After uninstalling CS4 my Adobe CC applications crash

Help!
After having my CC subscription for almost a year I decided it was finally time to get rid of CS4. So I uninstalled it which went swimmingly. But now...NONE of my other Adobe products work. As soon as you start them up...they crash. They load and then before I can file/open anything they stop working. (Running Win7)
Please don't tell me I need to uninstall EVERYTHING and reload it all. I have all my setting just where I want them and I REALLY don't want to have to reset all of that.
HELP!!!
Thanks
eric

GeekyWhiteGuydotcom what process did you use to remove your installation of Creative Suite 4?  Have you tried removing one of the Creative Cloud applications and reinstalling to see if it resolves the difficulties you are experiencing?

I still get plug in failure even after uninstall and reinstalled adobe flash to my mac os x 10.7.5 (4 bit) with flash 16.0.0.235 how do I get this fixed??? HELP

That crash appears to be casued by the Facebook plug-in.
Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts or Users & Groups on 10.7 and 10.8), make a new Library in that account, import some shots  and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.

  • Adobe AIR application crash on start in iOS devices

I have Adobe AIR application that uses Starling and DragonBones.
    We use IntelliJ IDE.
We can run the application on the device without problem when running from the IDE.
We build an ad-hoc distribution and put it on a device using TestFlight.
When we run the application it show the splash-screen image and after that either go into white blank screen or crashes.
In the XCode Organizer crash report I can't find helpful information.
How can I debug this problem?

Any chance of Testing with Flash Professional ? If so than connect your device and in Flash Professional CC go to Debug->Debug Movie-> On Device Via Usb -> Select your device.
It will start a debug session as soon as you start your app/game and than you can debug whats going wrong on the device, setup your trace statements or breakpoints and see in output panel what actually the problem is.
I hope it will help or some community guru may assist you or particularly you can post your problem in starling forum too, may be someone will help you there ...
PS: In debug session mode performance will be low so don't worry about that. This mode is just for debugging and testing purposes.

  • Why do all of my Adobe CC applications crash after giving me a warning about Ray Tracing and Media & Cache Storage?

I've been struggling with this issue for much too long.  I can't seem to find the solution anywhere,  or perhaps I'm not asking the right question?
Any help would be appreciated.   I'm a bit disapointed so far.   I just dropped 300 bucks.    Somone please help me.

All CC apps? That's unlikely. those warnings are specific to After Effects and Premiere Pro. However, since you haven't provided even a shred of technical info like system specs nobody can know what is going on. Most of those errors come down to inadequate hardware or at least an unsuitable configuration/ driver...

  • After 10.4.8 Upgrade: "Login Application crashed"

I upgraded to 10.4.8, but since the upgrade installed I am not able to boot:
I get past the grey screen/spinning wheel successfully to the Login Window with the status bar; then I get a blue screen and in 1s intervals the spinning wheel comes up and disappears.
I started in verbose-mode and the last messages I see is that the Login Window Application" starts and then crashes, a log is written for this app (which I can't access, since I can't logon). Then the Login app tries to start again and crashes again and so forth - I have to shut down the laptop or it keeps going that way.
Its possible that the 10.4.8 upgrade installed (maybe) incompletely; I had to leave the installation process, when I came back the machine was shut down. It actually showed first a blinking white led upon startup, not even the grey screen (which is according the support pages a memory problem indication). I pulled out the memory and put it back in, reset PR, then I got at least to the status described here; I started from the OSX disk and repaired disk - no repairs required and no help either.
    Any ideas?

Have you updated to 9.02? (with the Adobe Updater)
You may want to start with the technical support document that matches your OS:
Troubleshoot crashes, system errors, and freezes (After Effects CS4 on Windows Vista)
Troubleshoot crashes, system errors, and freezes (After Effects CS4 on Windows XP)
Troubleshoot crashes, system errors, and freezes (After Effects CS4 on Mac OS X)

  • Files for Adobe Reader Cause Crash

Every time I try to open a file for adobe reader, whether I get it embedded in my browser or download it from the internet either Safari crashes or Adobe Reader application crashes no matter what it is. I switched to firefox because Safari kept unexpectedly quitting constantly and it was becoming so frequent that I couldn't even do anything. Any advice on how to get the adobe reader plugin for safari to work(which i did install)? Or how to get any files to work? My friend has this same problem on her iBook, too.

    Hello David:
First, I would trash the Safari preference file (com.apple.safari.plist) and restart. Then I would uninstall the current Adobe reader you have installed (get all of it) and then download the latest version from the Adobe web site. FWIW, I have no trouble at all with either safari or reading PDF files.

  • Adobe video and audio applications crash on start up (CS4)

The audio or video editing software in my cs4 master suite make it past initialising core media on start up. I get an error dialog box telling me the software cant continue and to contact customer support. I have updated my video card drivers and downloaded the latest driver for after effects cs4. The after effects update has resulted in two additional error message boxes " Crash occured in second part of invoking codec" and "crash in progress"
.Photoshop runs, however a warning message appears saying "photoshop has encountered problems with the display driver and has temporarily disabled gpu enhancements. Check video card manufacturer' website for latest software" This message still continues to come up even though i have installed the latest drivers.
These problems began a few months back after i had given my laptop to a person at my college who installed "media player classic" and an earlier version of quicktime. He also said he changed the default video players and to the best of his knowledge that was all he did.  Luckily it has not been too relevant to my college work until now.  Please if anyone has any ideas on how i can fix this problem... do tell
    thanks

this seems like on hell of a job.
    It is...
How would i be able to tell if a codec is on my computer when it isnt listed in Add or Remove programs?
All  the tools I mentioned provide lists of installed CoDecs vs. missing  CoDecs when you attempt to open or inspect a file with them. Other than  that a CoDec list on Win XP is available in your multimedia control  panel or can be viewed from Media Players help page.
Also how will i know which codecs are unecessary or damaging as opposed to the safe ones i need to watch videos?
That's  a circular argument of sorts. If you need them for viewing, you can't  possibly go without them, but they may not necessarily go down well with  AE or otehr Adobe apps. to complicate matters, there are tons of  sub-versions e.g. of DivX and Xvid, so you can't expect an all out  answer to your problem. If you need to work with those files, the  obvious thing to do would be to convert them first to something  "neutral" (Quicktime files with Animation or PNG compression for  instance) before wiping the CoDecs. A definite stinker is the K-Lite  CoDec pack, but this one is not to get rid of with a simple uninstall.  it wil ldefinitely require to reinstall all Adobe software and possibly  the whole operating system... Adobe CoDecs identify themselves as  adbxxxxxxx (Adobe) or mcpxxxxxx (Mainconcept) in the four CC infor e.g.  ion GSpot. All others you probably don't need. But again, as I said,  this may require a lot of surgery, as for many CoDecs you will need to  remove multiple entries and even manualyl clean up the Registry....

  • Adobe After Effects CS4 Crashes After Reinstall

    Hello Adobe Community,
I come to you asking for help, my After Effects CS4 stopped working after reinstalling Leopard, I already reinstalled my Suite and Runned the Clean Up Script and still not working, first I launch the App and shows me the following error: "After Effects has encountered an error: [/Chinchillada/pro/ext/adobe/MediaCore/MedialLayer/VideoFilterHost/Make/Mac/../../Src/AEP luginVideoFilterModule.cpp-107]" then I click continue and then it shows me another error: "After Effects can't continue: An Output contract violation has ocurred!" then it shows another error: "After Effects warning: Failed to initialize mediacore" then it shows this "After Effects warning: Media Core is not correctly initialized" then it launches and freezes and shows that the app quitted unexpectedly, I'm sure that the app is dead but I already reinstalled with no success.
    Im Running:
    Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.7
    Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz
    1 GB Ram
After Effects worked and runned perfectly Please Help!
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
Sorry you are experiencing problems with After Effects.
I have a couple of questions....
    - did you install from a download, or a CD? if from a download, please download again, as their may have been issues
    - did you update it to v 9.02?
    - did you have a previous beta version on your computer?
    - you said you reinstalled Leopard - did you do a clean install? (ie reformatting your harddrive and starting clean)
I have experienced issues on the mac with a variety of different applications is I do a 're-install" vs a clean install.
Finally, are you aware that the minimum RAM requirements for AE CS4 is2GB
So since you only have 1GB, it could be a RAM  issue.
If you decided you want to try reinstalling before doing the more difficult task (reformatting Mac OS X with a clean install), I would run the cleanup script first, redownload, install, and then update.

    good luck,

  • Adobe After Effects CS4 Crashes During Startup

Hey I have a major problem i think.. after I installed AAE CS4 I picked the trial to see how it was b4 i bought it. Once everything was installed and complete I restarted my computer but when I went to open the program it pulled the grey aae startup box. It had 4% complete and said Initializing Media Core then it just stops and minutes later crashes with not progress. It continually does it with no improvement. Anybody that can help me?

I did all of the above:
    - 9.03 update
    -   1. Go go Control Panel -> System-> Advance System settings
         2. Click Advanced tab, Performance -> Setting
         3. Click Data Execution Prevention  -> Turn on DEP for all programs except those I select - > Here you click Browse and choose where your AE CS4 location is, and click Apply -> OK .
    - Run as administrator
Nothing worked. I still get the crash at start-up with the message
    <960> <AppDirs> <5> Required Dir=
    C:\ProgramFiles\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS4\Support Files\Required.
and after that sorry, AE can'r continue..
Help me please, I have the 30 days trial and I desperately need to learn how this program works for a project. After that I want to buy it.
My system is 32bit Vista Windows, I installed AE CS4 (that's the last one to run on 32bit right?) and did an update to 9.03.

  • Adobe Reader crashes a few seconds or minutes after start. After uninstalling I cannot manage to install it anymore

Hello. Since several days Adobe Reader XI crashes a few minutes or seconds after start. I tried to get an update but the computer does not react after the click on the setup-file. Finally I uninstalled Adobe Reader and Flash Player in order to install it new. The download from the Adobe Page worked but the setup does not start so I cannot install it. I also tried to it with Reader X but it does not work either.
I have a Windows 8.1 notebook, Mozilla Firefox.
Would be nice if anyone could give me some advice!

Uninstall the current Reader using http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
then reinstall with the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
If the crash still occurs; try disabling Protected Mode in Adobe Reader [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
