After the computer is awoken from Sleep...
After the computer is awoken from Sleep, Safari and Chrome cnnot find servers to access internet. Only happened since installig 10.9.2 - i have to reboot everyday!
What can I do to resolve not having to do this?
Is your Network Services Order set correctly...?
If you are connected to the Internet with an Ethernet cable, then Ethernet should be set first.
If you are connected to the Internet using Wi-Fi, then Wi-Fi should be set first.
Example: My Mac is connected to the Internet using an Ethernet connection.
If not, then click on the cog and correctly set your Service Order.

HP DM3 - Mouse Freeze's up when the computer wakes up from sleep mode.
Hi Guys,
I just had a DM3 with the 2.26 sp9300 intel chip built for me and every time the laptop goes to sleep and wakes up the mouse freezes up with a magnifying glass and its impossible for the mouse to do anything. I have to tab over to the task manager and tab down to the power button to restart my PC and than it works again. Anyone know whats going on? Driver problem? any updates yet?
Thanks !!
JonHello,
I picked up my DM3 from PCWorld last night and I'm having the same problem every time (4 times) when I've closed the lid and re-open it again. The magnifying glass appears and I can't move the pointer using the trackapd and have to restart the machine to gain control again.
Any word from HP on a solution?
thansk,

MacBook Pro won't stay asleep with external monitor attached. When sleep is selected from the Apple menu the computer will go to sleep only to continually wake up...go back to sleep...wake up...etc. every few seconds. This only happens when using the external monitor. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Mine does that too. The worst thing is when it goes to sleep, then wakes up and keeps running while the lid is closed and it is wrapped up in a case. I am afraid when the hot weather comes it is going to burn up. I am hoping Apple fixes it in the software or they may have a melted MBP to replace.
Then when I open the lid it is crashed running at fill tilt, pumping out heat to beat the band. I am forced to hold the button down and reboot.
I wiped my hard disk and reinstalled my OS, but it didn't help. I reversed my OS to 10.5.0 and it solved the DVI problem but still won't sleep. This post will probably be deleted by Apple, they did it a few days ago. I just don't know what to do, and I consider myself a real Apple expert. Just hoping you realize you are not the only one. -
Short flickering when the notebook wakes up from sleep mode MacBook Pro Late 2013
Hello everyone!
I have a question concerning the display of my new MacBook Pro with retina display (late 2013).
Sometimes when opening the lid when the notebook wakes up from sleep mode, the display is flickering for like two seconds. Then everything is normal again.
This specially occurs when the lid has been closed for a longer time. It makes no difference if the power adapter is plugged in or not.
Have you experienced a similar flickering with your MacBook Pro?
Thank you in advance!Hello!
I have the same problem with my late 2012 MacBook Pro Retina. The constant flickering after being awoken from sleep was a minor annoyance for me so I contacted Apple Support.
I shall explain what I have done thus far, and I recommend you follow the same steps as I did to tick off possible causes:
Firstly, I reset my PRAM (http://support.apple.com/kb/ph14222) and SMC (ttp://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964).
The issue still remained so I checked if the flickering occurred in a new user (if it does not then it points to your account having a setting which is causing the flickering - possibly third party). For me the flickering continued so I tested it in Safe Boot (which worked fine!).
I then ran (just to be certain) the Apple Hardware Test (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1509). All seemed to be OK. So I reinstalled OS X and still the issue remained.
It was then I had an Apple Support person 'screen share' with me and we went through certain folders. My GPU folder had an unusual amount of files so we trashed them and began a restart however this led to a bigger problem; my notebook wouldn't boot (not even in Safe Boot!), so be very weary at this stage, I'm not sure if this was a rare case or we deleted something we shouldn't have. I then had to go into recovery mode to get back to square one.
Back to the initial problem I reinstalled a 'clean' OS X version from recovery mode; this was to determine whether if the data is corrupted on my account or if it's something else; most likely hardware by now even if there was nothing that came up in the hardware test (it won't account for everything). I checked from both a backup of my data and then from a fresh user after reinstalling OS X and still the flickering continued.
It was then a Senior Apple Support person set up an appointment to have my MacBook looked at and possibly repaired (it could be a minor wire causing the problem).
That is the point I am at now, so for my case it seems like a minor hardware problem. If your case is as similar as mine I recommend making an appointment with them to run more sophisticated hardware tests that your own MacBook would not run.
I will comment again when my issue is completely resolved for those who come across this Discussion in the future.
Hope this helps! -
Thunderbolt ethernet not working when computer wake up from sleep.
thunderbolt ethernet not working when computer wake up from sleep.
it will not happen in Mountain loin.I had this problem on SL and on Lion as well, and it occures for WiFi and Ethernet connections.
In fact the internet connection was not broken as I could ping the destination usin the IP (not DNS name).
In this case the problem was related to mDNSResponder task which handles all dns queries.
It was the most frequent problem in my day to day work with SL and now Lion. It was never fixed by any patch from Apple. I tried almost all voodoo including fresh install, all possible config changes - no solution.
The only version with no problems related to network was 10.5.8. All the other versions had issues of different kind (WiFi instability (lost signal), DNS problems (for wireless and wired connection) sometimes associated with machine sleep and wake up and sometimes with no reason.
QUESTION: Is your problem independent of the access point / router you connect to.
I must say networking was (and still is) the weakest part, besides the other OS X weaknesses I experienced during 4 years of OS X usage.
No problems in the same network with Linux or Windows beeing ran natively on my iMac So hardware is OK.
Software is of poor quality. Not much more to say in this matter.
I found a very interesting article dated 1996 about programming which I think is still valid.
Link to the article: http://www.fastcompany.com/magazine/06/writestuff.html
Below the fragment (with some connection to Apple)
Software is everything. It also s***s.

Won't reconnect to network when awoken from sleep
What would cause my G5 to not be able to connect to my network when awoken from Sleep? The only way to resolve this is with a complete re-boot of the system - too much like a PC, IMHO.
The G5 will not automatically re-connect nor is it possible to connect manually by typing in the name of the network as well as the password. Again, only a re-boot of the G5 will allow me to re-connect. iBook G4 has never had a problem with this (which is on the same network).
Any ideas?

I've had others but this is the most recent. I ran the Nvidia scanner and loaded the video drivers it recommends (340.52). I've got two GeForce 8800GTX cards connected with SLI cable. I've tried turning SLI off as well. I also removed and re-seated the cards.
I also just replaced the RAM with another 4GB brand new from a supplier (240pin DDR2 DIMM UNBUFF.PC2 - 6400 CL6).
It crashed about once a day, totally randomly, sometimes when idle.
I zipped a copy of the DUMP file and MSINFO32 file to my OneDrive but I don't know if I need / how to share it (please advise if necessary).
I would be very grateful for a solution.
Regards
MarkOk, here is what I think. The MEMORY.DMP you provided was older and basically less helpful than what was recorded in the MSIinfo file. You are on the right track in your thinking that the crashes are related to
GeForce 8800GTX cards, so I am going to suggest an uninstall and "clean" reinstall of the current driver.
If no joy, try an older driver.
btw, apologies for the voluminous post...

Anyone who can help out here?
Thanks, RenseI analyzed the errors with BlueScreenViewer and noticed that the driver ntoskrnl.exe causes the server to reboot. A normal chkdsk or sfc /scannow couldn't find anything.
Using chkdsk /r /f gave me the following log:
Correcting errors in the Volume Bitmap.
Windows has made corrections to the file system.
So I can't check if this solved the problem, but I hope it did.

The NetherlandsHi,
Thanks for your posting.
It seems to be system crash issue and we need to analyze the crash dump file to narrow down the root cause of the issue. Unfortunately, it is not effective for us to debug the crash dump file here in the forum.

</Event>Unfortunately your post is off topic here, in the TechNet Site Feedback forum, because it is not Feedback about the TechNet Website or Subscription. This is a standard response I’ve written up in advance to help many people (thousands, really.)
who post their question in this forum in error, but please don’t ignore it. The links I share below I’ve collected to help you get right where you need to go with your issue.
For technical issues with Microsoft products that you would run into as an
end user of those products, one great source of info and help is
http://answers.microsoft.com, which has sections for Windows, Hotmail, Office, IE, and other products. Office related forums are also here:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/support/contact-us-FX103894077.aspx
For Technical issues with Microsoft products that you might have as an
IT professional (like technical installation issues, or other IT issues), you should head to the TechNet Discussion forums at
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-us, and search for your product name.
For issues with products you might have as a Developer (like how to talk to APIs, what version of software do what, or other developer issues), you should head to the MSDN discussion forums at
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-us, and search for your product or issue.
If you’re asking a question particularly about one of the Microsoft Dynamics products, a great place to start is here:
http://community.dynamics.com/
If you really think your issue is related to the subscription or the TechNet Website, and I screwed up, I apologize! Please repost your question to the discussion forum and include much more detail about your problem, that could include screenshots
of the issue (do not include subscription information or product keys in your screenshots!), and/or links to the problem you’re seeing.
If you really had no idea where to post this question but you still posted it here, you still shouldn’t have because we have a forum just for you! It’s called the Where is the forum for…? forum and it’s here:
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-us/whatforum/
Moving to off topic.

This was related to the NETwbw02.sys Intel® Wireless WiFi Link Driver from Intel Corporation. I would remove the current driver and install the newest driver available
If you continue to crash I would remove Kaspersky and use the built in defender.

I had the following issue on Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise. I want to know if it's relarted with a specific driver in orider to avoid this happend again.
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000007e (0xffffffff80000003, 0xfffff80001a8d016, 0xfffff880029eb788, 0xfffff880029eafe0). A dump was saved
in: C:WindowsMEMORY.DMP. Report Id: .
The dump is uploaded to the following skydrive link:
https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=FE2E04A1A3CB9D1D&id=FE2E04A1A3CB9D1D%21150
Please Could someone help me to know to witch is related?
Regards.
Juan.thanks a lot for the answer!
the expeption code of the bugcheck is the following:
0x80000002: STATUS_DATATYPE_MISALIGNMENT indicates an unaligned data reference was encountered
I'm checking the drivers...maybe is related with some drivers installed in the system.
Is there any way to check the dump and confirm to witch driver is related?
Regards.

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000050
I would like to know how to troubleshoot this issue.
I did the firmware/driver/patch updates for multiple Hyper-V cluster just before the Christmas break. We have all HP DL580 boxes. All went well however, in observed issues with two nodes on a cluster. These two servers are getting BSOD every seven days.
I am observing the pattern and happening almost same time every seven days.
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000050 (0xfffff8a1227fd6a4, 0x0000000000000000, 0xfffff88001e8587a, 0x0000000000000002). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 011614-56799-01.
I am contacting HP for support, however any tips will be appreciated !

My blog on Virtualization - InsideVirtualization.comHi Shabarinath,
Regarding to the BugCheck 0x50, please refer to the following articles. Then follow the resolution there and check if fix the issue.
Bug Check 0x50: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff559023(v=vs.85).aspx
Based on your description, those two servers get BSOD every seven days. Would you please check if BSOD occurred at same time-point (occurred at same hour every
seven days)?
Meanwhile, I can find that you have got the Dump files. So, please refer to the following KB and use the Windows Debugger (WinDbg.exe) tool to analyze those dump
files. It will help you to narrow down this issue.
How to read the small memory dump file that is created by Windows if a crash occurs
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315263/en-us
You also can upload those dump files to
SkyDrive,
then post the link here. We will be able to get dump files. Please note, the dump files that upload to SkyDrive will be public.
If this issues is a state of emergency for you. I suggest you should contact Microsoft Customer Service and Support (CSS) via telephone, so that a dedicated Support
Professional can assist with your request. Since, it is not effective for us to debug the crash dump file here in the forum. Thanks for your understanding.
To obtain the phone numbers for specific technology request, please refer to the web site listed below:

Hope this helps.
