After two years w/o problems, T610 Synchronization Failed ...

For about two years, I've had no problem syncing my SE T610 with Address Book and iCal.
Yesterday, I synced with no problem.
Today, I've been trying to sync and continually get the message:
An unexpected exception occured while synchronizing the device. Device "T610" synchronization failed.
I repaired the permissions and reset the device. Nothing.
Here's what I see in console, but I have no idea what it means:

The easiest way to attempt a fix for your error condition is to launch iSync, open the Preferences… dialog and press the Reset Sync History… button.
Executing that process will not remove any data from your devices, servers or applications, but it will reintialize the truth database which is the central repository for data in the SyncServices framework, and will effectively force a first-time synchronization the next time you initiate an event.
To protect your data, you should use the built-in backup feature available under the File menu of both iCal and the Address Book to back up your calendaring, task and contact records before initiating that next 'first' synchronization event.

    Connection timed out to what?  Everything?  If so, then before wiping your disk, reinstalling, further deleting your keychain entries or other related activities, please check with your ISP and see if there's a network outage, or if you've exceeded some download quota.

    While none of us here can say with certainly, it's likely that iOS 5.1.1 is the last version of iOS that an iPad 1 will run.
    As to a "waste of money", has your iPad stopped working just because a new version of iOS was released that the iPad won't run? Our iPad 1s haven't just ceased fallen over, even though they can only run iOS 5.1.1, and are in valuable use every day. But perhaps yours did indeed somehow stop being useful. If so, I'd recommend selling it and buying something else that you think would better suit your expectations.

  • Disc crash after two years

    Hi,
    I purchased my macbook pro in July 2011 in New York. Last week (only two years) it crashed. I can turn it on but it will not start. I have been told that the disc has crashed and I have to pay 350 euros to get it repaired. (Authorized Apple Repair Centre).
    I am a bit concerned that after only two years it has crashed. I took very good care of it and never dropped it.
    Someone told me that there was a whole bunch of defective macbook pro been sold to the public, is it true?

    If this is a Classic style Mac vs a Retina model, it has a mechanical hard drive. Like anything else mechanical, it will eventually fail. Sometimes it's a lot longer than 2 years, sometimes a lot less.
    The good news is a new hard drive is pretty cheap and easy to install with a couple small screwdrivers. This drive is $75.

  • "Service Battery" after two years?

    I have a 09' Pro and the battery is already saying "Service Battery" and i am getting a max 4 hours out of the battery. I have calibrated and also taken good care of the battery by draining and charging it every week or so. I almost never let it sit on the charger for more than an hour or so after fully charged and have done several calibration methods to reverse this. I have read forums saying that Apple treats batteries as a "consumable item" so after a year they are not under warranty. I have 3 year applecare and am wondering if they would replace it since they brag and boast about having advanced batteries that last up to 5 years and hold their charge for up to 1000 charges.

    hi i havent had this computer in almost 2 years. it is the one that had ny itunes info ect. i am ready to download music and my account shows 93.465 in credit for purchases, but it is telling me my itunes gift card is expired.  i get that but how do i go about getting my credit or at least credits for purchases?

    The problem is twenty three people leaving or twenty three thousand leaving has zero impact on a carrier with over 100 million customers. And they have the lowest churn rate. So if 10,000 or 20,000 or more churn out it means little to the carrier.
    If you have a real lawyer he/she will advise you that you have no case. The device was not lost or stolen by the carrier, you were not eligible for a new device, and like any business who employs large numbers of poorly trained personnel who make low wages what was told to you is not in writing. So a verbal exchange does not hold up.
    In fact in Verizon's customer agreement it has such a disclaimer against any verbal exchanges so if you have that agreement in writing, go get them.
    The posting on public forums and places like Face Book, Linkin, Google+ or a personal web site can open you up to a lawsuit for Dilution of Trade Name, and other offences. However if you have proof then go for it.

  • Water damaged iphone 4, stopped working after two year , the water damage

    2 years ago my phone went for a wash in washing machine, I managed to dried it up and make it work , recently the display went off while using, after charging i could see it in itunes, it kept beeping every 15 second while plugged in for charging. Then i decide to open it romove the battery and put back on nowit has no life in it if i plugged it for charging or to pc it get hot quick but won't turn on, tried the home button , power button 10 second role but no luck
    ...all i need to know if I want to replace any parts what parts I should replace. as the phone is pretty good condition. now the question is wether it need lcd, battery or logic board changing?
    i would think as it was all working , either one of  there:
    battery, logic board and lcd (digitizer) might need changing?
    and it might work?

    We can't advise you on attempting to repair it yourself. Apple does not sell iPhone parts at all. The only sources for iPhone parts are:
    Stolen parts
    Counterfeit parts
    Salvaged parts
    Since you opened it yourself, Apple won't touch it now.  Find a competent 3rd party repair shop or buy a new phone.
    If you really want to try fixing it yourself, look to someplace like ifixit.com for advice.

    Hi, Where were you booted from to use Disk Utility? Sounds like it wasn't the Restore partition, & you erased the whole Drive instead of just the OSX partition!???
    You'll have to use the App Store, look for prchases, re-download 10.8 & install it in Target mode.

    After working perfectly for two years my iTouch has suddenly stopped connecting to my Hub although my desktop computer still connects.  I have tried everything I can think of, including suggestions off Google/You Tube but nothing makes any difference.  Any ideas.  Surely it is not fit for the scrap heap after two years, but is clearly no use as it is.

    Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
    Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
    Did the iOS device connect before?
    Try the following to rule out a software problem:                
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
    .- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network      
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:

    If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Two years of intermittent broadband faults

    After two years of intermitent faults countless calls to Bt, 3 engineer visits , all engineers agree i have intermittent fault. Today the engineer visited and said he thought he may have found a problem and said it would be all good, LOL NOW I HAVE NO PHONE LINE .
    TWENTY YEARS PLUS customer with Bt but will never recomend them again until i have somthing to recomend .

    OK, so this is a community forum, where we can all vent and propose our own suggestions to other BT customers with similar problems.
    Its quite funny how we are all technical support these days, often knowing a good deal more than the customer care people we are dealing with, but lacking any access to get the problems resolved.  Customer Care seems to be a barrier to that access, rather than the gateway.
    Anyway, my point is that when I had a plain 1Mbps Broadband Service, it was better than now.  Pages loaded a little slower, but it was RELIABLE.   Then WiFi got all complicated, and I struggle to get a strong signal just metres from my hub.  Simply walk to another room or round the corner and you lose 75% of the signal - it really seems to be line of sight these days.
    Now I have 5Mbps to the Hub - luxury, except that the uplink back to the exchange is slower than a dial-up modem at <100kbs.   I am lucky if I re-boot the hub to get 400kbps uplink, but then it drops every HOUR.
    This lack of reliability is worse than the slower link.
    I am awaiting an engineer to 'check my external wiring' which has not changed in 10 years.  This was after having the riot act read to me about being charged if they can somehow make it my fault instead.
    I had been having problems with the Hub2 being very poor and unable to handle Port Forwarding or DHCP tables, and it took 2 years to get a replacement Hub (v4).  Definitely quicker interface and smarter hub, but the link has been bouncing about all over the place for weeks now.
    On the plus side, the call to 150 on the phone got me to a real Customer Care person within a few minutes, and they stayed on the call and they escalated it.  First time for 5 years I think.  The uplink was SOO bad the online chat stood no chance.
    Lets see what happens.

  • My Two-year Pain with JDeveloper

    The problem I am about to describe has been around since JDeveloper 10g, and the problem is explained by Didier at “http://blogs.oracle.com/Didier/2006/11/22#a162”. The Visual Editor does not display the Trinidad and MyFaces or JSF components in the preview but rather in rectangle or outline view.
    Imagine spending a week over this very issue. I have read Didier, and Frank Nimphius (much older) solutions but nothing came out of it. It seems that even JDeveloper insiders don't know what the problem/solution is. As I alluded earlier, this problem is over two years old [since 10g]. I should know because, over the years I have abandoned JDeveloper thrice because of this problem. But I return due to amnesia and belief that SURELY, the JDeveloper team must have rectified the problem.
    I would like to ask JDevelper insiders as to why even after two years the problem still persist. And further, why no one has a STRAIGH-FORWARD ANSWER to the problem. If one can't figure out what is causing the problem, how could one solve the problem.
    I thought the problem originated in “web.xml.” but these few days, I am not sure anymore: I have two web projects, the WYSIWYG works fine in one but not the other. I tried using the good project's “web.xml” and “faces-config” in the bad project but to no avail. As I said, this problem is TWO YEARS or so old; does anyone know EXACTLY the cause(s) of the problem?

    note that Trinidad 1.2.6 requires JSF 1.2, which is added to JDeveloper 11 (as you use it). The default bundling of Trinidad is 1.2.4 and will be updated to a newer version with the next technology preview. I don't expect this Trinidad version to work in 10.1.3.
    I didn't try to configure Trinidad 1.2.6 in JDeveloper 11 TP3, but since the changes are only on the component level, you should be able to do this by swapping out the Trinidad libraries in JDeveloper 11
