After the last upgrade, my firefox will not open. Task manager says it is running, but I get nothing.

I finally allowed the last update to run... upon completion, my browser window would not open. I rebooted, got the window to open but had no function on the navigation bar. The only way I could navigate the web was to go to my home page, google, search for the web page and click on the results. Refresh also would not work. I did another reboot and now I'm back to no visual evidence of the browser window being open. It seems like every update for the past few months crashes my ability to utilize my add-ons and my ability to see video is almost always compromised. I try to ignore updates but the reminder keeps popping up so frequently it becomes a nusiance and I cave to the pressure!

    Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

    There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
    If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

    Hmmmm, http://www.seattlepi.com/ loads fine hear in 10.4.11, FF 3.6.8, but I do see it uses some kind of Flash.
    The last really supported Flash for PPC was 10.1.102.64, but if it's for like Facebook or such, people have been fooling FB to think they have a leter version installed.

    After reading several posts in the Support Forum I tried a solution. I deleted the "sessionstore-backups" folder.
    Please try this: click the menu button ≡ and then click help ? > troubleshooting information > profile folder - "show folder". Then a new window will open up. In this window look out for a folder named "sessionstore-backups", delete this folder and restart firefox afterwards.
    The problem was resolved.

This time it did not open. when I clicked on the icon again the blue screen opened and said something about a new installation and if this was the first time you have seen this screen restart your computer and try again.     A possible cause is the presence of a PDF plugin from an older Adobe Reader plugin in the plugins folder in the Firefox program folder.

    When trying to log onto Firefox to access the website, a message comes up stating 'Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system'.
    Having not located any other firefox on my computer I decided to delete the program from my computer and then download another copy. This I diod and my computer was back to normal accessing firefox. This morning I am experiencing the same problem again with firefox refusing to open whilst another firefox system is running.
    I would be gratefujl if you could help to overcome this problem so that I can use firefox as always have done so in the past.

    when i try to open iTunes, an error message pops up that says

    When I click OK, another message pops up saying

  • Firefox will not open some pdfs, says file is damaged, in other browsers no problem.

    The error message I get when choosing to open a PDF from a web page is; "There is an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired."
    I don't have this problem using Safari or PC Browsers.

  • Firefox will not open PDF files from my financial website, but IE will.

    When I try to open reports in Fidelity, UBS, etc, the file downloads, but removes the extension so it won't open and I get the message "Unknown file type". I tried the same procedure in IE, and the files open without problem. I do not want to use IE. How do I get the files to open. This is a recent (~5 days) problem.
