After Update 10.5.2 empty mailfolder or empty mails in mailfolder

Hopefully someone can help me,
I have a macbook, macbook pro and iMac and have a problem with displaying old mails of my .mac mailbox in Mail. The problem has appeard after the update on 10.5.2. and could be repeated on all other mac´s so it seems to be a common issue.
I have my old emails ( 40MB) stored on .mac for archieving and sharing purposes. They are inside a folder structure with up to 3 hierachical layers e.g. Old/bank/documentation.
Following problem appears after the update:
The Mails in the deeper hierachy are just displaying the header, but not the content in the preview. Double click for opening brings just an empty email. On Webclient I see everthing fine.
Doing a refresh of the mailfolder will let all the headers disappear, means the folder displayes as empty. Although on web client everything keeps normal as well as on the 10.5.1 Mailclients until they get updated to 10.5.2 they start to behave similar as discribed.
I have tried everything to overcome this problem but with no sucess, so I am about to come to the conclusion this is a bug, thats why I am posting here, if someone else has made the same experience and looking for help to get this solved quick.
Since I have upgrade my last one to 10.5.2 i have copied the folderstructure to local, which works without issues. So I can not work with .mac for folders until this is sorted...
Looking forward on your quick replies.

    @Satterp
Not sure if you were responding to me or OP - my iPhone is on 5.1.  The OP at the time of writing was on 5.0.1.
Also, the OP and I had setup our Hotmail as an Exchange server (similar to IMAP), not POP3.

  • After updating to iOS 5, I cannot retrieve Yahoo Mail

After updating to iOS 5, I cannot retrieve up to date Yahoo Mail.  It successfully connects.  But it only shows some old emails.  Nothing current.  I've deleted the Yahoo connector and recreated it.  Same thing.  I know I have new emails waiting in my Yahoo Inbox, yet they're not showing on my iPhone.
    Any ideas?

I fixed Yahoo Mail on my 3GS with iOS 5:  In Settings, "Mail, Contacts, Calendars", I reduced "Show" to "50 Recent Messages"
It had been set to "200 Recent Messages"
I also have an Exchange and MobileMe account setup on the phone.
I guess that there is not enough memory or something with iOS 5 on some devices to hold 200 Recent Messages from multiple accounts.
    Hope this helps!

  • After updating my iPad 2 with os6 my yahoo mail accounts can't log me in as session time expires. When I try again as we'll as confirming my password etc I face the same problem. Any help or ideas?

After updating my iPad 2 with os6 I can't get into my yahoo mail accounts. After repeating the process I get session expired message or sometimes not even this message and just prompts me to re enter my password. I know there is no issue with username or password as it works on my PC without any issues.
Does anyone have an answer to this?

Thanks for your response, however my yahoo mail started to work as normal this morning! No explanation, even though I made several attempts during the past few days by trying to log in but to no avail. Yet today it suddenly worked...presto.
Prior to this I made a trip to the Apple store in London and chatted with a few staff about this issue yesterday and they could not help.....had two answers:
    1. Check with yahoo and make sure you have not over stretched the number of accounts ( even though there are only two)
    2. If you had backed up os5 on the computer, one could revert back to old software. Otherwise wait for Apple to fix issues as os6 is new.
*Be interesting to know if anyone else has had a similar fix without rhyme or reason?

  • After update pdf files are empty

Yesterday I got a notification of an update for Adobe reader on a mac, OSX 10.7.5  After installation all my pdf files appear empty.  Message is "could not be opened because it is empty".  How to I fix this?

    Hi dacyndaf,
It is highly unlikely for the update to have caused this.
Would it be possible to share the file with me so that I can have a look.
Are these pdfs created by acrobat or any 3rd party application?
    Regards,

  • Default Email app not working after update on 5/3 on S4. It checks mail but never downloads anything. Last updated screen stuck on date and time just before update

After the last update, the default email app is not working as expected. It can send email but when it checks email, it never downloads any new messages. The last updated display at the top of the screen shows that the last successful update was on 5/3 just before the update took place. I will probably just download an email app and can this one but thought I would ask in case there is an easy fix.

On my S4, a little message "Master sync turned off" blinks at the bottom of the email app when I tried to manually sync.
On another thread, I discovered that you have to go into the settings toggle screen (swipe down from the top, hit the little four-square icon in the upper-right) and find "Sync".  That has to be turned back on.  For whatever reason, it was off on my phone after NC5 installed, and the email program needs it to be on.  Was it always there?  I don't know.
There is a separate sync setting that you can change inside the email app for each account... but they all cease functioning if the "Sync" is off.  So make sure the main "Sync" is on, and maybe that will restore your email function.  Good luck!

  • After updating to i os5  NONE of my e-mail accounts Work!

I have an e-mail account with a local isp, a gmail account and mobile me account.  NONE of them work now!  They all tell me passwords are incorrect which they are not.  On top of that, it somehow seems to have affected my e-mail program  (thunderbird) on my laptop!  IT also states it can't access or that passwords are wrong.  So I now have no access to any of my e-mail accounts.  HAs anyone else had this issue.  I have no idea how to fix!

    Hi.
It says for each of them "Could not connect to this SMTP server. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the Account preferences. Also verify that the server supports SSL. If it does not, deselect the "Use SSL" checkbox in the Advanced tab of Account preferences."
It says that Mail is connected to the Internet and I've tried deselecting the "Use SSL" checkbox but nothing changed. When I click "Show Detail" nothing comes up in the window.
Any thoughts? Thanks for your help.

  • After updating to Yosemite, mail will not import.  How can I retrieve it?

When I tried to import my mail after updating to Yosemite, it starts to import the mail, but stops mid-way.  I have mail saved on my MacBook Pro that is from email accounts that are no longer in use.  Is this why this is happening?  I need those emails.  Is there any way to get them back?  It would have been nice to have gotten some kind of warning before the update began.

None of the included apps can be deleted.
Is Restrictions enabled at Settings > General > Restrictions?
If so, is Camera turned on as a Restriction?

  • Serious Problems with Gmail after update Mail

After updating to Mavericks a couple of days ago, Mail is really acting unstable.
Today, all my mail in (IMAP) Google Mail account is moved to the Archive folder without any confirmation by me!
Right now I've set the account disabled and in Google Mail, I moved all the mail from the archive-folder back to the Inbox.
I use the Google Mail also as an archive. It is really making me concerned about the safety of my mail when using Apple's Mail.
I also had troubles with my iCloud mail (not available a few times this week).
Hope Apple has a good answer.

I wish you could go back. My iPad just crashed and burned. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING is gone. I had to do a restore od the whole thing, and now none of my apps are installed. Every photo I added after the beginning of August is gone! iBooks are no longer even listed that I used to have on it. Progress in games is lost, and I had sorted games by ones I had purchased but not yet played, ones I had finished but wanted to keep local and ones that were only partly played. These were all in separate groups. All that sorting is now gone. I will now have days of work ahead downloading them all and trying to figure out what is what, if I can!
I no longer have any faith in Apple. How they can release such a bug laden OS onto us is beyond me!

  • Mail.app signatures and rules gone after update

After updating to OS X 10.9.4 and Mail.app 7.3 all my mail signatures and rules are gone.
If I now recreate those rules and signatures they are gone when I restart.
I have tried repairing permissions in disk utility. It has not restored my lost configurations nor does it allow me to maintain preferences across restarts.
I do not have Time Machine backups, all my data is with Google. The only things on my computer which are not on Google are things like this Mail client configuration.
Has anyone else lost this configuration and been able to restore it?

  • [SOLVED] Gnome 3.2 - Applications Menu empty after update

After updating all my boxes from 3.0 to 3.2, one of them got the Applications Menu wiped. The .desktop files are all there but none show up in the Menu, it's just empty.
Apart from that everything seems to work just fine, did anyone came across a similiar problem or knows a solution ? I tried to google how to regenerate the Menu but failed to find anything useful and/or gnome3 related.

  • HELP: library empty after update 11.02.26

    Hi,
I just installed the new iTunes version 11.02.26. After I opened iTunes my whole library was empty, playlists, music, video's... It's all gone.
I restarted my laptop (windows 8) to see if that would fix te problem but it didn't work. I als got the error -42110 and I fixed it by deleting the 'SC Info' folder.Than I restarted my laptop again, but still no sign of my old library with all the playlists.
Than I installed the old version of iTunes back to what it was, (11.01) but my library was still missing.
Please HELP if anyone knows how to fix this. I have had days of work to organize my playlists! And I need to synchonize my iPhone for my work as soon as possible without losing any of my settings, music, agenda, etc.
    Thank you VERY much!
