it is lost.

Java starts itself under names "uaxzu" and "eihf". Nothing happens, I quit them and all is back to normal. What can be the cause?
I fear it might be some sort of a virus and since it's a mac it simply cannot do much and I can still use my system normally. But how can I make sure that it is absolutely safe and how can I get rid of it?

Synchronized my iPhone 3G 8G to copy the contacts and calendars from Outlook, I wonder if I can do the same synchronization to copy the same data from Gmail ?
Right, I finally managed to get it sorted out.
iCloud only accept version 3.0 vcards, and the one I was using were version 2.1 so that's why it wasn't picking it up. So the easy way to get that sorted out is, use a gmail account.
I know you don't wanna do it because you think it's too much hassle and stuff, but trust me it only takes 5 minutes and that's it.
1. Create a Gmail Account.
2. Export your Old VCard files to the Gmail Account.
3. Now Import them from Gmail to your PC again.
And, that's it, that's just makes the new imported version in 1 file contains your all contacts in version 3.0. Now you can just upload that on icloud and then sync it with your iphone.
That's what I did and it worked, and I am sure if you wanna replace this file in the Contacts folder under your User Account in Windows and then try to sync Contacts in Tunes, it should work, but as I said, I did it with iCloud and it worked for me. So aye, that's pretty much it. Phewwww..
Been searching for it for the whole day and it took 5 minutes in the end, badass...
Anyway, don't lose hope and always Google for everything!
